Somaliland is not Somalia-Italy. These two had political union and that political union is dead 50 years back. Somalia-Italy is a failed country as Somaliland is Democratic Republic.

British 🇬🇧 Somaliland got its independence from Great Britain on 26 Jun 1960 before the failed Somalia 🇸🇴 had no sovereignty meaning Somaliland sovereignty is older than the failed Somalia-Italy. We have to respect the colonial borders as an African Union approach. I wonder if Somalia-Italy call USA a break away region of England????? What about the MoU between Somaliland and Somalia-Italy in July 1960?? Is it a politically a legal agreement ?? We all know the MoU about the political union between Somaliland and Somalia-Italy was never implemented as legal agreement. That is why the Somalia-Italy political argument is always messy. Rubbish and unfounded claims. First, there has never been colonial cost that affected Ethiopia. On the contrary , it has benefited from it and was part of the scheme as it expended into and occupied in other people's land in the region during that time. Second, Ethiopia is not asking sea access but an illegal coastline and seaports for free from other countries . Third, there is no foreign inference in the region to distabilize and make problem but it is Ethiopia's own makings as it threatens its neighbors to invade by force. If it stops that threat tomorrow nothing would happen and no outside player will involve. Fourth, there is no legit country called "Somaliland" in the region that can enter of any bilateral or multilateral legal agreement with any other country in the world . It is parts of nothern regions of Somalia and its sovereign territory.

There is no legit conflict issue between Somalia Ethiopia except that the later is plain aggressor when it is trying to illegally occupy and invade to Somalia's sovereign borders. It is doing so in fraudulent way by pretending to recognize one of its regions in exchange for free coasline and ports and not only for commercial purpose but for military base and belligerence purposes. That is no no-go area. Such thing is unheard in the history of an independent and inter-state dealings and relations. So, Somalia has every sovreignity rights and reason to stand up for its legit sovreign rights and welfare of its citizens. Without ifs and buts, that is what every sovreign nation found in similar situation in the world would do.
