I'm Josh Hoversten a semi-pro fisherman based out of Central Minnesota. I'm also a fishing team member for Stop Light Bait and a Pro Staff Member for Jiffy Ice Drills.
I started fishing at 14 and was immediately hooked after catching a walleye on a local lake. It has been my life passion since and I want to share that passion with all of you.
Three years ago, I decided to build my brand - Hooked On Minnesota. I have a TH-cam channel where I share videos and tips, an apparel store with branded clothing, and soon I will be preparing to get my captain's license.
My goal is to make fishing my full-time job, and become a local guide. Thanks for following the journey!

Outstanding video. I have a Minn Kota Powerdrive BT Electric-Steer Bow-Mount Trolling Motor with Digital Maximizer, 55 lbs Thrust, 54" Shaft on my Pontoon. Do you know what kit model you bought? My model is 1358737, because, a person from my group sent me a message. He said that he called the company and told me that Powerdrive is not always upgradable. Thank you for your help!

I live in central Florida so I can only catch large mouth but I hear small mouth are a better fight pound for pound. That being said any bass is a good bass. Great catch and keep them coming 👍💪

Should of when with the 1850 impact XS or crossover bass xs.....your going to be disappointed when 32 mph if your top speed......with an 18ft xs ......you get a 150 merc xs motor rigged up....my 15ft g3 with a 40 hp Yamaha 4 stroke goes a tiny bit faster than these.....if you have 3 buddies and all thier gear.....you will be lucky to hit 25 mph...
Buddy most guys don’t care for speed in a fishing boat, that’s why we have cars. And the 1875 impact is double the cost of this. I’m sure he enjoys the rebel and that’s all that really matters
@spenser7977 lmao just about everyone I know wants to go a bit faster on the water....especially on some of the lakes up here in northern mn..... I have 2 boats.....2020 G3 150 outfitter for ducks and small ponds with sketchy launches.... and 721 Phoenix with a 350xs......I live on Leech Lake in northern MN... 112,000 acres.....my G3 going 34 mph would take well over an hour to get to some of my spots......my 721 gets there in 15 min going 73mph.....you can do alot more fishing in a faster boat.....best advice I can give when buying a boat....is always buy a foot larger than you think you need....everyone owns a boat in the land of 14,500 lakes......and anyone I know thats bought a 17 ft boat that's NOT tiller operated.....wished they got the next model up.....and if he could go with last year's model....An impact 1850 woukd be almost same price as NEW REBEL.....and on a 15 yr loan your talking 20 to 40 bucks a month......my 2020 G3 is worth around 15,500...... a 2023 is about $25,000.....and identical......just had 20 hrs of use on the 2020.....Still under warranty.....any manufacturer defects have been addressed......never ever buy a BRAN NEW boat......the second that shit touches the water it looses 1/4 its value ...... couple yrs old with low hrs.....and low idle times......is what you want......don't troll at idle with loud motor......I've seen 2 yr old boats with 100s of hours because they literally troll for hrs on end every weekend....with main motor and not their TROLLING MOTOR......stay away from those.....

I bought a tracker pro guide boat from cabelas with a powerdrive trolling motor on it.. but I just called the people at cabelas and they said it isn’t capable of the I pilot upgrade

Hey I wanted to tell you thank you for posting this video you made the install of my ipilot easier so thank you. You were the first video to pop up when I searched power drive I-Piolot conversion install.
In April I caught my personal best walleye which was 26inches, I've only caught 2 walleye in my life so far

@@HookedOnMinnesota I agree. We have a bunch here on the James River in Richmond Va that are all mostly small but man do they have fight.
