I unfortunately don't have a means of weighing it, but it's made completely out of toy grade plastic, no metal. I'd say it's relatively light compared to hobby grade 1/6 scale cars lol

I have an entire video on that Volvo build if you care to check it out! The body is not "entirely" custom. They sell the shells on ebay, you just have to cut and paint them yourself. There's plenty of tutorials on youtube for that if you're not experienced!

Wow, I didn't know it had all those features, I never saw it running before it got taken apart. My whole idea was just to put new life into the car, a whole stock restoration would be cool to see for sure!

This comment is relatively long but it's worth the read, I hope 🤞🏾. But I was originally saying how I too was bummed out when I saw you trashed the original electronics. They were "Meh" anyways but it would've been cool to keep. As I read though, you didn't know. But yeah dude, it came with a push to start button which played ignition sounds and the engine starting up through that bottom mounted speaker. It was pretty loud too and had decent bass to it. Also had a functioning horn, turn signals as @cathrinelord mentioned and 3 speed adjustments. On the flip side, you did successfully DIY your own bluetooth speaker in there and even made a little dope ass box for it! That was cool! Glad to see others having fun with cardboard and hot glue. It's cheap and easy to work with. And as you've shown, with a bit of TLC, it can come out looking great! I can already see someone else 3D printing a housing for it but this is cooler in a sense and looks better with the felt like material you applied on top. Hey, speaking of DIY, I was thinking....since you've already equipped the Hummer with hobby grade electronics, I was wondering if you'd consider coming back to this project and doing a version 2 or something of the sorts? If so, I have a few suggestions: One, being to replace the stock brushed motor with a cheap ($20-$35) brushless motor.(However, upgrading to a better brushed motor is cool too 😌). You can find em on Hobby King, A Main Hobbies, and Amazon, but if you have a local hobby shop, I definitely recommend popping up in there. Not only will you be supporting them and the hobby but they'll tell you exactly what will work best for your needs and often times will help you out with your projects. Hey, it looks like we have the same/similar ESC. I too bought a cheap one for my first build (22" Subaru BRZ kit from Tamiya). The cool thing about that ESC is that you can move one of the jumpers over to swap between LiPo and NIMH. I'm saying this to say, if you didn't want to perform a brushless motor swap (which will require a brushless ESC ($17 on Amazon), you could upgrade the truck to run off a LiPo battery (I bought a 2x pack of 2S LiPos for $30 on Amazon). It will automatically give the stock motor more power and your run time will multiply, considerably. Just check the temps on the motor every now and then during the first few runs to make sure it doesn't get hot. But this will set you up for brushless too! Especially if you end up burning out the stock motor lol. But, you'll require a LiPo charger.....this is where I wouldn't necessarily cheap out. I recommend you spend a good $30-$50 on a nice smart charger (luckily they're a lot cheaper these days). Will save you more money in the long run as generally the more expensive chargers support a wider variety of batteries and are equipped with quality features that some of the cheaper alternatives lack. I also thought about you replacing the stock spring shocks with some oil filled shocks. Those too should be pretty cheap. Around $13-$25. Seeing that you've managed to solder up the speakers, install a servo and some arms for steering, I have confidence in you working out how to replace the stock suspension. And lastly, I wanted to suggest that you wire up the existing speaker and put it to use. Should definitely add some oomph to the overall sound. I remember it being pretty loud and having a bit of bass. Side note: If your transmitter has a third/fourth channel, you could use those to control the lights. I'd recommend purchasing one of those light kits off of Amazon ($14). This will allow you to bring back the functionality of the lights. You connect it as a passthrough, channel 1 (steering) goes into the box and out goes back into the receiver as normal. Now, when you turn left/right it will engage the turning signals. Same with channel 2 (forward/back) applying the brakes will cause the brake lights to turn on and tapping it a second time will turn on the reverse lights. And depending on how you configure it, pressing CHN 3 on your transmitter can toggle the lights/headlights on and off. Depending on if you decide to decide to do some of these mods and where you source your parts from, the total should be around $120-$150. Shoot, after sharing all of this, you're making me want to do this to my own. I have my grandpas black military looking H2 hummer along with his Harley Bike. Ima try to get them running this summer and may spec out my hummer myself. 😎 Lemme know whatcha think man! Take care and have fun!

Yes, they definitely put cheap tires on these things, but that's the quality you get with toy grade RC's. Ideally, I would love to just take the body and put it on a hobby grade chassis. But the faster you make it, the more likely it is to get damaged, so idk if it's really worth it. Thank you for the compliments!

Where there's a will, there's a way. Though I'm not sure how fast you would want to make a toy grade rc, lol. The plastic wouldn't hold up to any sort of bashing, and replacement parts are nonexistent. My first attempt would be to put a higher power ESC up and try running 3s-4s on a stock motor. Worst case scenario you burn up a toy grade motor

Honestly! I've seen people run these on 3s as well, that adds some speed for sure but i also hear it can overheat the ESC. I just run mine on the stock 2s and have a blast!

100% safe in the snow! Just make sure to dry it very well after running it through any snow or water. Compressed air is always best, but if that's not an option, lay it on a towel over night and try to absorb as much as you can. The electronics are waterproof, but water can damage the bearings and cause them to sieze

@Junky Jordan I've been told to spray the whole thing down in wd40 to help repel water, might do that. It's just a cheap rc but ide like to keep it going for a little while 👍
