@@sleeksilver I love my Kicks. No complaints. Its just I love the Mirages more and more than any car I have owned and I have owned quite a few. I made the same mistake back in 2019 and went with something bigger and got a fully loaded brand new Eclipse Cross SEL Touring and a year and a half later I traded it back in on my red 2021 Mirage SE. i loved the Eclipse Cross just loved the Mirages more. With them being discontinued its now or never so over the next weeks Im gona make the decision and if I do I will get one before the end of September.

@@kmckenzie2461 Oh I remember the EC, I think I've been following you for a long time now. It makes sense on the now or never part for the Mirage. It's sad they are discontinuing it and not replacing it with a newer model.

@@sleeksilver Thats cool thank you. Yea it does really suck. The Mirages are just a good little back to basics car with a long warranty, tons of features, great MPG and a low price by today’s standards. Cars are so crazy expensive now its insane. Just when the Mirages sales figures are going back up after a couple slow years with covid and the shift to SUVs and now its doing very well and its being discontinued. Then the Nissan Versa is done after next year leaving no Subcompacts Sedans.

I like the white one.

@@samarafujioma6588 Ahhhh never thot a that. Thank you! The White Diamond is gorgeous though. The top trim SE models are the way to go. My 2015 Mirage was the Starlight Silver and that color never looked dirty nor did it show scratches.

@@tazziiee1098 Yea black is sharp when its clean but you gota keep it clean. We had a Black 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport GT for 3 years and it was so sharp when clean but dirty looking when it wasn’t. Agreed.

@@pdxfoxchannel Thank you! Its a very sharp color the White Diamond isn’t it. I have owned a 2015 Mirage ES in Starlight Silver, 2017 Mirage G4 SE in Wine Red and a 2021 Mirage SE in Infrared.

@@kmckenzie2461 the outlander sport I owned was diamond white, it's a great color indeed. Worth the up charge.

@@lenamtran4789 I placed that there its a Mitsubishi OEM badge. In some countries there is a built in small dash shelf there but in the USA there is just a plastic trim pice for the area.

@@elianioriofarrell Yea the high trim SE with led projector headlights, plaid cloth and leatherette seats and the upgraded multi color lit gauge cluster is a hard to find trim even in the USA here. Its the hardest model to find and 2024 is the last year for the Mirage here in the USA. In Canada the trim that matches mine is the Mirage GT and its done after 2024 as well there.

@@kmckenzie2461 yeah it's an incredible spec, even the Japanese import sites don't have anything close to it, can't even find any leatherette seats in SE models here. How does the non multicolour cluster gauge look ?

@@elianioriofarrell the non multi color gauges are white during the day and light up one solid color at night a bright orange. The SE trim has detail to it and is lit at all times even during the day where the basic gauge cluster is not. Plus the SE has details to the gauges with chrome rings, white, gray, black and red light up details.

@@elianioriofarrell Yep it comes on 2021-2024 Mirage G4 SE and Mirage SE. It is much more premium looking than the one on all other trims.

It really is and its a good value especially in the top trim SR with the Premium Package you get so so many features for the price. Its loaded.

2025 model shows a lot of improvement

The problem with dodge is stelantis. Fiat makes junk….dodge makes junk….and the sales say it all. Dodge, jeep, Chrysler all down big time.

I actually looked at The new Chevy Trax and Buick Envistas but the Kicks had what I wanted in its top SR Premium trim for $26,000.00. In the Buick Envista I would have wanted the Avenir trim but came to $32,000.00 and it didnt feel worth the extra $6,000.00 and I was to nervous to buy a first year released all new model with the GM twins and all the issues with the screens, power windows, electrical issues and so on. The Envista was super roomy but the front seats were very flat and basic. Also the 1.2L 3 cylinder uses a timing belt vs a timing chain which is rare today and not near as long lasting. Although I think the Buick looks amazing and the sharpest in this class. My next vehicle will be the all new updated Kicks after it has been out at least 2 years and the bugs are worked out. The all new Kicks releases this summer as a 2025 model.

@@kmckenzie2461 Wish my suv was that cheap but just can’t deal with a slow vehicle. I have a suv that glues you to the seat but it comes at a really high cost 😭

@@BeamerTime354 Yea the Kicks is not fast lol. It suits my fine but I was used to the 78 horsepower of the Mitsubishi Mirages so that tells ya lol. What kind of SUV do you have? Its crazy how expensive vehicle’s have gotten today and how quickly the prices skyrocketed. Jesh like a new RAM 1500 truck can get up in to the $80K range when speced all out in higher luxury like trims and even higher for like the RAM TRX truck which is way over $100K on cars.com. Im not rich enough for anything like that not by a long shot lol.

It really adjust it right away. Even going downhill it works as an engine brake. It tends to keep the rpms like 1,500 higher but at top rpm when floored the rpms are basically the same in D or in Ds when in the 5,000 to 6,000 rpm range.

Yes and I will tell you its so much easier to see and get to being on that side. I miss it. All 3 of my Mirage ls had it there and now my new Nissan Kicks has it on the console by the gearshift which is very convenient but I still prefer where the Mirage had it on the left!

I know its crazy reading online now and you see 8 seconds 0-60 and they so how slow that is. Im like what lol? Do they forget cars from the 70s - 80s and 90s how slow they were hahaha. The Mirage always had plenty of power for me at 78 horsepower and never did I run into an issue where I needed more or wanted more. It did everything any car I had could do. The Kicks has 122 horsepower and it is plenty for me. My Kicks SR weighs about 600 lbs more than my Mirage SE did so really I dont notice to much difference in acceleration. The Kicks feels peppier pulling away from a stop like 0-20 mph but up from that and on the highway they feel very similar to me to be honest and they both use the same Jatco CVT-7 just with different programming. So even though the Kicks has 122 horsepower and 114 lb ft of torque compared to the Mirage having 78 horsepower and 74 ft lb of torque they feel similar to me due to the weight difference.

It only matters because you haven’t driven an suv that sticks you in the seat and does 3.4 to 60. Once you have you will never go back. I know first hand and speak from experience.

Great point. MPG matters a whole lot more in terms of both saving money and saving the environment.

@@kmckenzie2461 If you watch the old Motorweek show episodes you will see how they often praised cars that got 120hp. 0-60 in 12 seconds was fine. Today I guess you're expected to floor the car to get on the highway? Idk.

@@BeamerTime354 i have actually, i have a cbr600rr and yeah its fun but, other than racing from red light to red light and getting pulled over for inadvertently speeding its really pointless and a huge waste of money. im charging my prius prime for free at work; ill be fueling up once a year. i like seeing my numbers go up in my bank account. thats what gives me satisfaction, personally.

Totally agree I have alway preferred smaller vehicles. The Kicks is the biggest I would ever want to go. I so miss the super smallness of my Mirage it was so easy to zip around and park and after owning 3 they are awesome vehicles. However I absolutely love this Kicks and for $26,000.00 you really do get a loaded vehicle.

Thank you for the comment! I remember you. You still have the G20 that is awesome! I still love Mitsubishi even though I have this Nissan now lol. Who knows what I will have in 2 years. I like smaller vehicles also and this Kicks is the biggest I would ever go for a vehicle. I do miss the smallness of my Mirage but love all the features this Kicks has its loaded.

@@kmckenzie2461 Yeah I have to say the Kicks looks really upscale. I wonder what people are going to do if they want a small car from a Japanese company. Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Subaru are not options. It's amazing to me that small cars existed from the 60's to the 2020's and now they are all but gone. Everyone today wants big cars and more horsepower. I mean how much hp does one need? 300? 400? I drove a Geo for years with 100 hp and it was totally fine. Not sure if you remember the original Scion XB. What a huge amount of space in a tiny package. That was a fun car to drive. At first everyone thought it looked like a box and was ugly but then it grew on people.

One other thing. Despite my car being an Infiniti, I wish so much that it was a Nissan. The Nissan logo is much cooler and more traditional than Infiniti. In all other countries, my car is called the Nissan Primera. I never liked the name compared to Lexus and Acura either. Mitsubishi to me still has the coolest logo of all cars.

No not at all. This engine and CVT pair really well together. I have owned 3 Mirages (2015-2017-2021) and I must say it does extremely well for a low powered naturally aspirated 3 cylinder. My current vehicle my new 2023 Nissan Kicks SR Premium I purchased in October 2023 has the same Jatco made CVT-7 and its paid to a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder in it. I miss the sound of the 3 cylinders gruff and tough note 🎵 in the Mirages.

It should be done every 30,000 miles seems to be a good milage from what I hear. If you do this the chances of having and issue are far less likely. Five Star Mitsubishi in Altoona PA only changed $190.00 for a CVT flush and fill. I always have this done at the dealer in case I ever have issues it was done there.

The tires it came with were Firestone FT140 and they were not the best in the snow. They were pretty quiet and rode good but ai have to get to work when it snows so I switched them out before my car even had 1,000 miles and after tons and tons of research I got a great deal and purchased the Sumitomo A/S P03 and could not be happier and they handled the snow great and do extremely well in the rain and dry and have a good ride and handling plus a 65,000 miles tread wear rating.

Both are great vehicles. The Kicks is roomier and has a much larger cargo area and more features. The Mirage is better on gas, has a longer warranty and is smaller for tight spaces. I absolutely love my new Kicks but I also loved my 3 Mirage (2015, 2017, 2021). Cant go wrong either way!

​@@kmckenzie2461I've been considering a Mirage G4 BE and Kicks SV. I live in flat Florida so the Mirage having less power wouldn't matter much. Rarely drive on our crazy interstates! The Kicks does sound more comfortable sitting up higher, plus it probably is quieter and smoother riding. It's also a bit more expensive. Keep going back and forth from one day to the next.😆

I have an update; while I haven't been able to buy a new car yet, I am currently renting a Kicks S through Lyft Express Drive. It's pretty well equipped for a base model.
