มุมมอง 45K12 ปีที่แล้ว
E H Scott 26 Tube Special Communications Receiver circa 1940 - Working one of a kind - Dual Tuners on one Chrome Chassis. Hi-Fidelity AM with Separate Bass and Treble controls - Shortwave BFO - Ham Bands - Separate Chrome Power Amplifier & Power Supply - 12" Scott Electrodynamic Speaker & Metal Enclosure.
Nice shortwave radio! Awesome!!
❤ I have not this one but the navy types two types heavy big guys some use magic eye tubes the others don’t have the eye tubes very nice video
It's a hi-fi receiver ! Where to buy ? Or the schematic !
Nice piece of history! But did you have to assault my hearing by running the receiver at FULL VOLUME??? Really! I have my computer at 0 VU for normal listening to voices (yours) and when you turned the receiver on my hearing was almost destroyed. Yes, I get that you are proud of your E.H. Scott, probably as proud as I am of my pristine National HRO with all the coil sets, doghouse power supply, and Speaker with the diamond emblem. Very good, I've had my rant, maybe you will turn it down the next time, and I'm done here.
wow.....the guy doesn't know how to use his own radio ? How can he be that age and not know the difference between CW and RTTY ???
The best
Needs to be reshot in high quality video. 480 video sucks.
What a monster!
The Swiss Army knife of relievers. What an amazing device. Beautifuly restored... I assume restored! Wish I was an NJARC member back then to have seen it in person.
Hi
After sony National Panasonic and Grundig, at next level I found Collins Hummerlund Hellicraft but now this shows me another level of rf engineering
May be even better than Collins R 390.... also ultra expensive... last sold on ebay for 15 000 dollars.. Thanks for share
that receiver looks like it would be superb for CW/Morse Code reception....love the bandspread, and the extra goodies....built like a tank....a high quality one....
What a beautiful old radio and sounds superb.... Why would anyone want to go digital when you have something like this to listen to!?
very nice..sweet rig..
Красивое радио и звучит хорошо
Yes, it is amazing.
any schematic for this receiver?
That is one beautiful radio. I have a few boat anchors, an R-390 and the 75A4 along with some old ham rigs. Great video, I would love having this radio in my collection ... ... ...
I had am EM Sargent military regen when I was a teenager
What a beautiful radio.
i like old radio... narrow lc tanks supress noises... and works best than modern SDRs...
Great!
I'd almost kill to discover where this radio resided at during the war. I have a '39 Phantom Deluxe at my mountain cabin, but sadly, there's not much interesting material in the world of Dx anymore.
They put it in ships so they could play music and not get detected by u boats picking up the frequency this is a very rare radio for that purpose
That's not a boat anchor, it's the whole boat.
Wonderful !!!!!!!!!
most impressed, packs a lot of sensitivity
Beautiful radio, Rich!
This radio must have cost a fortune.
At the time this radio was made 1600-1700 was the police band. If you watch a movie from the 30's or 40's and see a squad car with the antenna mounted on the rear bumper bent over the roof of the car and strapped to the front bumper 1600-1700 would have been the band they used
Beautiful radio. How about a more detailed video explaining the history of this radio? Any idea of how many Scott made of this model?
At the time of this video...there were 12 Scott Specials known to exist
The Scott was sold soon after this video was produced.
O wow. that is great receiver. W4GSM
That is a thing of beauty. :)
That is a very nice communications receiver. Seems like a very sensitive set, and was made very well. Thanks for sharing the video.
What kind of goober would give THIS video a thumbs down? Boggles my mind. Beautiful set and I'd LOVE to own one of those rare beauties! 73 de KX5JT
What a beauty, thanks for sharing
Fabulous radio. Never saw one of those. I'm a Hallicrafters collector and the closest receiver to the EH is the SX-17. Really nice, great job restoring it.K2WH
amazing radio, they don't make them as good as this one anymore now all with lausy varicap who have determinated lifespan
Great Demo & Radio! Thanks - Lloyd WA9NLA
Would love to have a play with that. 73's from the UK 2M1VFO
Extra cool--love sw and lw
great Radio. :p never SAW B4. have fun with IT. GREAT! Im Radioamateur too. :)
who are the people that use Morse code now?
+Al Taqiyya Ham radio operators
+Al Taqiyya You have to learn morse on the advanced amateur radio courses. The rules have relaxed a lot since i passed in 1995, but to operate higher power levels and full use of all the HF/VHF/UHF bands, you still need to learn morse afaik.
+Mark Bartlett Morse code (cw) was completely eliminated as a requirement for any amateur radio license almost 15 years ago.
I came across an article from the magazine Radio & Television from 1940 with diagram of the 26 tubes New Scott communications receiver. On TH-cam I found your video about same. If you are intersted in this article and diagram I could scan and send it to you. Let me know your email address in case you are interested. Andre, ON7UM at andre(dot)montald{a}gmail(dot)com
I have it Andre'...but thank you anyway!
I have always been interested in Scott radio dow I never owned one or knew any one who did I wonder what was this one like could it pull in stations from all over the world even a few watt ones???
I have over 100 vacuum tube receivers and I stand amazed at the E H Scott Special. Looks like your using an outboard HI FI Mono Block Amplifier as well. Great video!
That looks like an EH Scott Phantom power supply/amp off to the side there.
Now that's a radio! I have some tube radios, I guess 8 it so but nothing this nice!
Made in Chicago-beautiful!
