I most interestet in bagua da dao ,but the deer horn knives as unique weapon of Baguazhang is pretty cool. The moves are similar to the open hand forms ,right ? Thanks for Sharing.
@HubertPloberger yep, at end of day the weapons principles are derived from the empty hand and body principle motions. Someone had to "create" these forms. These applications are based off ideas i was shown and sometimes what i caught a glimpse of my fellow classmates doing. ⚔
Not a bad video. One thing - the concept for 扣步 Kòu Bù is pronounced like the sound in ‘Coat’. Not to be confused with the pronunciation for the technique called 靠 Kào pronounced like ‘cow’. Which means to bump.
@@bboytao thanks for the feedback, im going to be going back to cantonese/mandarin lessons online soon. The tones are tough, you can kind of get away with it with european languages (I speak french, spanish, smattering of german). I think 3 -6 months of immersion in HK or China would help with getting a 'local accent' 🔊
@ if you’re focusing on northern martial arts stick with Mandarin. The linguistic differences in pronounciation between Cantonese and Mandarin are further apart than Spanish and Italian and if you want to relate to the northern arts mandarin would be the way to go. Also if you’re looking for a place to study, the best place to study mandarin is in Taiwan at the ‘Mandarin Training Center’. They teach far far better than they do in China
It’s such an odd coincidence. I just got home from work, and I’ve been thinking about the deer horn knives all day.

I've had a solid steel version of this large ring for about 30 years now (bought from Shaolin Way, a shop in London's China town). I use it for the same sort of power generation techniques and for arm conditioning. As with the small 'single arm' rings. Over time, you can add more rings (for strength exercises). Sadly I can't find these larger (solid steel) rings in any shops nowadays (even online). You have to go to a specialist metal merchant to get something similar. peace.
Yep, Shaolin Way was a great shop, called in there a few times visiting london and chatted with the owner yap leong
Hard to find a decent set of shaolin steel ring weights without breaking the bank these days as well
Hi Amazon has a power ring that's 10 lbs bala power ring.
wheres all your internal structure gone ,every part of the inside of you body should be like a pressure cooker during expansion and contraction and in that form you hit with the entire fore arm not just part of it ,it's akin to being hit by an iron bar across the liver and ribbs and your hand was turned the wrong way during the strike ,ever seen ti chi ,,the palm of the hand faces your body with a slightly bent wrist in the hit ,,everything in Xing-i has slight bends in it ,wrists ,fingers ,elbows ,,and your shoulders weren't on either, were you sucking your darntien ,and where is all the expansion gone ,,in xing-i we train the tendons so we use tendons against tendons and muscle against muscle to create the internal pressure ,and each form must be performed ultra slowly ,expect sweat to drip from your elbows ,soaking shirt ,,achieve a high pressure ,this is the secret of xing-i ,,see a body builder will push weights and his body will pump up but it will go back down every time without fail ,,you practice xing-i like this and every time you pump up you'll stay up a little longer every day until your body is expanded 24/7 without even trying ,you have changed your body at this point at the cellular level now that your body is like steel 24/7 with no effort or even conscious effort ,it is now you can begin to find softness and sensitivity ,,the body operates at a very high level at this point ,,at this point you have gone through hardness to get to softness ,and not like all the others that go through softness to get to hardness ,,oh also at that point you are just about a super man ,,not many will be able to handle or even stop or hurt your body ,,this is the secret of xing-i that only very few know ,,,slow is the way to go and only take the rains off now and again but generally practice ultra slow with internal structure and high pressure ,,and dont forget to breath properly ,also when you do that strike you must step through the opponent as you hit not just hit ,doing it this way creates kinetic energy ,very destructive.
Some dance routine.

Interesting. I have such a ring, so I'll try ;)
Its 26cm in diameter.
Thanks for answering! I noticed that it looked a bit smaller than the metal ring I have, but I don't know your dimensions, so that could be one thing. (I'm a big guy(so the ring would look a bit smaller in my practice), about six feet and two inches tall and I walk around at 260lbs these days, although I am on a mission to lose around 20 more pounds. I learned that this is the weight range I move and feel the best at. Sorry for going off topic there.
@@SuperMasterChieftain my understanding is the ideal diameter, is the distance from crook of elbow to the beginning of wrist and for s smaller ring either half or 2/3rds that distance.

@@cortocombateeskrima1799 Nope, took silat for years back in the mid 90's. They are nice people, they have interesting movements, but they can't fight to save their lives. Great example is this very example.
