By coincidence I recently read Girl Mode, and then this podcast popped up on my TH-cam. It was fun to hear the writer's perspective on the book. I think I read the guys as a little more mean than Mags did, which is interesting. My favorite part of the book was actually Mackenzie's journey because she really grew and was able to understand and identify with female archetypes she originally dismissed. I'm a cis girl and didn't go to a public high school so I didn't get the experience of suddenly being sexualized as much. I felt more invisible and "not really a girl." It's interesting to read about a different experience of femininity, although obviously I don't think it's a universal one.
