Hidden Latte Trail (20 Apr 24)
The Hidden Latte Trail this hike has a lot of Latte Stones and Mortar's (Lusong). There is also a cave to take a break in to get out of the sun.

Haiku Stairs (Stairway to Heaven) via Moanalua Valley Trail

GoPro video of my hike to the Haiku Stairs (Stairway to Heaven) via Moanalua Valley Trail on Oahu Hawaii. It's illegal to use the stairs with an associated $1,000 fine if caught so the alternate route is the Moanalua Valley Trail which makes this a 10 mile hike there and back.

GoPro footage of my solo adventure (out and back) to Mount SasalAguan, down into the valley of the Ajayan River to walk up the river to Takhilo' Falls. Takhilo' Falls was a huge disappointment, but Guam river walks rarely disappoint.

After my son and I went to Fonte Dam, we went to see if we can find the trailhead for the Caves to no avail and just went home. Now that you created a trail, now we can go and see the cave😂
good luck, not sure I left much of a trail thought...if you get there watch out for the bee hive since it's right above the entrance.
Next trip out I need to see if that is an underwater cave in the pool above the main falls....🤔

I’m not sure, but didn’t appear to be too deep.
What part of the island was the cave
Most of my files/notes are still in storage, but believe this was near Tarzan Falls, but you start this hike on the other side of the road from Tarzan Falls.
I spent many enjoyable Sunday afternoons on Mt Tenjo when I lived on Guam in 1970. Thanks!

I guess some people are afraid of the nature part of nature. Gorgeous falls at the end.
All these pictures and videos make me want to do this even more when I get the chance. Hope you're enjoying it. If the shelter is full can you just pitch your tent nearby? Can you camp anywhere, or is it more regulated than that?
Depends on location, but yes most shelters have tent sites or food hammock tress at the site or near by.

Thanks, as usual the music is the hardest part and limited. I may end up paying for a site so I can have more of a selection, but also have to spend the time/energy searching for fitting music 🤔

From the looks of it, the trail doesn't have many people on it, which I think would make it a better experience. Looks like you're making great time still. Hope you're having fun too.
Trygve Johnson absolutely, especially given my anti-social tendencies. I have run into a couple of smaller groups (3-4 people) who have been hiking together, but they are now 1-2 days behind me. From reading the shelter logs, there are a few scattered groups ahead of me, I’ll eventually catch them and hopefully pass them within a few days. I’m enjoying the solitude, but if I find myself in a group I’ll give it a try for a few days at least 🤪
The views look like they just keep getting better.
Trygve Johnson as long as I can get a day without rain 🤔. However, even with the rainy days there are still normally some great views.
