    just to tell the story for every non german speaking motorsport fan: this was the last round of the season. the driver in this clip (Marc Hessel) was 3rd in the championship standing with 113Points. 2nd was his Teammate Eric van de Poele with 117 Points. And championship leader was ford driver Manuel Reuter with 118Points. The Team of Marc Hessel and Eric van de Poele said to Hessel before the race that he had to let by Eric van de Poele cause he has a better chance of winning the championship. During the Race Eric van de Poele and also championship leader Manuel Reuter had a tire failure which put them to the back of the field. Hessel didnt know that. So in the last lap, when Hessel was P5 in a championship winning position, he slowed down to let his teammate Eric van de Poele by like he was told to do before the race. Not knowing that van de Poele had a tyre failure. Hessel lost 4 positions and got P9 in the end. Eric van de Poele was so far back that he couldnt overtake Hessel and got P10 in the end. Manuel Reuter got P12 in the end. So to conclude: Eric van de Poele won the championship cause his teammate Marc Hessel slowed down trying to let him by. If Hessel would have finished normally without waiting for his teammate he would have been the champion of the 1987 season. all die deutschen hier kennen die Story sowieso schon ;)

      What a true expert you are. Noob driver: Yeah. It was Marc Hessel's FIRST season in DTM and he was a challenger for the championship which he lost due to team orders only. Blue smoking enemy diesel cars: You really have no fucking clue how insanely good those Volvos were in the mid-80s, have you? I'm pretty sure you would've easily won the race and the championship. Good for you.

    Super Footage der guten alten DTM. Man sieht richtig, wie lange es braucht, bis die Reifen auf Temperatur waren, wenn man sich die erste schnelle Kurve nach Start und Ziel anschaut. Beim Start muss Hessel noch extrem stark in der Kurve gegenlenken. Das Auto ist dabei permanent im Grenzbereich. Wahnsinn. In den darauf folgenden Runden wird der Grip in der dieser Kurve immer besser. Nochmal: Klasse Bildmaterial. Allerdings würde ein solches Streckendesign aus Sicherheitsgründen heute keinen Platz mehr in der DTM finden. Richtig so aber irgendwie auch schade...

      Eigentlich war es sein Fehler. Durch die Streichresultate dachte er, van de Poele muss unbedingt vor ihm ins Ziel kommen
