We bought ours from a breeder, and we’re under the impression he was a mini, but he has fallen into this middle unrecognized tweenie category, and weighs 19 pounds, but looks normal…to me. Then again, I’m “grandma” so he’s a perfect and handsome little guy no matter what. But, we are trying to get him down a couple pounds to prevent any back issues, or anything related to weight gain. However, at one of his checkups during the year, the bet changed his paperwork to a standard. I’m just not sure what he is, besides adorable.

He was the best little dog ever I was three years old then and would play with him every day. sadly Buster was ran over on my Birthday it was the worst day ever. I turned four that day . I have been thinking of Buster a lot lately I never got over that and to see this video about the new designer dog is a God send every thing they talk about I remember about Buster he wanted to play and he was cuddly and so cute. I am going to look for one. I’m 70 now but still have room in my life for another docker. Thanks for the Video

I had mini's most of the time, but back in 2007, I adopted a standard Doxie. He was 45lbs. Not fat, just THAT big of a boy. When my son was 18 months, Chester was still bigger than him and sat up taller. I made the mistake of teaching Chester to sit up and he got a treat. So anything he decided he wanted, he would walk up to and sit up regardless of what it was. The fact that his hind legs, when he sat up, formed 3 sides of a square earned him the lifelong nickname of SpongeDog SquareButt. www.anklebiterwoodworks.com/20150119_155251.jpg

My late but beloved BFF, Benny, was a short-haired red w/black dapple “tweenie.” His weight fluctuated between 14-17 pounds, and you could tell he was smaller than standard dachshunds but noticeably larger than a mini such as his “sister” (we adopted him from a family in which the wife thought he was too much of a handful with a newborn around although her husband liked him; after “dumping” Benny, she dumped her husband a couple of years later).

My dachshund is protective of me and will get between the person and me and bark at them until I hug them or get next to them, then she'll stop. She also has different barks I am starting to recognize: loud for the black cat that sits in front of her window, only one bark for UPS or Prime vehicle. High pitch bark for my daughters and no barking at my mother.
