George was the real deal. He was a fine man, a Christian, a blessed vocalist. He and Glen were the soul of the Cathedrals, and southern gospel music. When I was very young I played piano and sang in a quartet of high school boys. We actually sang with the Cathedrals a few times, and they always treated us so nicely. They would even get us on stage to sing a song with them, and I got to stand beside George. Hearing him right in my ear, not through a PA, was awesome. Later in life I played at shows with tens of thousands watching, and even performed in Carnegie Hall, but nothing ever topped standing beside George.
Love.good sone
George had NO CLUE when he drank himself silly that God was calling him to SONG service...and that music ❤ would lead many to life in Christ! 🎉
i love this 😒

Oh how I miss George Younce.
I saw the Cathedrals in concert many times, I always thought he was the best. A beautiful voice and hilarious sense of humor.
Love this man. He'd come to powder springs GA.and eat BBQ. We became friends and some of his family did as well.
Where did he used to eat BBQ?
Unforgettable voice. He was top notch
For me😢 it's not only the singing 😢.
Nice! Ernie Haase sounded soooo good. Young!!!

You don't see any other groups, then or now who stray from their " scripts". Praise God these men did. I'm in tears listening to Softly and tenderly Roger's playing on piano.
Gerald Wolfe, the real deal!
Whenever the world is getting the best of me I just pull up the cathedrals on TH-cam and crank the volume. If George and Glenn can’t sing you happy you are in serious trouble. I only wish I could have seen them live. 😢
They were excellent
Beautiful rendition of a classic. I used to look forward to this part of the show.
" I love old people "
Ask God if he sounds flat!!!!
