L4D2 Tank Run | Crash Course | Episode 27
Welcome to L4D2 Tank Run. On this episode I take on the campaign Crash Course with the original L4D crew. This campaign is only 2 missions long but boy these missions are far from a walk in the park. If you thought some other finales are bad just wait until you see what I'll have to do for this one. If I can even make it there. I hope you enjoy the video.

Welcome back to Through the Woods. After scaling the mountain we arrive at Old Erik's cabin and we find Espen. Espen reveals to us that he is ok with going with Old Erik. Erik must have some spell on him right? Either way Erik shows up and knocks us out so we must continue our search for Espen. Hopefully we can find him in time. I hope you enjoy the video.

Welcome to Episode 26 of L4D2 Tank Run. We are on the finale of No Mercy where we must wait on top of the hospital roof for a helicopter to come save us. No big deal its doable that is if we can even get to the roof. The tank spawns are not kind on this finale but that's to be expected. If we can get past the tanks in the building the roof holdout shouldn't be to difficult we have space and we ...

Welcome to Through The Woods. This is a Norwegian horror game where I play as a mother and her son. Things get bad pretty quickly as the son Espen gets kidnapped but a folklore legend Old Erik. We have to find him and bring him back but there are plenty of other horrors in these woods and it is getting scary rather quickly. I hope you enjoy the video.

Did you get the good ending
I think so. I got the ending with Point Man stopping Fettel and taking Alma's baby. I'm pretty sure that's as good as it could be considering all outcomes
Oh so this is like demon stuff okay I never knew what fear was I thought it was like a weird government War weapon or something
Yea I kind of knew what the game was about because I played Fear 2 when I was a kid. After playing the whole trilogy I learned more about the game. You aren't entirely wrong about it being a government war weapon. Armacham wanted to use Alma as a weapon to control mindless soldiers known as replicas. But that plan really blew up in their face.

In Single Player you need to collect less Gas Cans than on Single Player, in Multiplayer you need to collect all 13 but Single Player only 8 Good to leave the Gas Can in front of the elevator as the last one and use it to kill the Tanks with the fire instead. Adrenaline is your best friend since it allows you to pour the Cans much faster btw. If you really intend to play The Passing next then i highly recommend you to get familiar with the map, specially since it's the most brutal Campaign in Tank Run... Even in multiplayer it's a difficult task
Thank you so much for the information like always it is very helpful of you and I really appreciate it. I will try that strat of using that gas can to kill the tanks. I kind of forgot adrenaline does that so thank you for reminding me about that. I only played The Passing a few times and that was a while ago so maybe I will skip it and do Dark Carnival just because that is the map I am most familiar with. I trust you when you say that The Passing is the hardest map and it would be dumb of me to try that when I am not very familiar with it. I hope I am able to finish the Dead Center finale and Please keep giving me tips, tricks, hints, etc... You have been such an important source of knowledge and I was able to get this far because of your help so thank you again.

Good job bro, keep it up i will always watch your videos, for tank run😎👌
Thank you I appreciate the support.
Congratulations!! Yea Streets can be a really though level because of the rng in the dialogues, Chapter 3 is more straightforward so you will probably beat it next time! The finale though can be really though, patience and knowing some shortcuts is highly recommended!
Thank you and I will check out them shortcuts because I will probably need them for this finale since I will have to gather gas cans. I am excited to give it my best though and hopefully I can beat it and get started on the next campaign.
Nice game open end bad 😭
It was a great game experience I did enjoy playing it.
- Bile bombs slow down the tanks. - I don't recommend playing on controller at all, it limits your movement and camera so much. - Ak47 with laser sights do the highest dps. With a full team it's possible to kill the tanks one at a time as long as they don't spawn far away. 4:20 you chose poorly, never use the bolt actions snipers, they are the worst weapons in the game. They actually do less dps than Uzis and pump shotguns. - The bots have what i like to call "bot powers" where they cannot be interrupted from reviving you. This usually only helps against commons but can sometimes be clutch in tank run. - Tanks run at 200 hammer units per second while the survivors run at 220. They make up for speed with perfect tracking on expert mode. Knowing how to b-hop or at least fast climb ladders can provide just enough separation to save you. - Any full auto weapons such as the suppressed Uzi, or the m16 are good because they noticeably slow down the tanks. Every weapon does this but I prefer the m16 because of it's well rounded clip, damage and fire rate. The suppressed Uzi also does the most dps out of all of the lvl 1 weapons so it does matter. - You can shoot a tank rock in mid-air and destroy it. Only really helpful for places where you're confined to a single spot like finales. - Be careful with the tank animations. The biggest thing to look out for is a climbing tank on a ledge because they can jump and swing at you without you knowing, it only shows their climbing animation. All infected and survivor stumbles are canceled by falling no matter the height, this means that a pipe bomb throw or a propane tank can be nulled by a little curb or ledge. The tanks can switch targeting immediately upon reviving teammate which means they can hit you with the ground pound animation if you're unlucky. - Tank rocks can still hit you through doors, so don't expect to be safe just because you closed it. - Survivors have quite a bit of immunity frames after they are revived so you can use it to block a rock throw or a tank swing so the person reviving doesn't get hurt. - VERY IMPORTANT. When playing in a full lobby it can be beneficial for 1 or 2 people to stay in the back and slowly kill the tanks while the rest start the crescendos. This helps for specific maps such as the sugar mill, the bridge crescendo in blood harvest, the god damn roller coaster, or the first map on the last stand. This works very well because the tanks would only spawn on the front survivors and the leftover tanks can be killed making it a lot more manageable to back track or look for supplies. - The finales have a 10 minute timer that you have to survive, killing a tank takes 10 seconds off the timer. I highly recommend killing them instead of running away because most finales don't give enough room or have a long section before you get to it like in crash course. - You should keep the deagle as your secondary but, it is important to know that hitting a tank with a melee changes his targeting to you which can save a slow or downed teammate. Melees also do a whopping 200 damage to the 8000 health pool of an expert tank so hitting them safely as they climb could be a strategy. - It's also EXTREMELY important to use the minigun on finales, not for the dps, but because it switches the tanks targeting to the user. This is practically required for the crash course campaign due to the lack of space and supplies at the finale. - Finales can also be stingy because you need all of your teammates to be at the radio or the generator to start the event. This is bad because you can have freshly downed teammates forcing for you to wait over a minute for them to bleed out before starting the finale. Not paying attention to this can kill a run, so you should generally try to kill any down teammates that you know cannot be saved. Remember, they can always respawn in a closet later on. - General knowledge of every map is important. Location of supplies, closet locations, locations of cars/debris, and places to force a tank to climb are very useful to know. - Be patient. Even with a full team it could take several hours or multiple days to complete some campaigns. I would not recommend doing solo at all, it's a lot more tedious and requires more RNG than actual skill in my opinion. Some finales like the last stand, dead center, the passing, and crash course become almost impossible to solo so it's not worth your time. th-cam.com/video/k4TmQ2WiAsc/w-d-xo.html This are some clips of me and my friends on this campaign.
By far the hardest campaigns are Dark Carnival, The Passing, and The Last Stand.
Just a little correction about what you said about the Melee Weapons and Tanks Health in Tank Run: -Melees actually cause around 400 damage to Tanks in this gamemode since the script increased their damage a bit -In this gamemode Tanks 9nly have 5000 health on Expert not 8000, it starts with 2000 on Easy and goes up by 1000 per difficult level.
Thank you for all of the information. I am going to reply in order of each tip you told me. - I haven't seen one bile bomb on this second mission yet. Did I need to save one from the first mission? Or am I just extremely unlucky on their spawns? - I agree with this 100% I feel like I get stuck on things more often when I'm on controller. I was thinking about switching if I continue to struggle. - I thought AK-47 did the most damage but I wasn't 100% sure thanks for the confirmation. Yea I realized that snipers aren't going to cut it at all so if I see them I just keep the Uzi. - I feel like whenever I go down the run is pretty much over because I don't have enough time to recover but its good to know that I will at least get revived and not have to worry about it getting interrupted. - Thank you for the speed info I knew survivors were faster I didn't realize it was that close though. That makes sense because it always seems like they always take the best angles. I will have to learn how to B-Hop to go faster. - This is very important info. I didn't know that auto weapons slowed the tanks. I like the M16 and AK47 so I usually grab one of those if available. Also thank you for telling me which starting weapon is best because I thought they were all the same. - I knew about the shooting a rock out of the air I'm just not good at doing it lol. - That's good to know about the animations because I thought once they started climbing they were stuck for a few seconds. I will be careful around them from now on. - I think I got hit by one like that before so I really only shut doors to slow the tanks down just a bit. - I have only been doing this challenge solo but if I do a multiplayer run I will keep this in mind. Also i am dreading that rollercoaster part on Dark Carnival - I haven't done a finale yet so this is very good information to know. Running around for 10 mins seems so difficult to do if there ends up being 8 tanks so I think fighting them will be the only way. - I kind of figured that the Deagle was important and I should keep it over the melee weapons. I only really tried the chainsaw and it was super ineffective. - I will keep this in mind when I get to crash course. - I have been letting my teammates do their own thing but that got me killed a couple times on the first mission in the elevator. So is it better to down them in the safe room so that you find them later on? - I am kind of familiar with the original L4D2 maps but that's about it. I will have to educate myself more on all the other maps before I attempt a Tank Run on them. - I plan on trying to beat all the campaigns Tank Run Solo but I think you are right about the more RNG than skill part. If it becomes to difficult for me I will attempt to try it multiplayer and see how it goes. - I watched you and your friends play that mission. Thank you for sharing that. I forgot about the mods for this game so when I saw who you guys were playing as I was like what is going on lol. Thanks again for all of the information. I hope next Wednesday I will have successfully made it past streets and maybe even finish the Dead Center campaign.
@@JuggerLeft I tested melees on all difficulties. Apparently they always kill a tank in 16 swings. Melees do 133 on easy, 200 on normal, 266 on advanced, and 333 on expert. Which means that they do have 8000 health on expert. I assumed the melee damage was the same because it wasn't changed in the mutation txt file.
@@gabegrohl9437 I remember seeing somewhere that their damage on a Tank is percentage based according to their HP but i need to confirm that which would actually explain the weird consistency but their HP is set to be in the way i mentioned in the Script. I will experiment with the script setting the damage multiplier of melees to a insane value to see if it actually works as a raw value or if that multiplier ends up not affecting the damage output at all
I have some tips and commentary about the gamemode for you, but first i highly recommend practice with other people to learn more about some of the unique mechanics in Tank Run! But here some stuff: •Tank spawn is capped at 8, no more than 8 Tanks can exist at the same time not 5 •Tanks spawn every 20 seconds, so waiting in a spot can oftenly be detrimental unless it really feels like the only option and as i can see many times in stairs you could've actually progress instead of wait. •Each Tank can only throw 1 single rock, but if you cancel the rock throw by making them stumble with the explosions of Propane Tanks or Pipe Bombs that also counts as a throw. •At 15:53 you said that Pipe Bombs are useless but they're actually extremely valuable im Tank Run since in this gamemode they've been changed to be easily able to stun Tanks and make them stumble which helps a lot in inumerous situations. Just be careful to not throw it directly at them since they can sometimes climb the Pipe Bomb and avoid the stun, throw it near them •You oftenly ignored Propane Tanks which could've helped you since shooting them will make them explode and make the Tanks stumble which allows you to pass by them! At 16:47 you could've taken that Propane Tank to help you with the Tank at 16:58 and not only that but when you did go back to try to avoid said Tank it was possible to use the Propane Tank at 17:17 to stun the Tanks and go past them but you'd probably find a Tank in the way since you lost a lot of time going back.
Thank you so much for the information and educating me on this. I will try queuing Tank Run multiplayer and try to learn some strats from other players. I also am going to check out some other youtubers who have done this challenge to see if I can learn anything. I will be using all of this info in my future runs and I might be able to get past the streets level. I am going to answer all of your tips in the order you gave them to me below. - I didn't know about the tank cap I will be aware of it now (although I don't think I will ever have 8 spawned in at once) - This is very important information and it directly explains why the tanks spawn in where they do. This helps me knowing now that it isn't just random and like you mentioned I don't have to wait around I can just go if a tank had just spawned in. - This might be the most important info right here as died to rocks so many times and I am always thinking they are going to throw one at any moment. Knowing that I can cancel the rock throw with pipe bombs (Which as you mentioned I thought they were completely useless) makes me not as afraid of dying by rocks. Thank you so much for educating me about this. - I will need to start picking up pipe bombs and using them. I didn't realize how important they are I just thought they did a little bit of damage. - I will start using propane tanks more since they do spawn in quite a bit. I never did think that they could stun tanks like the pipe bomb I just thought they did damage. Thank you again for all of the information. It will be crucial to my success doing this Tank Run and you have given me hope that I can actually beat it. I will put all of this knowledge to use and check out the video next Wednesday to see if I succeeded or not.
@@NatalGaming1219 Using the cap is normally used when the team wants to use a godspot to be able to beat a level or in Holdout Finales when you're by yourself and want to run around the entire arena for the 10 minutes since maintaning the cap would mean that none of the Tanks would be able to throw rocks. This strategy is really boring though... Important to note is that in Holdout Finales killing a Tank will reduce the timer by 10 seconds so it helps them end quicker. Bile Bombs also have a purpose in Tank Run btw, a Biled Tank will move slowly for the duration of the Bile Effect. Tank Run Expert can be really grindy in some chapters because of things like needing everyone in a elevator or in a certain part of the map like the first chapter of The Sacrifice. In relation to the Gun Shop it unfortunely really goes down to luck because of the dialogue rng. Those issues that i mentioned can me mitigated with a experimental version of Tank Run that it's currently being tested in the workshop if you're interested. It makes it so you no longer need to wait for incapped players to use elevators, Whitaker will always use the short dialogues and some other QOL improvements, it's called Tank Run Testing Initiative
Thank you again for the info I attempted a run just a few hours ago and with all your tips I have been doing exceptionally better. I will try my best to fight during the finales instead of running. I haven't seen 1 bile bomb on the streets mission. Do they not spawn here? Yea the elevator on the first mission of Dead Center was aggravating waiting for my teammates to get to it. I got the longest dialogue speech 2 times in those runs from earlier it was annoying lol I will have to check that out because the RNG can be brutal at times. At least mitigating some of those issues (Whitetaker's monologue) for example would be great and make the run more consistent. So thank you again for the tips. Like I said I have already noticed improvements following your tips the only issue is getting the Cola out of that store but I'm getting close. It is nice because I am getting to that part more consistently. That tank spawn knowledge is probably the most important thing you told me so thanks again for that.
@@NatalGaming1219 Depending on the finale it's okay to run if the layout is appropriate and the bots are doing a worse job than normal, which is a common thing... No Mercy, Dark Carnival, Death Toll for example are great to run around by yourself if you're the last person alive. Bile Bombs are kinda rare and don't even spawn in some chapters You're welcome! I'm sure you will eventually be able to do it, just need some patience and practice
LEAVE A Fire behind, so the tank kill the fire it's own
I was trying that strat but it seemed like when the tanks chasing me would die, another one would spawn in front of me later in the mission making it more difficult to get around it.
