I honestly do solo a few times, most times to grab points to buy a few perks. I'll try to pick off a player, but dont fight a whole team if I can avoid them. Use this a lot to be silent and blend in.

As a solo player, bring traps. They have multiple uses, but can cover your back when outside a compound and sniper, taking pot shots. You can help yourself lock down a boss liar so you don't have to try to cover every entrance. Trap known pathways and set up an ambush. Don't leave home without them.

I like using quarterrmaster and taking a Centennial Trauma with FMJ and a bow with half regular arrows and half frag arrows. I take a spear as my melee. Of course, I always take an ammo box with me. This load out is good at almost any distance and is great at harassing people within a compound. I am going to use the new pain sense trait, get them bleeding with an arrow, then wall bang with the Centennial. That should be fun. I may try poison arrows, too. I did not know that hanging sound traps stop arrows. Explains some missed shots. Thanks for that tip.

Seriously, use different weapons. It makes the game more fun, but if you play with every weapon type, you understand how to respond to every weapon type. You also might find something funny that you like. I just ran a slate and a pax trueshot and ended up maxing out the hunter with the loadout and it was a lot of fun

I was playing with someone the other day that used the Concetina arrows to block the entrances to the boss room. Definitely a smart play until it was time to leave lol

Before you pull the arrow back, you can use the arrow head as a guild for long range shots. A 100 meter shot is a few pixels above and to the left of the arrow head. Love being far as shit and taking on a rifle player. Dont always win against them but man its fun.

I like the poison arrow, since it oneshots those big armored NPC enemies and i can also pick them back up (i learned that late, i thought special arrows use up that property)

For the first tip, i always go surefoot and synchronize my sprinting with enemies making noise. Solos are so tough, i just started playing a week ago but these bursts of adrenaline hit so good.

Swapping weapons with the bow drawn will negate the movement penalty that comes with undrawing a bow, so it’s best to make a habit out of swapping. I’ve been having a lot of fun bringing a Romero hatchet with the bow. It has a lot of utility and is a really aggressive weapon. The bow is deadly but I see it as more of a defensive weapon that excels in holding angles and punishing mistakes. It’s great having something I can pull out and just press W with like the hatchet.

Iirc, while it's niche, Bolt Seer will let you see arrows or other projectiles currently stuck in a hunter. It's no Poison Sense, but it could tell you where to follow up that frag arrow!

I enjoy running the poison arrows! If I get a hit on a player, I know the person is most likely bleeding AND poisoned, which means they can't heal for a bit, so it's a good time to push them for an easy kill
