Interesting video thank you I have had my 3d printer a year now with absolutely no experience in CAD or 3d printing iv printed silly easy prints that the market is just full of I’m trying to find something too that would be really practical to someone’s life but I still can’t get there
I have the same rack now and was wondering if you ever found anything to put on the top of the four post. It seems strange that it came without some kind of cover and I'm not good enough to design things like this yet
Great video & motivation! You got this!
Roger, I was watching this video and when you told me to ask myself, “AM I DUMB”, I immediately answered, NO. But the wife was in the background yelling YES! So your little trick will have to wait for warmer weather when I can torch things outside! 😅.
🤣 My wife says the same thing, but she's not here to stop me.
5:44 I feel the same way. I have to make something functional and usable. can't make those dragons and cute things (can but won't)... . Great video as always!
I wouldn't stress about small imperfections for functional prints. If it's not atheistic people won't really care.
I agree, unfortunately it's me for some reason I just have to fix stupid things like that. But I have to use it sparingly because there are times where I've melted things that didn't have super thick walls.
@@tenmilecreations I bought a heat gun just for fixing stringing, but it's also a safer way to peel off residue. Read the instructions if you get one though :)
@ instructions, never... 🤣
Unrelated to the video, but how haven't i put the slicer on dark mode yet, that should come default
So much easier on the eyes
You don't have to modify the model, just adjust the print settings and save the profile for that PETG.
The Elegoo filament is such good value here in Australia (especially if you're buying 10 rolls at a time). I basically use Elegoo and Esun for 99% of my prints. You do need to make changes between PLA and PETG but Elegoo's filament seems quite good. Cheers!
VEHO-600 BY TRONXY
3:40 it's "hygroscopic", not "hydroscopic". or maybe i heard it wrong. my ears are not great :)
@@kevinl.9657 I probably did say hydro 🤣 good catch.
i like, more please. illustrator to fusion to slicer
I totally switched to Elegoo Rapid PETG, use the Bambu HF settings, just increase the temp to 255°
As a fellow "gun guy" I haven't used my keurig in a while as I mostly just make full pots of coffee to keep up - but I LOVE the picatinny rail k-cup holders. Now as a fellow 3d printer, I probably won't make a commercial sale out of this but I applaud the effort that went into this design. Colt and S&W FTW all day...
My PETG prints are sometimes a little reliant on measurements being about right, so I really notice the shrinkage. The material I'm using at the moment shrinks to something like 98.3% of the desired size in the XY dimensions, so it can be tricky. If you can get consistent shrinkage, it shouldn't be a problem, but a little manual calibration does the trick. I typically print a small cube and/or a cylinder and quickly measure how much they deviate from my desired sizes, and calculate from there. Worked well enough so far, and doesn't take very long. Also saves on materials. I've seen calibration tests eat 150g or more for something that shouldn't be rocket surgery.
I was honestly surprised that it fit loose and I fully expected it to be tighter. Even made me question if I use the wrong model because I had adjusted it one time for the current material. It turns out no. Maybe it can be concluded that it doesn't shrink as much as other materials I've used, but I would have to test it more to come to that conclusion fully.
@@tenmilecreations Good luck with the testing - hope you have better luck than me, as my PETG started printing fuzzy today :)
in orca slicer you can put that shrinkage calibration in the filament profile.
I appreciate these ramble videos! As a fellow small biz owner, hearing your thoughts and ideas is refreshing. The world's full of drama. Let's do the fun biz stuff. I also caught your PETG video today and that was great. I think a filament dryer is in my future for sure.
I just ordered some elegoo pla for my Bambu A1 printer I'm new to printing. Do I need to print an adapter for the spools to fit on my ams lite? Love the channel I learn a bit a time thanks for what ya do. If need an adapter could you recommend one on bambu handy app ?
The AMS light generally handles many types of spools with no problem. I don't anticipate you having an issue..
I got Elegoo Rapid PLA+ and it fits the AMS lite. Hopefully it's the same dimensions.
Those bambu printers and the prusa's you mentioned are all consumer grade printers if you want a Commercial grade its going to be alot more then $1200. May your printing journey be successful.
Agree with you. You can do more with a P1S Combo than a single material CORE one and for a better price
0:54 what about printing your own camera head mount ? or it's too bulky?
Hey there! I've had a Prusa Mini since release. At the beginning the Mini did require quite a lot of hand holding. However, my Mini in its enclosure has been an absolute workhorse that I don't have to tinker with ever. That being said I wouldn't buy one new now 😂 I also have an A1 combo. The Core One looks nice, but I don't think is worth the money. I think it's fun to look at new shiny things and WANT them, but reality is different. For me personally I think Flashforge or Qidi are interesting brands to watch for commercial use. They might not be doing anything revolutionary, but that's okay. They seem to be loved and reliable, and they're CHEAP for what you get. The "ecosystem" with Prusa is really interesting cause there's no lock in. So to me, the thing in their ecosystem that I LOVE and I don't think gets talked about enough is Prusa Connect. And I don't just mean monitoring remotely. Being able to queue up print jobs while the printer is running is awesome and I hate not being able to do that with the A1. I want a queue of print jobs so that when I take a part of the plate, I hit a button, and the printer moves on to the next thing. I don't have to scroll through files on an sd card or whatever. I understand the frustration of seeing the fear mongering around Bambu, but if you'll allow me a minute... I'm not suggesting cancelling Bambu, getting rid of your Bambu printers, or even not buying Bambu. Having said that I feel it's important to call out BS when we see it, especially when companies change the terms of the sale after the fact. Bambu doesn't NEED to do what they're doing otherwise all that would have been in place day 1. Just some food for thought.
For me, the Prusa Core One is too little, too late, too expensive. The panels are polycarbonate and not cheap acrylic btw. I'm sure the build quality is good and they'll be reliable and long-lasting, but not on my purchase radar. The Prusa ecosystem is excellent by all accounts though.
Making the most of that Suno! I’m with it!
I'm with you on the wanting to be a part of the Prusa fanboys but I just can't justify the money. I have a P1S and an A1, also had an A1 mini for a bit and they're fast, reliable, easy to work with and on when necessary and didn't break the bank. $1200 doesn't even get you into the multi-color game with Prusa, unless I'm missing something I just don't get it.
There's no one size fits all when it comes to 3D printers. On paper, my X1C outscores my Voron by a huge margin, but I much prefer the Voron. There's an non tangible quality about it being open source and I can print my own parts or mods for it. My Voron isn't a hobby in of itself. It's a workhorse that prints parts for my business day and night. My wife on the other hand much prefers the Bambu. We all like what we like even if it seems irrational to other people.
@@scaledoctors I feel like eventually the curiosity is going to get the best of me. I’m going to have to order one, even if I just turn around and sell it. Believe me when I say, I understand we all have bias, I can fully understand when you put blood sweat and tears into building something that it creates a connection between you and that thing or the community connected to it.
@@tenmilecreations The more I think about it, I don't think you'll be happy with a Voron. When I bought mine, things were very different. It was a little after all the pandemic craziness. The X1C was still a kickstarter. I was coming from an Ender 5 Plus that I modified with Klipper. The philosophy behind Voron Design is to make a very good 3D printer with off the shelf parts using garden tools. The Voron team stopped with the creation of a functional 3D printer. They don't include quality of life features. Things like a camera or filament sensorr or nozzle wiper aren't part of the design. You'll need to look through countless mods to add these features if that's something you want. Something I hadn't considered was that there isn't "A Voron Trident" like there is an X1C. Trying to debug your Trident, that's probably different from the people that are trying to help you takes some interpretation. You're using a CW2 extruder and the person helping you has an Orbiter 2 or a mini sherpa. There isn't 1 source like with an X1C or A1. No one is using the same fans, controller, Rpi, thermistors hot ends or bed probes. The Voron community is one of the most knowledgeable collection of people when it comes to 3D printing. People that have built and designed many printers and mods are part of it. My knowledge of 3D printing grew tremendously being part of it. I haven't felt that way with the Bambu community. But, in all fairness, I haven't needed to with my Bambu. I had that same experience with video editing. I started out using iMovie that came with my Mac. There's a million educational videos on how to use iMovie. Eventually I switched to using Final Cut Pro. There's a million educational videos on FCP too, but many of these channels are from people that make videos for a living. It's a very different experience learning from professional movie producers compared to people that bought a Mac. This has been my experience with Vorons too. One of those non tangibles.
@ I tend to approach 3D printing from both a hobby and business perspective, but I can easily separate the two. If I were to buy something like a Voron, I wouldn’t expect to use it in a production setting. For the foreseeable future, my business will likely continue using Bambu printers due to their simplicity. It’s interesting that both beginners and commercial users share the same core expectation from a 3D printer-they just want it to work. However, the tinkerer in me enjoys building and experimenting. Lately, I haven’t had much time for that, but if I were to explore another 3D printer, it would likely start as a hobby project at home. If it proved to be reliable, I might consider transitioning it into my shop.
@@tenmilecreations I loved my X1C when I got it two years ago - and then I too was curious and I picked up a mk4 off of craigslist for a pretty good deal, and it was only a few blocks from where I live. I like it, but it was a bit slow, then I did the upgrade to the Mk4s and I switched from my X1C to the Mk4s for all PLA and PETG single color prints, I found the quality a bit better. Not to say the XIC is not also great, and I still use the heck out of my X1C, I'm cranking away on some ASA plates right now for my Voron v0.2 build (my first foray into the world of Voron, and I wanted a small fast purpose build printer.) Look the truth of it is, Prusa and Bambu are the two most successful consumer grade companies (creality a close 3rd) for a reason - they both make great printers in the end.
Love the song in the beginning lol, wich song is it?
@@colinvanrooijen1 can’t take the credit for that one @theroguelayer 😉

Been looking to add stickers to my packages so this is convenient...Nice video!!
So, it just works with the bambu slicer? I ordered some and just wanted to make sure
Yes I didn't have to change any of the setting from the generic PLA setting.
@@tenmilecreations in BambuSlicer there is a preset for Polymaker filaments so there is no need to use generic PLA one.
@@Kinkis95 yes there is, for the purpose of this series of videos I wanted to be consistent by using the generic setting. This is just for people that want to put it in and print.
Thanks bud...very interesting that you had warping on one corner. I had the same issue on my first print. I just used glue afterwards
I was really hoping to see someone actually put it together to show vs just talking about it. Will keep looking, maybe come back once I understand.
if you have any older 3d printer, you could Klipperize it. Or maybe a file/print share. keep up the good content!!
I recently made a case for my pi 5 and compared to yours, I'm a novice. What I'm doing with mine is security cameras. I have a a motion detector program that triggers video saving. I'm not sure if the pi zero has the camera option but it's something I've wondered about as I think they're cheaper.
Nice, that's a cool project. It's nice when you can develop a product and not have to go out and buy it. Ultimately, you have control of how it works, or sometimes doesn't work 🤣
DUDE!!! Here I am rocking out in the shop with the 3d print song! That's so cool, but what's the name and when is the tour? :D I also dig the mood lights! It adds a level of visual interest to your background and helps your video. :)
I want to paint that back wall, Im not feeling that green. 🤣 Maybe something more neutral like gray.
My traffic to my Etsy shop has gone down drastically in the past 2 weeks. Also happened when I stopped doing ads completely. The ROI is horrendous on their ads.
Maybe I missed it but what did you end up doing with the very narrow handmade categories? My products don't really match any of the categories either so was curious how you listed the ones that didn't line up exactly. I'm planning on setting up my amazon seller account this weekend.
So the items that I can't find the category for I end up just listing on Amazon outside of the handmade. at the top you'll see in the handmaid section. There's a link at the top. You can click that will give you access to all of the categories on Amazon.
I love your talk with Etsy lol i would love to have a talk with Etsy and say get rid of the china drop shipping and stop taking such a big chunk of the money the actural makers are bringing in.
With me being fairly new to the platform, I wasn't actually aware of all of that until recently. I was watching some videos from some other TH-camrs that were talking about that exact subject. It's a shame you can tell people where very invested in the platform at one time
@@tenmilecreations Yes years ago it was truly handmade. Now they fuge the lines with " handmade" Lots of people do print on demand and ai so they are not making the item and not creating the artwork either. But thats not nearly as bad as the things coming straight from a factory in China. They get much cheaper shipping and the items are much less expensive.
The 0.4 nozzle model has 289g of material and the 0.6 nozzle model has 340g of material. You have to compensate for that by changing amount of walls
I feel you on Etsy... despite continued marketing, paying ads, and doing all the right things. My shop traffic has lowered year over year on Etsy while it has grown on every other platform. Being where your customers are is the number one goal for sure! I'm planning to check out this big ole butt on amazon this year. :D
Once you get over the hump of setting it up it's not that bad. FBA is my next step in that process.
I just subscribed, I have a quick question. What do I need to do technically to be like a small private vendor for two locally owned stores here in town? Do i need an LLC or anything? Ill just be selling small stuff to a local trooical fish store and a privately owned gas station. Maybe a business acct with a bank?
You don’t need an LLC or any formal business entity to sell to local stores-you can operate as a sole proprietor under your Social Security Number and simply report your income on your personal tax return. However, if you want to deduct business expenses (like materials, travel, or other costs), most states require you to have a business license. A business bank account isn’t required but can help keep your finances organized. You might also want to check with your local/state tax office to see if you need a sales tax permit or other licenses depending on what you’re selling. Disclaimer: I am not a tax professional, so you may want to confirm this information with an accountant or your local tax office to ensure you’re meeting all requirements. Let me know if you need anything else!
Im kicking the idea around of starting a small side business selling small stuff at a locally owned gas station and a local aquatic store. Great video, thanks for the info.
Keep the rubber boot, if you have a print failure and melted filament gathers on the nozzle is much easier to get off and clean it all up with the boot offering some protection to the nozzle. (I might be speaking from experience on this one)
Nice music. Ai tap
Thanks! Suno always delivers.
I don't know what you're talking about with PlayStation I still got my GameShark on mine, ain't nothing closed system about it LMFAO
This exact same thing happened to DJI. They decided to side with their chinese communist rulers and lock down every drone they sold. I don't know about you but I lost all interest at that point. This is the problem with chinese communist lunatics, they think power and control are their right. Bambu Labs needs a class action lawsuit and to be boycotted. They already tried to burn down everybody's house now they have decided that they should be allowed to treat you like one of their billions of hostages in China.
The boot is not for looks it is for thermal control. our printer will not print correctly with out it
Appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Thinking I want to do some printing and sort of looking at the A1 -- lot to sort out :) Like that shelve unit.
My first bambu printer was an A1 mini too, and it's still my favorite bambu printer. For my micro print farm I went with three full size A1s. I only print with PLA, PETG and TPU, so no need for the P series for me. They've been rock solid performers.
The silicone sock is actually to help with several things, but the thing that's the most day-to-day helpful is it keeps stray plastic from melting to your hot-end. It actually keeps things way cleaner. It also helps contain some of the head of the hot-end too.
First, where did you find that song? AI and Shazam can't seem to find it. Second, the sock is supposed to help keep heat where it is supposed to be, at the nozzle. Not radiating down to the print. Also some added protection should the print spaghetti or blob of doom. But this is only what the interwebs say.
I made the song with Suno 😉
You should release the song
