PREPPER FOR THE AGES
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 13 ธ.ค. 2020
This channel is about all things concerning prepping for the elderly and/or differently-abled.
No one in the prepper community has addressed this, but it's something that everyone needs to know. Sooner or later either you or a loved one will need a little help. I'm here to say not only is it possible, with a little preparation it can be done.
Please take a look at the videos, and if you like please like and subscribe!
Cheers,
Jill at Prepper for the Ages

Your quails seem to be in a very good shape and healthy too so that is nice.
They look great!☺
They sure do get big fast and almost to big for the brooder 🙂
Filling the water system so they learn how to drink from the cups.
Well your chickens look nice and healthy and that is good and they obviously have a lot of energy too.
If this is a community/neighborhood problem, then having the township involved in educating them may be another route. Bring it up as an issue at town council meetings 👍
Place hardware mesh anywhere that you don't want any mice/rats/etc to get into. Plant natural things that rodents dislike like: sagebrush, lavender, citronella and mint. Sprinkle cinnamon around where they come and soak cotton balls in vinegar and place them in the rat burrows. Encourage owls to nest in your area by building an owl box, bird bath, reduce lighting because owls don't like that for hunting at night. Keeping your grass short will dissuade rodents but owls prefer a taller grass because it helps with encouraging them to come so owls can hunt. Put all these rodents your catching in an area where big birds and owls can eat them. Maybe make a platform on a perch. Hope some of these ideas help 🙂
YOU NEED A GOOD CAT
it worked
rats are super smart
Not really
Well, there are a lot of crazy nutcases out there and if they hunt on your property without permission well call the cops too. Great video thank you for sharing.
This is a nice looking brooder set up. It appears that you have plans to grow your flock? Hard to believe how fast the quail are growing, wow.
Thank you! I figured if I was going to do it that I'd do it right. Yes, when I go in to change their bedding every morning, I'm amazed how much bigger they've gotten.
@@prepperfortheages878 That was a smart plan 💕👍
I had someone that kept putting a stand up in my woods. I talked to them about it a couple times. Finally I just cut the tree down they had the stand in.
👍👍
Crazy people 🤔
👍👍
👍👍
Am so psyched!
That's cool
So cute and growing fast 💕
Wow, are they ever getting big fast.
They're growing their feathers in! 🙂 💖🐥
good friend 🟥
Very cute. One was just trying to get some shut eye and the others kept waking her up but she was determined to get some rest, lol.
That's a better critter to see on the cam unless of course it's eating your entire garden, lol.
So adorably cute♦
They're like little babies, they run around then fall asleep wherever they are. 🙂🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥💤💤
So cute chickens and i hope the other will hatch as well .
oh cute this
👍👍👍
Ah how cute is this. Five so far, hurray 😃💕Gosh, up to 48 hrs seems like a long time wait, but I know nothing about incubating. So happy for you 👏
Awwww, look at that baby! You're doing an amazing job ❤
awww so cute! ♥
wow, quiet kids. good idea
Wheres the water fountain?
They'll stay in the incubator 24 hours because the feathers need to dry out, then they'll get scooped up and put into the brooder. Have plugged the brooder in so it'll be warm when they get in there. 🙂
Ohhhhhhh, did I see some cracking in two of those eggs on the right hand side? Egg citing 😃
nice
And in alls minds, in all ears he bellowed in power and might, "May thee hatheth thy desires, May thee have abundance, let there be eg- an egg." ❤😂
I'm looking forward to seeing these little quails hatch out 💕
How exciting! I can't wait to see what happens. Little fluffy quail are so adorable. May your hatching be blessed ❤
Thank you! Am hoping for the best.
Give me incubator link buy ❤
They sure are big that's for sure.
There's a house a few hundred meters away that cleaned out their side yard of brush and tangles, am wondering if that's the root cause?
@@prepperfortheages878 Could very well be. Established colony that's been disrupted and now on the move. Looks like they are trying to settle in close. Perhaps there is another food source (neighbor that also has chickens perhaps that is not as diligent as you). They will settle where there is easy food.
@@AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu I think you're right. There's a retired firefighter across the street, not sure he brings in his chicken feed every night like I do.
@@prepperfortheages878 It would be a good opportunity for you to go have a chat with him and just ask if he has been experiencing an rodent issues. Perhaps tell him what your cam has shown. Hard to say how new he is to having chickens. Wouldn't hurt to have a friendly chat about the problem none the less 🙂
Too big to be a rat?♦
Seems like the neighborhood is getting overrun with big fat rats. No idea where they're coming from.
Rat?
Rat.
Yeah you have a hoarder there my friend thank you for sharing really beautiful video.
You'll just have to keep trapping them until they aren't an issue any longer. I do think someone has done something in your area to either draw them in or disrupted a large nesting site. I could be wrong but they are being drawn for some reason........
I shut the chicken roost every night so no rats get in, and then take the feeder inside the house. The water I dump out so they can't get a good drink. But IMHO there's still a scent of chicken feed so they come right over. Thank you for your thoughts, will drive around the area slowly to see if anyone has any construction going on.
@@prepperfortheages878 Your most likely right about the compost piles. Yes, they will still come due to a scent of feed but you are doing everything possible on your end.
They certainly seem active and busy. I would agree they are multiplying. Has there been any recent construction in the area that may have uprooted their nesting spot perhaps?
Not that I know of. Am thinking we have a lot of 'green' people who have compost piles... but they don't know enough to bury their kitchen scraps with a shovel. Those critters look well fed.
@@prepperfortheages878 Ah, yes. This could certainly be the case and play into the reason you found a dead rat in your live trap, lol.......only "green" until rats come around and bring problems and then the poison comes out.
Beautiful dog
Thank you!
Here's to being a team Prepper for the Ages 😃I don't have a holiday turkey or ham bought yet but we already had our Thanksgiving dinner here in Canada. Not sure what I'm doing for Christmas yet but I have other foods prepped. Today I'm making a big roasting pan of hamburger stew to enjoy as a meal tonight, probably tomorrow as well and the rest will get frozen for future use. Thanks for saying hello and sharing your thoughts. Prepping is an important subject and the majority of people are not so ready if anything did happen.
👍👍👍
Thank you, my friend, for sharing and well, how things will end it depends on the result of the election and no matter what it will affect the world in a good way or a bad way it depends on who wins. And if we have bad luck, it can be real problems it can be civil unrest. But as you said hope for the best and prepare for the worst and i have shared your video out and a 👍as well for you.
Thank you Shadow!
@@prepperfortheages878 You are most welcome my friend.
I am as ready as anyone can be in this uncertain world we live in♦
We need more Anne Hayns in the world. 🙂
