I found a white gold ring that came up as 6. Gold can ring up much lower.

Ok, my mistake everyone, I just noticed that i had my Equinox set at 20 and above, i should have reset the numbers, that is why the 2 gold rings were not coming up, because their numbers would be around 15 - 19 i reckon

When I’ve watched the gig master in the past he has a plastic basket (with holes) that he can empty his scoop of shells into. It’s held up in the water by pool noodles zip tied to it. Then he can use his pinpointer to quickly find the metal. Just a thought.

I just bought one today, I was curious what are you thought on it, deep targets coverage etc. Do you prefer it over the stock coil 11" for beach.

The problem with your indoor testing you are testing up and down coil when it should be sideways so your coil should have being standing up not sideways and when testing outdoors You have to know what setting you have because it makes a huge difference Boost or fine or coarse and sensitivity minimum or max also Ground balance at the beach first and if switch is at Difficult soil or at normal soil can increase or decrease depth quite a lot So in another words your test showed that it was working But not to the full potential when you have all settings properly for the right area to get the most out of it cheers

That is an incredible idea to clean up a coin. Can you do a rubbing on the coin. I take a piece of paper from my printer and will rub the lead from a pencil to try to capture the image on the coin. Rubbings are not typically clear or crisp. They are used to help visualize what an object looks like, but are not a completely accurate representation.

Rookie mistake for me this weekend. Went camping at Barwon heads & my detector went flat. Now have put spare chargers in the motorhome 😝
