Topwater Popper Bass Fishing | Fast And Furious
Went out fishing with my buddy Shawn and I managed to land quite a few largemouth bass. I was unfortunate to land any hogs myself but Shawn landed plenty and got 2 that measured 18 and 19 inches. Next Time I get out there I will bring the frog.

    Older video, but i fish a couple old, clear gravel pits...deep diving suspending jerkbait, a 1/2-3/4 oz flutter/casting spoon, a shad/baby bass color senko type bait on a weighted wacky hook, and a big topwater walking bait...usually the bass suspend in these types of fisheries I've noticed...a white or shad color soft jerkbait is also a great option

      @@bradleecaldor6567 yes it is heavy but I did find them well built. However it is hard to beat the Crescent line or any Kayak that is built lighter and glides faster. I also have the Crescent LiteTackle (tan) and wife has the Crescent UltraLite. Out of lots of research and trying out several makes, Crescent has been the best. Speed is there but maybe more important is 'ease of paddling.' The hull design also gives it great maneuvering with little effort.

    Oh, I meant to also say; That Crescent is very fast for being the dimensions/fishing kayak.. Sure you could get one of those long narrow racing kayaks but they are not the tool for fishing. I've compared it to many kayaks made for fishing and this is almost as fast as my Generation 1 Hobie Quest 13' fishing kayak.

  • @johnstipic1628
    @johnstipic1628 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I own the same Lite Tackle as you. Mine weighs all of 75 pounds without the seat. As long as the water is deep enough to keep the keel from dragging, the Crescent is an awesome machine!! And I agree as for paddling up stream, the Crescent cuts easily through the water. It's one of my favorite to paddle in deep enough water.

    Great comparison. Do you think the lite tackle could work for a one man throw in the bed of the truck and go to the lake for a quick afternoon trip? or is the craft too big that? Also do you this thing would be nice in flat water?

    • @YakAngling
      @YakAngling 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would most defiantly recommend it for that. I can flip my LiteTackle up over my head to throw it on a roof rack and haul it on my car but even more easy to load in a truck as I do usually. That kayak works fantastic on flat water. So far of all kayaks the LiteTackle is the most versatile to paddle and throw and go that I have used. I recommend it.

      @@PhillyFanatic1 I have heard the CK1 may be a bit more stable on flat water because the kayak haul design and if that's what you fish the most I would consider it especially if you consider standing to sight fish or the need to stretch your legs a bit. • @YakAngling
      @YakAngling ปีที่แล้ว

      I did take a chance to watch it and yeah I can see some similarities in my build, but I see similarities in many builds from others as well with different concepts. However, I used "steel EMT pipe and fittings" not "aluminum to weld permanent". As for my build it can be changed by EMT fittings. I did not use brackets to hold the sled in place on my smitty sled like he did. I used eyelets to offer a way to strap the sled to the smitty sled to prevent it frim slipping around and keeping the ice shack tight to smitty sled. I see that build was made 4 years ago by NDYAKANGLER and I doubt he was the first to build one like that. I took my ideas from my own concept. I'm a machinist by trade and my job is in design and manufacturing so it's kind of in my wheelhouse of work. I can't say I owe him a shout out for my build, however I did like his sledski to from what I saw. I do have plans to make some additional add-ons to the smitty sled that I built as it will show more reasons how mine differs from others. I hope that clears things up and thanks for checking it out. Tight lines Steve!

    • @YakAngling
      @YakAngling ปีที่แล้ว

      It works fantastic. I needed a net that can collapse for backpacking in BWCA and to pack away in my kayak. The function of the collapsing net still performs like the nylon net but I have more control of the fish as the rubber is more forgiving and causing less trauma on the fish scales and also on a trout's skin. Hand down the best decision making this conversion.
