I'm a Texan and lived in Lake County and Santa Rosa from 86-95. I miss it every day and it breaks my heart to watch these videos of places I knew.

It's crazy I was in Santa Rosa the night the fired started was eating at in and out with my family after a soccer game in Marin county. Woke up to the news for the fire.

I guess the motel is no more other than burnt rubble. I saw the place in flames on a CNN video June 30, 2021.

how come the trees around the barn didnt burn?

Beautiful. My dad was a California State Park Ranger and we lived at the Goat Rock ranger station/residence for six years in the early 60's. I remember vividly when the Russian River was actually a river that flowed all the way to the ocean ... with water in it. What a cool place for a kid to grow up at! Thank you for bringing back the good memories!

When I moved to Santa Rosa, Fountain Grove was a Christmas Tree Farm. That was the last year of the Tree Farm before the Parkway and development.
