I have one of these units. Beautiful sound. I’m going to need to have it serviced, just for my own sake. Have you ever had yours serviced? Has drop record function ever stoped or have you ever had problem with that auto function? Thanks. Beautiful Unit. Mine is Color Black.

If you think this is something, try the Capehart, Garrard, and Lincoln turnover changers (all different). The RCA Victor "Magic Brain" is a piece of crap, but it is interesting.

I like that you have demonstrated the full function of the changer. Record drop and end shut off cycle. Realize that this viddy is 10 years old and I appreciate your mission. Sounds pretty good for dusty records.

Essentially a rebadged Perpetuum Ebner 2020. The Home-consumer market for record players was dominated by German manufacturers Dual, PE and Elac in The 50's & 60's (90% globally), and for good reasons, such as build quality, , precision, sound and technology (RCA might have invented the vinyl record, but Elac made it sound the way we love it). These are the giants whose shoulders the Japanese stood on in the 70's, once true Hi-Fi was established.

That was the first "good" piece of audio equipment I owned. Excellent tuner -- didn't overload or distort. 50 years later, it remains a classic.

BSRs were the absolute WORST of the cheap automatic record changers. They were worse than Garrard, worse than Collaro, even worse than VM. They were jerky and loud in the change cycle. The platters were noisy and they ran too fast. They were cheap, which is why they were so widely used. BSRs were the reason people were so quick to give up LPs for CDs.

It's a Philips AG1125 automatic record player from 1962.

I am in process of restoring a belt idler unit like yours, but missing the belt and pulley wheel on the motor. Any recs for finding replacement parts?

i have one of these! it's hooked up to a Wintec receiver & running thru a heathkit graphic equilizer & Klipsch Heresy speakers... it really is the sound of the 70s imo.

hey i just got one of these as a gift, and I'm having a little trouble with it. I think it might need a new needle, because whenever i try to play a record, instead of following the tracks the arm just slowly moves inward. Any suggestions? Also what are the settings on the side used for?
