Hey! Welcome to my channel! I'm Dinadan, an aspiring content creator wishing to provide you with some fun and entertainment while I play some of my favorite games.
Can you beat Dark Souls 1 leveling up Intelligence only?
I realized I somehow cut the Pinwheel fight out by accident, but you all know I did kill him right? You don't doubt that obviously, right?

Hey folks! I'm gonna leave the link to Accains run here. Go check it out, its really good and very impressive. th-cam.com/video/6jn-DSc9YPU/w-d-xo.html Rules for the run: 1. Only damage from the left hand weapon attack. 2. Daggers only. 3. No glitches or exploits. 4. Kill all bosses.

Your videos are awesome keep up the awesome work and they’re very entertaining as well.
a sub for you
Don't think i have ever gone the enchanted upgrade route
I don't really think its that great of an upgrade route, you'd get much better results from a regular or raw infusion and a magic weapon sorcery for damage. Enchanting it is pretty weak in my opinion.
Damn gg brother
Bro who hurt you as a child lol Praise the sun \[T]/ we found another Mad one
Haha on the contrary, I didn't get hurt enough and I'm trying to fix it. Praise the sun indeed \[T]/
Minor correction, the soft-cap for faith/int is 50, not 40. It's the same for both catalysts/talismans and infused weapons (When infused the softcap is also raised for the physical scaling but the overall scaling value is slightly lower at the softcap). Weapons with innate magic damage have the soft-cap at 40 for all scaling stats being the exception.
Also for the tailcut you could've used the Blacksmith Giant Hammer (high lightning damage) since you have the stats to 2-hand it. If you upgrade it to max using the Weapon Smithbox (bought from Andre at the beginning). A jumping 2-handed attack + a light 2-handed attack should've been enough, or maybe 2 heavies.
@@UnNormieCualquiera Thanks for the tips! I'll keep them in mind for future runs. I didn't even consider the Giant Blacksmith's Hammer to be honest.
@@dinadanplays Don't worry most people forget because they don't have a reason to. It's also pretty sad to kill the poor guy to get it.
Seriously, people really doesnt know that doing a jump attack, instead of falling off a ledge and doing a falling attack, does extra damage?
I mean sure, in a practical sense it really doesn't make that much of a difference though, unless you are actively trying to one shot everything. With this amount of damage it'll likely save you 1 hit at most, which in the grand scheme of things ain't much.
@@dinadanplays i agree, but i never see people do it, so i was kinda paranoid that maybe no one knew...
@@normanderi I'm sure there are some who don't know for sure, you aren't crazy haha
You could have tried the crystal halberd for the seath tail, high base damage and long reach, i think you can even apply resins to it Or were you out of stat requirements for it
Unfortunately the Halberd requires 12 Dex and the Knight starts with 11, that's why I opted for the lightning spear. That and Seath's weakness to lightning.
You could have upgraded the lighting spear with normal chunks and get the tail cut that way. Anyway
I probably should have, at the time I was already thinking of other solutions and I didn't think of the most obvious one it seems lol. Thanks
Just subbed to you yesterday and I just saw this video. HOW DARE YOU REOPEN OLD WOUNDS OF MINE!! XD wayyyy back when and I didn't have a save editor so I ran through, did sens skip, used great iron tarkus for help with the big guy, run through anor londo, get to the painted world, kill the furry (that was also my first time even running through the area and was lucky i picked up the halberd before fighting her) and allllllll that to then realize that i was stuck in anor londo since the painted world counts as a bonfire like thing or something, really sad it was. after all that work XD
Hahaha that seems like a nightmare, specially if you aren't used to fighting O&S at a low level
Estus +4 doesn't fully restore at base vitality? Weird, I would've thought +3 would
Depends on a few factors. For this case I was using the Knights base vitality which is at 14 and using the Ring of Favour and Protection so thats an extra 20%. Some other classes and without the ring it actually might be a full heal at +3.
maaan just found your channel, really enjoying this! you've got some high quality content mate
Thank you for the support! It means a lot. I hope to keep improving the content as time goes on and I get more experience.
If you were a bird, what bird would you be?
crow bc i like crows
I'd be a magpie. I refuse to elaborate as to why. I'd rather be a fox though but you constrained it to just birds.
@@dinadanplaysravens are my favorite. I guess corvids are popular as crows, ravens, and magpies are all corvids
The fact that you play prepare to die edition and kill everyone’s eyes for lost izalith is giving people the pain we all felt back in the day (minus the single digit frame rate in blight town) and I’m all here for it lol
Haha I'm glad you enjoy! I'm not gonna put you through the torture of Blighttown though... not yet at least.

ok that one was actually funny

hes better then you
@@leoswann578 dude, it's a joke, I'm not here to offend the poor guy...
waifu run, let's goooooooooo
you need the residence key for Griggs. The master key doesn't open that door xD
Yeah, I'm glad I picked the residence key just in case but i seemed to recall not being able to open it before even with the masters key so I didn't want to risk it.
Did you not allow yourself red moss clumps? I'd think those would have been extremely helpful for this run.
Haha i absolutely could have but I'm to lazy to farm them or the souls to buy them. I also found the bloodloss to make it more interesting.
Absolutely disrespecting gwyn with the perfect estus gwyn parry lol
Lol, I'm still not great at it though. Takes me a couple of tries to get the feeling for it back.
Before watching: If I'm understanding the rules correctly, the best route would be to rush Sif, perform Sen skip, either cheese the Golem or attempt a grab cancel to clip into Anor Londo (not sure if this is possible without the Zweihander though) then rush to the giant blacksmith so he can upgrade the hilt into the true great sword of Artorias. Edit: yup, I pretty much guessed the end goal correctly... The way you reached it though, that must have been painful.
Yeah, as my first run I didn't really outline the rules properly but I wanted to do as little sequence breaking as possible. I only allowed the drop to lower undead burg to at least have a chance with the damage in the early game.
Is there any reason you prefer PTD edition to the remaster?
I actually have never tried the remaster and sure as hell am not gonna buy it full price having the PTD edition already.
@@dinadanplays ohh. I thought the original had some sort of mechanics. Hopefully it goes on sale soon. Love the vids bro
@@oasisboi Lol not really , I do acknowledge the remaster is better but maybe when I hit a sub milestone I'll do something with the remaster.
HOT DAMN! Indeed, brother. You are a man of culture. *tips hat*
Haha I see we have a fellow enjoyer of great sights.
if you WERE to allow glitches before getting the scythe, you could always skip everyone until Priscilla (or at least until iron golem bc his skip is bullshit). I've done this with the painting guardian sword before and it's honestly a unique experience
Correct, I even considered it just to plunge the Asylum Demon with a maxed out weapon, but I tend to like glitchless runs a bit more personally so although I could I prefer not to. You are absolutely correct in that everyone but Priscilla herself could be skipped.
Yep, as far as I'm aware, the route would basically be Capra Skip to get Large Ember, Sens Skip, Golem Skip (Made a little easier by O&S being Mandatory after Painted World [Bone becomes Anor Londo Bonfire on exit], so you can use the Sens Bonfire), with a few small detours along the way to grab the base weapon and upgrade it to +10 (or +14 if you'd rather grind Dark Wraiths than boss attempts)
Cool challenge! I think Capra could have been avoided though, after Gargoyles you can walk past the Grass Crest bondfire into Valley of the Drakes and get to Blighttown without passing through the Depths
Would definitely make it harder because you wouldn't be able to upgrade past +5 though EDIT: totally forgot you need a +10 to get boss weapons! My bad lol
Unfortunately yeah, the large ember is very cleverly placed there
Ah i see, a fellow art admirer
Always gotta stop for a second for it at least lol
Dark souls is definitely my favourite game series I can watch these challenge videos for hours and still not get bored
One of my top three game series 1st is Dragon quest, 2nd is Dark souls, 3rd is Doom, Top tier games that I have sunk 10s of thousands of hours, kinda weird coincidence that my favourites all start with the letter D lol 😅
If you love watching it a playing it maybe one day you'll be doing these challenge runs yourself! That's how it happened to me at least lol
All of them? Is there something I dont know? Or forget?
nah you cant kill priscilla other you can bug and dont kill them
@@szymonmiaskowski5409 Oh, ok. Makes sense. I just got so accustomed to playing in some NG+ cycle while I was making my completionist character also have all DLC stuff, that I forgot that the game doesnt start with your character being in possession of each and every item in the game 😅
Yeah, starting fresh and with no glitches allowed you do kindda need to kill several bosses to get it.
Bro, i didn't realise i watched before some other videos from you , you make really good videos, ill suscribe immediately, please never stop
Thank you! I really appreciate the support!
I've never seen that strat where you weaken yourself with power within to avoid curse in the mandatory seath death, I'm totally using that in the future
If I recall correctly as far as you die inside that room you are all good, don't even need to be killed by Seath. Very useful if like me you are terrified of curse from the original days of DS1.
Nice plot twist, in hindsight pretty obvious, but got me surprised. Maybe tune the gameplay music down a bit, during the Kalameet fight it was hard to hear your commentary
Thanks! Yeah I wanted to deviate from the Straight Sword Hilt only run since that has already been done plenty I think. Thanks for the feedback as well! I'm still learning about video editing so now I know what to keep in mind.
Hey, love the videos. I’m trying to set up a ds2 one shot challenge similar to the backlogs ds1 one shot challenge. I have a $100 prize for the winner. Let me know if you are interested
I appreciate so much the opportunity! Unfortunately I never really played much more than the tutorial for DS2 so I'm not sure I'm the best fit for this one.
@@dinadanplays sorry about the late response I switched it to bloodborne for the run because I found out that the Backlogs was already doing it. If your more experienced in that game and want to join let me know, Thank you
Skibidi Ohio riz this is cap, not bussin, frfr
i do like speak Chinese in english comment sections too
I like you man.
And I like you random citizen!
ah man nothing like being blinded by the OG demon ruins and lost izalith lol
The true Dark Souls experience
in ds2 left handed moveset is absolutely similar to right handed i think this should've been in ds1 and ds3
It should have been! I absolutely could have used a riposte on the left hand for this run for sure.
Ceaseless won't jump because you keep going the wrong way, you need to go down the other passageway/shortcut instead of the outer passageway of his arena
Ohhh is that so? I'll have to try that next time then. Thanks for the tip!
The algorithm has been blessing me with actually good smaller youtubers (relatively speaking...) quite a lot lately, can't wait to see how this plays out!
I hope you enjoyed and for sure I will be posting more in the future!
A lemon reference. I see you are a man of culture. May I ask what did you think of the one shot challenge he did for the other challenge runners?
It was absolutely mental! I actually saw some of the runs as the contestants posted them and was awaiting so eagerly the final video! Those guys are absolute madlads and I'm glad I got to see them perform such an insanely difficult run.
They are mad lads. Was really interesting how early game they all did different things but by end they had same idea.
@@scottt7309 Totally agree! Very interesting to see the different approaches and strats they started with.
If i remember one of the tracer weapons (the gold one i think?) actually has a left handed moveset as it was designed to be "power stanced" with the other tracer. Edit: It is indeed the gold tracer designed for being in left hand. Also loved the Lemon Armor reference
Ahhhh I thought it was supposed to be the silver tracer, that's why I leveled up that one! I knew I was missing something when it had the same moveset but thought that maybe I needed to wield the other as well to unlock the powerstance moveset. Thanks for letting me know!
@@dinadanplays happens the same to me always, the fact that is gold I assume it is the important blade out of the two cause, you know, gold and silver, and also the fact that someone would assume that the curved sword would be used in right hand, as where the dagger would in the left hand for quick attacks and parry, this is even more confusing when you see that the gold tracer has more parry damage, like if it was supposed to be used in the right hand, but the games says "no" and throws all that logic to the garbage, tho I think the most optimal way to use both weapons is by changing them when neccesary both in each slot of the right hand, they could have added this weapon on ds2 to promove the use of power stancing but they also said no to it
@@Sin-Nombre04 Yes! It's almost like they wanted to be interchangeable so they added details to make them useful no matter which hand you use, but in doing so they eclipsed the identity of the weapons in a way, and made it more confusing.
Intersting run, but you would have saved yourself a bit of heartache if youd referenced some source for damage resistance on the bosses. Sometimes you had excellent synergy like divine on Nito and lightning on Seath, but also I saw you fight a ton of demons with fire/chaos. Looking forward to whatever comes next
Thank you! I did take it into consideration, but I did have to consider what I had available at each point and most importantly which way would streamline the run the most. Unfortunately I did want to leave the upgrades with highest scaling for the end and that meant using the previous infusions in a not very optimal way. Thanks for your insight!
Proud to be the 134th subscriber, don’t you dare go hollow
I love your videos, I also really appreciate that you keep the in game sound in the background. Most creators completely cut out the background sound and talk over it or add music, the sounds of these games are a key part of the experience thank you for maintaining that
As a lefty. Thank you.
For most folks its easy to forget almost every game is tailored for right handed players. I hope you enjoy my other runs even if they are not specifically for lefties.
@@dinadanplays I shall.

i know this is a rare video find because none of the dark souls challenge run giants have found this and commented yet haha. great video, and could i ask what you feel would be a good challenge run to try first?
I hope I one day get a comment from Lemon from the Backlogs, JKLeeds or PressContinue! They are my inspiration to have started Challenge running. Personally the first challenge run I ever tried was Miracles only. I feel its fairly forgiving but at the same time gives you some pretty interesting restrictions. Just be sure to plan ahead and not mess up Siegwards quest for that sweet emit force.

Thank you! I appreciate the support!
I just met you but i already love you. You wanna move in together? 👉👈
Oh boy, this it too sudden. I need to think about it.
Damn simps keep linking the fire. What did the age of fire do for all of you anyway? Canonically the chosen undead walks away to usher in the age of dark, which is the reason for the world being in the state we encounter it in Dark Souls 2. The sacrifice Gwyn made was only enough to save so much. Bits and pieces we find again in Dark Souls 2, but nothing that actually survived. Same goes for DS2 and DS3. The message is plain and simple: the whole world may try and coerce you to make a sacrifice and it in fact will, but in the end no sacrifice is grand enough to save the world from darkness. Chosen Undead, Bearer of the Curse and the Ashen One, none of them could ever sacrifice enough to preserve the state of the world worth preserving for those who craved it so desperately.
I agree, but after beating the game so many times I simply change it up from time to time to spice things up.
Me caveman. Me not understand cycle of death and rebirth. Me just like fire, big fire! Big fire make me happy
I can't see anything in the age of dark, so yeah
