    I just watched a documentary on Abraham. His story is absolutely disgusting. The story of Lot is sickening. God's command for Joshua to commit genocide on the Canaanites is grotesque. The story of Samson is appalling. I'm sorry but this Hebrew God is a vile tyrant dictator prone to murdering humans. The fact that so many people read the Bible and believe what it says is absolutely mind-boggling. You'd be less a fool to believe in Santa Claus.

    Interesting that you continuously refer to the pre-Canaanite region as "Palestine" rather than "southern Levant." A quick Google search said it wasn't until Herodotus, in the 5th Century BCE, refered to it as a "district of Syria, called Palaistinê" (Ancient Greek: Συρίη ἡ Παλαιστίνη καλεομένη) in his work "The Histories." He translated from the Hebrew word Peleshet to refer to the Philistines into Palestine, the coast region of southern Levant.

    For the list at 4:15 for example, Molech can hardly be coutned as a god. There aren't really attestations to a god of that name, outside of the bible, whose writers had immediate material interests in portraying it the way they did. With our current understanding, Molech/moloch refers to a type of sacrifice, in which a child/animal/money could be presented as an offering to a given deity, to ensure the suvival of future children - which was a persuasive idea, in a time where 50% died in infancy. There are traces throughout the OT of YHWH partaking in such human sacrifice, and passsages dictating that that will no longer be necessary to placate him.

      ok ok, you hinted at that at 7:24

    • @ClayandPapyrus
      @ClayandPapyrus 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yea, I saw it going both ways. Some scholars say Molech was a type of sacrifice, but other scholars (often older scholars) say Molech was a deity. So I just decided to include Molech and noted he could be a type of sacrifice and that its debated.

    Examples, at the first sight... aramean features [i.e Yasser Arafat o Menahem Begin, and many stereotypical sepharditans and centroeuropean jews], cananean features [the most in the actual population of Gaza, typical mediterraneans, more of 40% actually], filistean features [more of 20% of actual population of Gaza Strip, with light skin, eyes and hair], negroid precananeans and other african groups subsequent [more of 20% in Gaza Strip], sirian arab [i.e. Mahmoud Abbás] and cisjordanian bedouins [20%], like in Transjordania. Approximately, of course 😊

  • @pablorodriguez6577
    @pablorodriguez6577 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Simplifiing so much... first, precananeans [cromagnoid nilotic negroes, from Egypt, in the first Neolitic Era, in the Bible they are the "enaqim"], second... semitic cananeans. Third, in last Bronze, protohebrew "hapiru" and protoisraelitans "shasu" [cananeans from the mountain, according I. Finkelmann], and filisteans [from Crete and continental Greece, indoeuropeans], and some sirians [arameans]. Afterwards, in proper biblical times, several protoarab preislamic groups [amaleqim, idumeans, ammonites...]. And finally, after the islamization, sirian arabs and arabian bedouins. These are the ancestors of actual palestinians and the ancestor of some jew misrayies [the ancestor of jew sepharditans are arameans, more than cananeans, although the both groups are semitic, and the ancestors of jew askkenazim are khazards and slaves]. The genuine biblical jews are cananeans basically, but their lenguage, ancient hebrew was more close to the aramaic and arabic. If you have a better simplificated theory, please tell me it. 😊

      Because Palestine is a term used to describe a geographical region, akin to Transjordan or Eastern Europe, rather than a sovereign nation. It was also called Palestine under British mandate for 28 years until it was conquered by Israel in 1948, Since then, Palestinians have initiated 5 wars, losing each one and have not chose to accept defeat. It’s truly a sad tale

    Although Mt. Gerizim is a HUGE sectarian difference (and there are other sectarian differences) their Torahs don’t differentiate “Heavily.” In fact, they are very similar, and they are more similar than different 😃. The sectarian “differences” in the Samaritan Torah make more sense to the reader. Where questions have arisen in the Masoretic text, the Samaritan text reads more clearly. Jews in antiquity also had Mt. Gerizim in their text before the Masoretic text was deemed as authoritative. It is possible that the MT has been redacted.
