Hello there from New Zealand. Im currently builxing a 1/12 scale F111 edf. Having trouble with the main and front gear. Are you willing to share a pdf dimensioned 3 veiw. I'm only modelling of off a monogram 1/48 plastic kit, details arnt that great. Thank you in advance

Nice to see this aircraft modeled. It is one that is on my bucket list. Thank you also for posting the spec's. I see that you are using a 1400 kv motor with a 7x4 prop. If you go to an 1800 Kv motor with the same prop on 3s you will get quite a boost in performance. Also a lighter 1300 Mah 3s will reduce your all up weight and further boost the performance. Kudos on a very nice looking build.

Having had the opportunity to work on the similar Cessna 182RG gear some time ago, you're partially correct. That aft trunnion mound and the interface with the gear leg is spot on, but the rack and pinion setup is not what the real one uses. The real one uses a hydraulic cylinder on each leg to independently retract or extend each leg. It's lighter, had fewer moving parts, and is easier to perform repairs to. But, it sometimes causes them to wobble a bit during retraction and extension as hydraulic loads shift from side to side. Your design does fix that little quirk, but would likely be too heavy for actual use due to the rack and pinion system, not to mention the FOD risks and the difficulty of keeping that lubricated properly.

You are correct. I did not include the shortening mechanism into this model. I couldn’t find any info about it on the web.
