Also I noticed you started bringing your plants in. What do you do for IPM and sanitation? Spider mites, aphids, soil mite and aphid, broad mite, russet mite, thrip, powdery mildew, botrytis are all very common from spring to fall in our area. This isn’t even including the pests/disease pressure present for mammals as well. I would love to keep a few outdoor plants that I could bring in during the winter but the pest and disease pressure is too much for me. The potential to overwinter mold, mildews, fungi, bugs, etc is a serious health concern for me and my plants. Any one of these things will kill your crop in a 2 weeks. Say you fertilize with manure? Well if larvae grow in it and become flying adults and potential chew and land on your food or you like flys, they can transmit salmonella and other bad nuerological toxins that could impact our health. What if you bring inside a tick that was living in your potted soil outside that was biting the local birds or squirrels. Now it’s in your home biting you. See what I’m saying? What do you do to stay safe and clean and most importantly keep your plants safe, happy and healthy?
Hi there! Fortunately, I don't have any of the issues that you have mentioned. I started 95% of my indoor plants from seeds. More importantly, when I replant them in the containers, I sterilize the soil first before using them for inside plants. My indoor plants are healthy and robust year round. I only use plant-based fertilizers, which are the compost that I make from yard leaves, fruit peelings, veggie Scraps, and weeds from my backyard garden. I am against using animal manure even in my outside garden. I strictly stick to Only Plant-based fertilizers. Hope, this helps. God bless.
@ how do you sterilize the soil before you transplant your outdoor plant in it before bringing them in? I also love that you don’t use animal fertilizers, I believe they bring on pathogens that are dangerous to us. But it’s just speculation, I could be wrong.
I agree. To me, animal manure is unsanitary. Anyway, this is how I sterilize the soil for indoor use. So, fill a big tote with garden soil and pour hot water on it. This will kill any bugs and eggs that's embedded in the soil. After the treatment, let it stand to cool. Thank you much for watching.
@@maries716gardenvlog6 I’m going to give it a go. Have you ever tried to use diatomaceous earth? Many I know mend that into the soil. As the soil dries out, it becomes affective, any bugs that crawl into it will dehydrate and get cut up with glass and die.
@Beepboopboopboopbeep No, I haven't tried that kind of soil but that sounds interesting! Anyway, with your treated garden soil, mix up a little of the POTTING MIX soil (light weight one) for aeration. You can also aerate the soil with PERLITE if you want. Now, the soil is ready for use. This is the method that I have used for years and my plants are happy and healthy, Plus bugs free. Hope, this works for you, like it did for me. God bless!
You inspire me, I love your videos, ty for sharing!
Glad, you enjoyed watching the video. Each year, I look forward to Fall season because I enjoy gathering leaves around and the yard for compost. Have a blessed day.
Wow, they have such a beautiful and rare color!! Could you share the link from where you bought the seeds? I would appreciate it
Hi there! I bought the seeds from Amazon but I can't remember the name of the seller. So, I think just search for hyacinth beans and it should pop out. Hope, this helps. Anyway, thank you very much for watching. Have a blessed day!

Hey guys, so sorry, I have to cut the last part of this video, because of the copyright issue. Hi there! Thank you very much for tuning in. Take care.
I was just thinking about you earlier today wondering if it was getting pretty cold there. I remember those cold days in upstate NY. I use to live in Dutchess County, NY Will you show us how you cooked your Hyacinth Beans. Enjoyed watching💜💜💜💜
Wow! What a small world? Yeah, the weather is pretty cold here in Buffalo now. The higher elevations had frost this week. I live in the city, so, we'll probably get our first frost nextweek. Speaking of hyacinth beans, it's already cooking in the stove for dinner. However, there is more left in the vine and I will record it when I cook that one. Thank you very much for following my channel. Take care!
So Nice 💞💞💞👌👌👌👌👌

Those berries look great! I have never had them. TFS
Mmm, it's so good. I had them when I was little. Unfortunately, they were planted late and don't have enough warm weather to ripen. Next Summer though, I will start their seedlings early indoor, before transplanting them in the garden. It'll make it next year, I'm positive!! Thank you very much for tuning in. Have a blessed day!
@@maries716gardenvlog6 That’s the spirit!

Hi! Thank you very much for tuning in. Have a blessed day!
I've never eaten Hyacinth Beans. They look a lot like Butter Beans . Maybe I'll order some seeds to plant in the Spring to see what they are all about.
I have had them when I was little and yes, they tasted like Lima Beans as I remembered. This plant reminded me a lot about my Childhood, that I was exited when I found the seeds. I bought the seeds from the Amazon store. Unfortunately, I can't save any seeds out of my plants as intended, because there isn't sufficient time for the seeds to mature. Needless to say, I will have to shop again at the Amazon. Anyway, I thought that the cost of the Hyacinth Beans seeds are ridiculously expensive. It costs 10 dollars or more for 10 counts of seeds. Next year though, I will plant them early in Spring time, so, they will have ample time to seed and never buy them again. Lol!! Thank you very much for watching as always. God bless.
Enjoyed watching you grocery shop from your organic garden. Just imagine how much that would cost you in the grocery store. It's a blessing to be able to grow your own veggies, fruits and more. My mouth is watering for those beets!😍😍😍
So true. And yes, I'm blessed as well, to have a small space to grow food. It's indeed a good feeling to get out into the garden, pick the food you desired, get back to your kitchen, cook them and then enjoy eating them. Sorry, for my run-on sentence. Thank you very much for watching! God bless.
I love beets & squash. It's delicious!!!

Thanks so much for the tip on dill. I didn’t realize that they will come back. I was ready to pull them out!
Hi! Yes, that's the trick if you want them to grow in the same spots every year. Also, it's crucial to trim their stems while still green, because that's an indicator of healthy roots. If you let the stems dry out before trimming them, chances are that the roots will rot. Thank you very much for watching. Take care.
