    Hey Rob, just found your channel yesterday. I've now watched every episode and am really enjoying them. I must admit that I'm glad you've just about finished the undercarriage, as I'm sure you are. Your meticulous approach is to be admired and will pay huge dividends I'm sure. Where did you get the XT from? It's in incredible condition. The fact that you're only dealing with surface rust is amazing.

      Hey Brendan Glad you found me 👌 Appreciate you taking the time to watch all my videos. As you've probably seen, it's been quite the journey! Oh yes, I'm very glad to have the undercarriage now ready for next steps. The weather's too cold for priming now unfortunately, but as soon as we get some warm weather I'll be finishing it off! I picked up the XT about 16 years ago. 2 owner original super low milage. She's mint! I've been overseas and now about to get back into it - very keen to say the least. Stick around for more updates coming soon, see you on the next one mate👌😎

    i am doin a xf ute, thinking i might warm the epoxy primmer up by sitting it in hot water, before spraying, and warm metal up with a heat gun, not sure what the paint company thinks of that though.

      Thanks for the comment Jack. Your thoughts on heating the panel up, and also the epoxy aligns to the thoughts I got back from the manufacturer of the epoxy I use (RestoFinish). Thanks Richard. I appreciate your honesty and the time you've taken to put your feedback forward. I can understand that the genre of music may not be appealing to some of my audience, and I've been looking at changing it to a soft rock style. I don't think I will be switching the music off totally, but I've been open to changing it up to appeal more towards my viewers demographics/etc. I hope you continue to watch when I switch up the music to the rock genre. But if you really can't stand any music at all then I understand if you choose not to watch in future. It would be a shame to lose a viewer, but I don't think I can produce anything with no background music at all.

    That's a solid effort dude without a rotisserie or sand blasting.. ill never complain again about having to jack the car up to change my oil after watching you on your back. Great stuff Rob 🍻👍

      Thanks for the feedback legend 👌 It's definitely been a hard slog doing this on jack stands, but I can see the light now. Next one will have to be on a rotisserie though 😂 Really don't think I'd do another one on my back....but never say never, right? Thanks again, and see you on the next one mate 😎🤙

    Rob, you must be proud of what you have achieved so far without a rotisserie. I found using a finger belt sander in the tight areas between the chassis and boot tank sections great any areas I couldn't get I sand blasted. I found using cheap kitchen scotch pads when metal deox treatment great, they wrapped around a screwdriver and cable tied worked well in tight area. It won't be long before you will be shooting epoxy, all the best on the restoration ☺

      Definitely proud of what I've achieved Warren! It's been a mega mission but I look back over this journey and see the amount of work, and how far it's come compared to what I started with - super excited to get it to the next stages. Great tips there, thanks heaps for those! Will give them a try. Btw, your teeshirt arrived the other day...Will do my best to get it in the post this week. Thanks for the feedback and encouragement! See you on the next one mate 😎👌

    That floor brace is basically exact to factory. They are not a snug fit to the floor profile. While you're there , cut a couple holes in behind those bolt on inspection covers at the rear of the front chassis rails . That will enable you to get in and rust proof inside the torque boxes

    • @RestoHubAU
      @RestoHubAU 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great idea Greg, will definitely look to doing that idea to rust proof inside the torque boxes! You're a man with lots of knowledge, thanks legend. See you on the next one mate 😎🤙

    would be a lot easier if you had it on a rotiserie but its coming up great i used 1 of those black fibre wheels to do inside my bonnet it came up like new metal

    • @RestoHubAU
      @RestoHubAU 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the feedback mate! Agree, would be totally easier with a rotisserie but I don't have enough length in the garage and would have to keep the door open with one. Those black fibre wheels are great. I'll be using one in the wheel tubs, which you'll see on the next episode, see you then mate 😎👌

    That undercarriage is crazy for its age any secrets applying the seam sealer maybe a paint brush dipped in turps for the final wipe

    • @RestoHubAU
      @RestoHubAU 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it is very good for its age Russel! I don't think there are many around that are this good, I'm very lucky that's for sure. Yeah, I might use masking tape to create a barrier, apply seam sealer, wipe with a brush dipped in Prepsol to neaten it up. See you on the next one mate 😎👌

    • @gregh6794
      @gregh6794 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RestoHubAU Usually finger dipped in prepsol lightly over the seam sealer smooths it up. Can be fairly wet to smooth it soon evaporates
