Curborough HSA Sprint in the 350z (2 lap and figure 8 layouts) October 2024

Back to Curborough for the third time this year. These were the final rounds of the HSA Championship on 5th and 6th October. Saturday was the 2-lap course, a new PB of 65.03 resulted in a 4th in class finish. Sunday was on the Figure of 8 course and less than ideal conditions meant good times were not achievable, best of 66.81 but good enough to win the class. Still time on the table in both formats for when I return in the future.

A return to Blyton for the second time this year. Rounds of the Barc Speed Championship and Nottingham Speed Championship. On Saturday I tackled the Eastern Circuit whilst Sunday was on the Outer Circuit. Weather was good, but I had clutch problems niggling me throughout the weekend which was a challenge. The last weekend of the Season at Harewood. This was the Saturday and as I was not competing, I went along to watch the action. Congratulations to Adam Riley (who is filmed in this video) in his VW UP! who won the Championship. The Video is mainly the road going cars in classes 1A, 1B and 1C and filmed from "Orchard" corner on my iphone.

Back to Snetterton for a full weekend of Sprinting action. Vastly contrasting weather conditions each day so definately a different approach needed. Best time in the wet Saturday was 122.93 and in the dry Sunday was 102.08 Good enough to win the class both days.

My sole visit to Loton Park this year for a round of the HSA Speed Championship. Tough day pysically as i was unwell but got through managing a best time of 61 seconds dead for 2nd in class.

Back to my local favourite hill climb for the only time this year. It was 2 rounds of the BARC Speed Championship. Saturday was mainly dry but dissapointingly my times were way off previous visits. Sunday was wet so times were a lot slower but had some fun wrestling the car up the hill. Best time of 66.63 and 72.40 for each day.

Back to Curborough for rounds of the NSCC and BARC Championships. Saturday was the figure of 8 layout and Sunday was the 2 lap course. A good weekend overall finishing 1st and 2nd in class respectivley. Best times of 65.64 and 65.57 seconds.

My first visit to Mallory Park with the Zed. Perfect conditions on the day. Had to manage the car from overheating as the fans stopped working recently but it held out well and I posted a best time of 84.74 There are still a couple of places I can improve on when I go back in the future which I no doubt will as the organisers have said there will be a full weekend event next year.

Owen Motoring Club were the hosts of the 60th anniversary of the "Graham Hill Sprint" at Curborough. We were running the Figure of 8 track on what turned out to be a great day weather wise. Getting quicker with each run, I managed a 66.62 secs when it mattered most to just pip the HSA target time of 66.71 finishing second in class. Glorious weather over the weekend provided perfect conditions for a full weekend of Sprinting action at Blyton. Both days were rounds of the NSCC and HSA Championships.
