Hands-on Review: Citizen Promaster Sky Navihawk CB5848-57L Blue Angels
More than 4 decades since it pioneered the world's first light-powered watch, Citizen continues to dominate the segment with its Eco-Drive watches.
The Japanese watchmaker’s latest version of the Promaster Sky Navihawk is powered by the Eco-Drive Caliber E660.
This quartz movement is powered by a cell that can continuously recharge under any light source and can run for a minimum of six months even in the dark.
If left uncharged in the dark for a period of more than six months, you will be alerted by the Insufficient Charge Warning Function, while Overcharge Prevention Function makes sure the cell is charged to its optimal level.
Being part of the Promaster series, this watch incorporates professional grade tools including radio control, tachymeter, perpetual calendar, alarm, power reserve indicator and a radio-controlled world time from 24 cities.
The stainless steel case and mesh bracelet add to the overall solid build quality, while anti-magnetism and shock resistance add to its rugged performance credentials.
The navy blue dial and yellow accents lend the watch a distinct appearance, enhanced by the 44.6mm case size.
This version of the Navihawk is marked by an association with the Blue Angels, the United States Navy’s flight demonstration squad.
This affiliation is denoted by a special Blue Angels logo imprinted on the caseback.
