These feelings bring back some of the early days before we took off on the road full-time - having to sell things you still want to keep. We just bought a cover for our 2 bikes 😢made by Obsidian. We are traveling with them now and besides protection, it conceals them out of site. Be sure to note " transportation" on the style as it comes with elastic drawstrings and metal grommets, 2 straps that cinch under the rack so it doesn't balloon and a pretty good warranty with reviews-

    DaYuM Gary is a BEAST!!! In a good way of course. I knew Gary was serious man (from the videos at least) & shoulda known under his calm, cool & collective manner there was this man! Good on you Gary!!! Gary I live in a small country town/community that is so beautiful. Unfortunately we get people, I’m sure locals and tourists alike who either seem to think trash automatically disappears or they ass-ume someone else will pick it up. There version of paying it forward. Well I have opted to be the person they pay it forward to as I volunteer my own time on my days off at my leisure to walk around and pick trash. I’m not trying to toot my own horn “toot toot” but hell someone’s gotta take some initiative! ✌🏽

      I hear ya. So many places we've been have been trashed. When we go on hikes we take bags just because we know we'll have stuff to grab. We have limited storage for trash but try our best. This isn't the best solution, but when you see it (after a few cold ones) watch out for Gary, ha!

      @@TheJoslynJourney wow, that's great.

    • @TheJoslynJourney
      @TheJoslynJourney 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, more than enough to get a decent idea. You just have to make sure you place the sensor in the best location. For example, knowing when our water is llowest is the most important so I put the sensor down as far as it was reasonable. On our grey and black tanks, being accurate when they're full is most important, so I made sure it was closest to the top. They give good directions with the system.

  • @Knuckledragnation
    @Knuckledragnation 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Ok so a few things. First off tell Gary he ain’t the only one who enjoys being in control of anything with an engine. I’ll keep it PG but every time I hear that Ram diesel engine start up and roar I get “excited”. Secondly what happens if someone wants it who lives in Alaska? 😜 Ok all jokes aside I hope you two find a buyer. I can only imagine the price that boat would go for here in Southern California where we have only a few lakes spread out over a wide distance. 💰💰💰 ✌🏽

    • @TheJoslynJourney
      @TheJoslynJourney 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I hear ya... I think Gary gets a "rise" too with his truck, though the boat holds it's own as well 😉 And it would be just a rough thing to *HAVE* to go to Alaska if need be -- the things we'd have to do to stay on the road, ha! Luckily, as of a few days ago, the boat has been sold and went back to where we purchased it - here in Michigan. There's a bazillion lakes around here to make that boat sing. We even got to ride it out on the north side of Drummond Island. It honestly made both of us question selling it! Ah, so many areas to explore, so little time!

    Ok, I'm ready to make the change. I don't have a window large enough to access the new fridge much less a fork lift or crew! Was the door not a possibility? Not sure if removing the door frame will be enough for me.

    • @TheJoslynJourney
      @TheJoslynJourney 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @garyausher 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

    • @TheJoslynJourney
      @TheJoslynJourney 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you had perhaps scaffolding to get up there. Or some other large platform - when we installed our AC unit, we used the back of our flatbed, but you'd still need to lift it. It's not crazy heavy but keeping things from getting damaged is the hard part. We used moving blankets to protect the window area and our furniture - edges on refrigerators are SHARP and can rip/gouge things in your camper easily. Removing both the doors will help with weight and make it more possible to get in through the large windows. If you're not a Host camper, make sure to measure to make sure it will work!

Prior to this we just tent camped, but it's nice to have the comforts of a good bed! You might just have to get her into one of these truck campers to see - it's a bit eye opening - both the amount of space and the cost of these things!

    Wait a second, I need to talk about just how close that idiot came to a head on fatality. What was he /she thinking? It must of been a no passing zone. I don't think, from what I saw, it could be any closer without serious damage/injury. It came out of nowhere and gave Gary very little time to do anything. This is why I always tell my family to drive with you lights on during the day on those single lane highways. We live in upper Michigan and we're always around the top states for head on collisions because we have so many single lane highways and people are always passing slower traffic. Having your lights on during the day makes it so much safer and easier for cars passing to see you a further distance. I'm so glad you guys were safe and great driving by Gary. Wow, that was too close.

Lots of hilly areas and focusing on deer jumping out let alone crazy folks that try to pass you when they shouldn't. I'm so glad we were able to make this video to share. Yes, it was way too close. Seriously, I have enjoyed all your videos especially the how to's (watched the jack legs again today, thanks Gary), I have learned a lot. Doing these videos is very time consuming and stressful! Do like the Rose's suggest, take time off, relax, reconnect with Gary and enjoy life, we will be here when ya come back kid. Be safe and have fun!

      You had me at what ambulance 😄. I do secretly think that Gary does like doing the videos especially when he gets comments like yours! We'll be back but hoping I can figure out how to do things more efficiently or maybe just skip a week or so when I need it. I have a video for this Sunday but may take a few weeks off to regroup. But thank you so much for the message - we always love to see your comments!

    Have you done maintenance on the top unit yet? I've seen no videos on this and would be nice to see one since the inside looks different.

      We haven't done it recently, but we can certainly try to put something together. It would probably be in a few weeks though (I think I'm testing Gary's patience with another project right now). 🤣

    There's a big difference in voltage drop between AC and DC over the same length and same gauge wire. and that 3ft distance Gary was working with had no voltage drop with DC current. So that work and expense was unnecessary. he might have saved a little doing it himself but part of that savings was used up by not having electrical engineering education.

    • @TheJoslynJourney

      What area are you referring to?

    • @stevewainwright3344
      @stevewainwright3344 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheJoslynJourney There's no voltage drop on DC circuits that only run 3 ft from one point to another. So you didn't need to go with heavier gauge more expensive cable. I'm an electrical eng. by trade, with a 37 ft 5th wheel with 700 watts of power, in case you were wondering if I know what I'm talking about.

    Enjoy watching your journey and was sad thinking you were ending your full time travels and glad you’re not. Hopefully you’ll enjoy your time together now which is why you chose the full time life. Hopefully we can keep up with you guys on Facebook and meet up down the road.

      My plan is to figure out a way to balance both but perhaps take some time off. I don't really want to stop entirely, but maybe come back with maybe 2-3 videos a month instead of every week. Give myself some room, especially since the channel isn't growing enough to worry endlessly about it, ha! Hope to catch up again, are you planning to go to the TC rally?

    We love following you on your adventures but totally understand the overwhelming amount of work involved. Perhaps just three or four per year? On a side note, we had a fairly large truck camper up until last year. Loved it but after a while felt the walls starting to close in on us. We switched to a "couples" style travel trailer. Although not nearly as versatile, the additional space has felt so good! A marriage saver. LOL Best of luck whatever you decide.

      Thanks for commenting, we appreciate everyone that comes by to watch what we've broken lately, ha! I can understand the feeling of the walls coming in. I do think me painting our walls,cabinets, and making lighter colored countertops has helped dramatically with that. Now I just need to figure out how to manage life + TH-cam. We're thinking a little vacation away for now, but we'll be back!
