CHUNKY C's RC ADVENTURES
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 12 เม.ย. 2020
I have been doing Radio Control hobbies for 35+ years and 20+ of those have been flying RC airplanes. If its one thing a career in aviation has taught me, nobody knows everything. So hopefully I can spread some knowledge while learning some new tricks along the way. So, come with me as we explore the awesome hobby of RC Aviation. Oh, by the way! I'm not fat, my friends say I'm just CHUNKY!!!!
Night Tundra Zero Dark Thirty Maiden.
Tha Biz finally got his Night Tundra that he has been trying to get for about a year. It was so dark that my phone camera was going crazy. I still haven't been able to capture some good Night Tundra video....but here it is anyway.

Thank you 😮
Just bought one of these i have a query? You said in the video that you only need the soft switch do you not put independent switches on the batteries as normal for charging and turning on or off the batteries before turning on/off the system. Thank you. Atb from the UK 🇬🇧
No need for more switches. Just plug the batteries directly into the unit and the single switch will handle it all. You can remove the batteries and charge on the work bench or charge in place if you have long enough charging leads. You can install more switches if that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy....but it's not necessary. Thanx for the question 👍
Thank you very much, you helped me a lot. Greetings from Mexico
Glad it helped!
Muchas gracias me ayudaste mucho saludos desde mexico
Sloppy bearings
Thank you for the upload. Now I know why my SBUS to Gyro was not working right. I was using channel 8 on Mode A as the output to the gyro SBUS in. Now I know to change the Receiver Mode to B as the SBUS out to the Gyro in. How I missed this, I'm a dummy.
Awesome!!! Glad it helped you out. Thanks for watching!!!
Mine has Nylock nuts that rest in a plastic holder that receive the landing gear screws. I lost a screw and the nut rotate just enough that the screw wouldn't engage. There is no way to access that nut. Horizon Hobby told me the fix was to replace the fuselage. I drilled two holes in the battery tray to straighten the nut and then applied a drop or two of epoxy to stop it from happening again. I also replaced the provided screws with button head socket screws to eliminate the problem of screwdriver drifting off. They also look better.
Great info, thanx for sharing 👍
Esto no es redundancia, esto es repartir la mitad de los canales en uno y la otra mitad en el otro!
COOL 🇺🇲✌🏼
So true but you almost made me through up
the vomit is crazy 😭
Great dark Flight guys.
Thanx for watching!!!
That’s really cool Chris, must be fun flying the plane with lights like that. 👍🏻
Give it a try Chris. I promise you will love it. Thanx for commenting.
TB great flying, Chris fun video the LIT Tundra looks great. Jeff in LA USA
Get you one Jeff. Hopefully you can get better a better video than what I've been able to get.
Excellent video 👏. Your explanation is perfectly clear and easy to understand. Thank you for posting this!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for commenting.
Blade 230s is too cool!
Fantastic walkthrough!
Thanx for watching
Looks as smooth as silk Chunky 😀👍
I just put my 4 star 64 together it was really nice with really nice hardware that yellow looks good cool planes
I was just looking at mine the other day. I really need to start it. What motor, prop and esc combo did you go with?
@@ChunkyC_RC I have a great running os65AX I have a homemade engine running stand that run and tune engines on works great then after I had it idling and running good I mounted it to the plane I have a 12x6 on it I used to have a 4 star 60 in 90s with that size prop plane was amazing I’m getting my old 4 star 40 ready for Saturday morning to practice on and to get back into the groove of the 4 stars
Awesome, thanks man!
And you call your self RADIO MASTER 😂😂😂
My friends just call me Radio ,😂
Interesting. The description on Helidirect (for the S2 pulse) left me scratching my head, it lists 2 batteries and a matt for a significant increase (+$64 when not on sale) even today at %15 off, it's still a $32 difference from the standard BNF S2; just not worth it IMO at that price difference. But if your getting the two batteries on top of the originally packaged and a 2nd canopy...I can jump on board. The matt is a meh addition.
Yeah, I was less than impressed with the mat but it may come in handy for some things. Glad to help, thanx for the comment.
Nice Chris, looks like it will be a fun build. 👍🏻
OH YEAH MY FRIEND VERY NICE ✌🏼🤩
Hi, Chunky C! What did you do to straighten out your Commander from pitching up? I also moved my batteries as far forward as I could, and it's still floaty. CG looks good... I had to put ~20+ clicks of down elevator on the trim. OR just fly ~35-40% most of the time to stay level. -mikey
If the CG is correct then make sure all flight controls are neutral. Never assume the factory got it right. If the flight controls are neutral then it could be an incidence issue, but it being a foam molded plane, there's not much you can do about that except to trim it for neutral. Fly the plane and trim at around 75% throttle (or what % you normally fly it). When you land, take a look at the position of the elevator and re-center the trims. Disconnect the ball link from the elevator control horn and adjust the ball link until the elevator is in the approximate position that it was in when it was trimmed. Continue flying, trimming, and adjusting until it flies level when all trims are neutral. It may take a few flights to get it right, but hey, you were planning on flying it anyway. Do this on all surfaces, aileron, elevator, and rudder. All planes fly a little different. I do recall my Commander having a tendency to pitch up. I just trimmed and left it. Also, if you trim step in your radio is set to "fine" then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Hope this helps...
Hi Chunky C! (subscribed) - You're right, 4S is sweet with this baby. I'm a newbie, so I tend to keep it 50% or less throttle most of the time. But every once and a while gotta go balls to the wall!! :P Also, I lost a screw on the landing gear. This time I added Loctite as you mentioned! -mikey
That's funny bro😅😅😅😅
😁
Can you do redundacy Rx's and servos with Spectrum's DX transmitters?
The only DX transmitter I have is a DXe that came with an RTF. I have never tried it, but maybe I should. If you have a DX transmitter and a few receivers then give it a try on the workbench. If I was to bet, I would bet it will work.
Can we mix a surface system with an air receiver?
No, you can't. Even though they are both 2.4 GHz and the same protocols, they are slightly different in frequency. Pretty much all manufacturers have been doing this since the days of 72 MHz to prevent someone with a surface radio from shooting down a plane. That's why the manufactures such as Futaba and Spektrum sell separate air and surface systems. Thanx for the question 👍
@@ChunkyC_RC well futabas compatability chart it is then wish i could have more telemetry then a 304sb
Thank you for this. unpairing then pairing again solved this issue. I have another issue with a new S2 maybe your willing to take a look at on my channel. I noticed you have a bible app on your phone, Thats a must have imho! Thanks again
COOL ✌🏼🤩🇺🇲
VERY TRUE MY FRIEND 🇺🇲✌🏼🤩
You still can’t say that
That's a dangerous word to use at the field nowadayz LOL!!!
@@ChunkyC_RC You must live in California.
Nah 🤣
I've managed to get mine to connect once, and since then it refuses to connect. When I click on goosky-ios from that scan menu, it will attempt to connect, i will see it say connected with a green background, but then I'll get the message, connect device timeout, and it will go back to orange.
Nice JR radio
Thanx. I've had it a while
What do Americans talk so terrible?
😳🙄😁
What do? Hmm what do ( fill in your birth place) speak so badlyer! 😅
... I can't get it to work on my particular fuselage no range check put it in a foamy and it crashed I can't get this to work with this Adirondack extension All the way down the fuselage
Some wires with silicone jackets need more work and heat to get them to stay twisted.
The manual sucks
Nice technique. Thank you for the video.
Thanks Bud
What batteries are u running? What the biggest size 2200mah 6s you can fit.
Since I just started the build, I haven't selected my batteries yet. I'll probably stick with an approximate 2200MAh battery...maybe a little larger. A lot of heli guys like the Pulse batteries. Thanx for the question.
I have a low rf signal when I startup my drone could this possible that because of the vtx is damadged or why is this?
What's a VTX? If your drone has a carbon fiber frame, make sure antenna ends are as far away from frame as possible.
@@ChunkyC_RC I heard it's because when my TX is disarmed my VTX automatically set's it's power lower is that possible?
Have you range checked when you got the low signal? Maybe it sees the telemetry signal as rssi and thinks it's low. I don't know much about drones and video transmitters.
A very nice kit that is Chunky!! I think it will really pop with the Orange accesories!! Great Job 😀👍
Good video Chunky! You were right to go with the Align over the RS4, the OMP4 or the god awful R42, purely and simply in my view due to value for money, ease of spare parts and crucially, community support and experience with the setups for each one. Good job.
Thanx 😁
Im new to this hobby, atleast in a serious manner, and literally no where i have looked to solve my issue, reccomended this. Makes total sense. Doing it now. Thank you. Keep losing signal on my flysky ct6b at like 60 feet. Driving me crazy
Have you taken the back off the transmitter lately? If so, make sure you didn't accidentally unplug or wiggle antenna wire loose from its connection point.
Keep in mind that this usually helps minor glitching and minor signal issues. If you are having full blown brown outs you probably have another issue.
Just ordered the exact same setup, thank you.
I put the plane on the ground and pulled out the antenna of the wreckage And put it on top of the tail and sure enough the interference went away.... Then I put it back inside the fuselage on the ground and sure enough the elevator was going crazy
It's a fact that antennas don't play well with fiberglass and carbon fiber.
Elevator servo inside the tail long leads of a fiberglass fuselage Next to the antenna on 72 MHz and it went right into the ground after 3 or 4 days.....
Always great fun to fool around with ha Heli, unless it’s windy, then that gets crazy fun. 👍🏻
That heli is so tiny, I couldn't imagine it in a 15-20 mph wind. That little thing would be all over the place. Thanks for the comment Chris. I hope your well.
Chris looks like a stable Chopper if there is such a thing and fun for flying in the yard. Jeff in LA USA
I think I'm really gonna enjoy it, Jeff. You should get one too buddy.
