IMHO this is the most POWERFUL, BEAUTIFUL and HEART-WRENCHING love/desire songs OAT....the searing guitar of Clapton, the screaming slide of Allman and the ode to the woman he was in love with..............yes we have heard ourselves in this song at one time or another..yes we know the story of the song...and yes we know the end result of this sad chapter in Clapton's life...but it IS painful to endure...made up by classical riff and coda screaming guitars...then the soft fade out..............a beautiful love song.

I don't remember this song when it came out in 71. I found it on a play list in 2018. Now it's my fav Stones song! But you know what they say. "If you remember the 70's, You wasn't there"!!

Aside from the fact that I personally believe this is the best version of Layla, I think this song has a fantastic piano solo.

But did she really know something? Or was it most likely just gas?These are the things we really need to know.Especially if these farts have been going on for a while.

I went to an Eric Clapton's presentation here in Brazil, he played this song but at end of presentation many people were complaining that he didn't play Layla.......bunch os people only know the accoustic version.........
