Thanks for posting...this was FABULOUS (have never seen this)!!! Have always loved Gregory Hines as an actor and dancer (taken from us by cancer at the extremely young age of 57), and to have Steve Martin keeping up with his dancing is the best! Not surprised about Steve as I loved him in the film Pennies From Heaven. ❤☮🌎

There are many actors & actresses who are accomplished tap dancers who don’t get the opportunity to showcase their talents. My all time favorite of course was Shirley Temple!

Talented men. Ted Danson could probably do this too. Tap dancing was almost a pre-requisite for a job in the early Hollywood days.

Steve Martin is so multi-talented. I never realized he could tap dance but you can tell in some of his movies that he moves well and seems light on his feet. He’s a very good - and respected - banjo player, too. Not an easy instrument to play well. Excellent actor and comedian, too. He does it all.

In his first years, Steve Martin toyed with his other talents. Then, as he let stand-up slowly end, he became an excellent comedian and dramatic actor in movies. His dancing skills showed, ever-so often in his stand-up shows. This is one rare time he showed how good he was. But the talent he hid, now very proud of, is his being a very, very great banjo player. From bluegrass music, country to pop tunes (yes, even pop) done in the banjo style. He has his own group, released some cds, but prefers to play live. "I never wanted to mix my abilities in my career," Martin once said on a David Letterman show. "When part of my career was coming to a close, I let it. I opened the next door to something I loved to do." It was on one of those nights he played the banjo. Side note, my dad loved bluegrass music. One special on some cable country network, they announced the Steve Martin band. Dad laughed and said, "This ought to be good." I told him, "This is what he does now. Be prepared to see a talent you never knew he had." Halfway through just their first song, dad admitted that Steve Martin was really good. Coming from a dad who was very particular about his bluegrass musicians, this was high praise. Find out for yourself. Find Steve Martin's performances on the banjo and enjoy. As for Gregory Hines, this man was a complete all out talented man. He was a joy to watch. He could also act. Two very talented men in this video.

Love and miss Gregory Hines so much. I knew Steve could dance, but holy moly, he can tap so well!!!! Steve kept up with Gregory, he’s so talented, is there anything Steve Martin can’t do??? He sings and plays banjo, I have two of his albums with Edie Brickel, he is an excellent actor, he’s the best stand up comedian… I am sure he can do more, coz he’s a wild and crazy guy. And he’s not slowing down, I love Steve Martin, it was hilarious when 4 years ago, when he got a fly in his hair for his Halloween costume based on Mike Pence’s debate with Kamala. ❤❤❤❤❤
