Hey man, i saw a few other videos where they mixed tung oil, tung oil finish and mineral spirits in the melted wax, fo you know why and whats the difference in the outcome?

Thanks for the instructions! I've got a question though, how do you wash waxed pants? Can they go in the washer as normal (only cold water with detergent)? I'm thinking of waxing the front of my pants so I can wear them as rain resistant motorcycle pants, don't really want to do up the back since I live in a hot country

I’ve been hearing paraffin wax is toxic and highly flammable. And bees wax cracks. I ordered Otter Wax. Supposedly otter wax is safer to use.

I’ve been using a crockpot to melt wax.

Parrafin wax can release a very small amount of carcinogenic fumes when being exposed to very high temps (like a candle lit on fire) while pretty safe to use on skin, especially for this application. As for the flammability, both beeswax and parrafin are used for candles because of their nature to sustain a flame but i'm not sure that it would make the pants more flammable, as the wax has to melt before making the cotton catch fire. If you were to make any waxed pants catch on fire they would probably act like a big candlewick though.

Simple and to the point 👍 another benefit to tin pants is being able to walk through heavy brush that would shred normal rain gear.

Are they to hot to wear in the summer?

Mine have breathable stretch panels in the crotch and lower back, so it helps in the summer heat, but it can't compare to a pair of unwaxed pants! The biggest problem i see for summer use is the wax melting.

Thanks for posting brother. Has the range of motion change or the comfort level?

Thank you for the comment! They are quite stiff in the beginning but loosen up over time, i've been wearing mine since i made the video and they feel kind of like a sturdy pair of jeans.
