Shreddies Spikey Sticker & Nature Competition (1976)
Given away with Nestle Golden Nuggets, Shreddies & Nesquik for a set of 20 different cards of real Space Meteorites. This was probably promoted during Childrens TV Adverts in the Ad breaks as well as kids comics ads

These What's In The Box films are aimed at a type of retrospective unpacking, opening and revealing of the surprise contents of the pack, plastic toys, cards, stickers, with details of send away offers or packet/panel cut outs and features, including food recipes using cereals and healthy options, offering a nostalgic look at what the offers have been over the years here in the UK and relive your youth
The focus is mainly on the main Breakfast Cereal brands including Weetabix, Kellogg’s, Quaker, Nabisco & Nestle. Its a chance to see what they were like when opened, testing them out and also act as a future archive/history for anyone who wants to relive the magic of youth when you used to rush down to breakfast, open the new packet and hope the gift was one you wanted
I have also started to review new cereals doing taste tests, as they are released and you will find these across a number of the main brands or the playlist
So for those of you who look back in the past with fond memories of Yesteryear and recall mascots such as Kellogg's Coco Monkey, Tony Tiger, Snap Crackle & Pop, Cornelius Cockerel, Captain Rick, Loopy, Honey Monster, Weetgang, Hunger, Quicky Bunny, Chip Wolf, Hunger, Klondike Pete & Pardner then this is for you.
Where ads and commercials are included, these were all shown on usual ITV channels, including CITV, GMTV, POP, Disney, Nick Jr, Boomerang, Nickleodeon, Sky Kids ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Carlton, Cartoon Network, Anglia, LWT, Pop Milkshake, SMTV, Boomerang and more

At long last you've uploaded what I had been waiting for when I subscribed to you so long ago. Any palaeomedia aka in context, things involving Dinosaurs, with the cereal boxes was also appreciated, though I was hoping for this one. I am a forever fan of Walking With Dinosaurs and keenly remember back in 1999, all manner of things related to the series in the build up to the release. I have memories of being with my mother in the supermarket and being fixated on the colourful still images of the series, on the back of the boxes. I have all sorts of Walking With Dinosaurs memorabilia, tie-in products and so on. That varies from the entire model set sold in places like Toymaster, to playing cards with questions on one side and the stills of the series on the other. Practically every tie-in book I could get my hands on (a lot of which, I have been finding over the years since long after the original release) Obviously, as a small boy when the series came out, I like many others that age wouldn't have necessarily had the wherewithal or intrigue for the preservation of every last aspect of a show I love in every way (it inspired me to become a palaeontologist, studying it at university), to obscurely turn around to my parents and ask for every single cereal box with these promotions on them to be kept. I suppose it was just not the done thing at least in my family. That sort of thing would soon have me told off for collecting rubbish in the house and the odds of it being in pristine condition for the intervening decades until 2024, would have been even more unlikely. I'd sporadically looked for them in searches online, if there were stills and high resolution images of the text on the back of the boxes. I did the same when looking for the original model boxes and series specific magazines related to Walking With Dinosaurs. I've found all kinds of rare things over the years, and am trying to compile them for posterity. Somethings were simply out of my reach (e.g. when I was at university, the prop of the head of the Koolasuchus - aka the giant amphibian in Spirits Of The Ice Forest, something known as a Temnospondyl Labyrinthodont - was casually just laying around in the department labs and in pretty poor condition after over a decade and a half, at that time, rotting away. It was essentially just the framework beneath what would have been a more polished up and substantial prop, with the out layers of rubber and the other materials long since rotting back; long story short, the department wanted rid of it and as it happened there was a brief bidding war for it and I just couldn't afford it on my student wages with 90 percent of my money going on rent; I may have eaten Kelloggs cereal but I wasn't born with a silver spoon! A couple in my class got it, and took it home in a taxi, which I did witness; apparently they'd grievously upset a PhD student who wanted it instead, though I was the one wishing it could have been in my collection; lad has to eat) Had it been a better month, a better time, I'd have bought it myself. Suffice it to say, I'm very much all about recovering every last piece of this franchise I can, for the sake of my own interest and the preservation of it, as palaeomedia which directly changed my life. I doubt anyone loves that show, more than me. It resonated with me on many levels. Millions do love it. I'd loved Dinosaur shows before and films like The Land Before Time and the Jurassic Park films up to that point, though Walking With Dinosaurs had a more scientific and distinctly English feel to it. Of course, it was, a classic, British and English production, with over 400 palaeontologists from all over the world advising it. Some of my own tutors worked on the thing. It means the world to me. A lot of the media and collectibles from it are hard to come by, lost or simply just too obscure (normally) to see. How exactly you got hold of reproductions of these boxes (or are they even 1999 originals?) I would sincerely like to know, in specific terms, for the sake of a) posterity and the history of the palaeomedia (this is genuinely important, however 'obscure' or 'trivial' the medium may seem, like cereal boxes - some very great world renowned palaeontologists, grew up eating cereal and collecting dinosaur toys from promotions in various countries, or stamps, or stickers etc that can sometimes make all the difference e.g. top level Canadian palaeontologist Phil Currie, found a Triceratops toy in a box of cereal in his youth, and became a palaeontologist because of that; these things do matter) and b) for my own interest. I don't make any qualms about saying that. I'm just focused on preserving and collecting as much of WWD media in any form that I can. Quite a lot of it has been lost to time it seems. I would sincerely appreciate any information you could provide, and I wish I could have copies of those boxes (I do not know where you found the source data, though in terms of your channel, I am quite sure you have experiential knowledge on this matter, and know what you're doing) I am not sure what your procedure is, whether you find templates, if they are publicly available or otherwise much harder to find with your own clearly well-versed understanding of cereal box production. I am a quiet yet regular viewer of your videos and do not normally comment, though for practically years at this point, had been holding out hope for the Walking With Dinosaurs boxes to show up eventually. I literally subscribed to you years back for this very moment in a sense, because I was impressed with your ability to demonstrate cereal boxes from various points in history, and to show the designs as they were intended to be seen. I vividly recall the cereal boxes in the aisles, with snippets of my then 7 year old mind also having recollections of Sunny D. It's random, obscure, but for some reason the image of Ornithocheirus (the one in the show is really Tropeognathus, as I'd later learn; the show is _riddled_ with errors but oh well, such is the nature of palaeomedia and science; it always marches on, waiting for nobody) and Iguanodon (the stripey one from North America in the show, now known to be Dakotadon, a relative of Iguanodon) The sheer nostalgia and feeling of love I have for Walking With Dinosaurs might seem overwrought to explain it, though you'd have to understand it from the perspective of a palaeontologist whom has been mad on Dinosaurs for his entire life. To me, the gamechanger was Walking With Dinosaurs. Sure, WWD itself was directly inspired by Spielberg's Jurassic Park from 1993, and there is an inextricable link between them; without Jurassic Park, Walking With Dinosaurs may well never have been made (and certainly not exactly how it was) By the same logic, had Tim Haines the Director, not been fond of the film Dances With Wolves, then the style of the title itself may have been slightly different. It's pure 1990's nostalgia. A frozen moment in time, which I was feeling nostalgic for even as a kid without even know well-enough why back then. I was a massive dinosaur nerd and proud of it but to be a palaeontologist you have to really knuckle down and learn the geology and biology to a great extent. Geochemistry and physics as well, to name a lot of other disciplines (in my first year at university, I had 14 exams) It is not necessarily the easiest path to living your dream, but you find your way forward. Walking With Dinosaurs was always inspirational to me on so many levels. I love it on levels a lot of passing observers, whom may fully appreciate that the show is fantastic, probably still don't see. [part 1 / 2 - please read both parts, I apologise, if you may, 'cerealmad'; part 2/2 in reply to myself below]

[Part 2/2 - and a Post-Scriptum regarding _Liopleurodon ferox_ and _Ophthalmosaurus icenicus_ for you] For instance, if you look at the series on a more granular level, taking it to task and analysing how it was made, what went into it's production and the challenges it faced, on the limited budget they had, then you can only respect it more when you find those things out (e.g. how the composer Benjamin Bartlett, had never even worked with an orchestra before working with the London Concert Orchestra, for a couple of days on their busy schedule, back in 1998, during the production process, and perhaps once or twice more for some additional work in Islington, in early 1999; you see, I truly do care about this whole thing a lot and want to write books on the matter and/or make project videos about it) He could have been ignored or overwhelmed, but he wasn't. He had some software and computers of his own, and once he had access to the sound archives that the BBC Natural History or Science and Nature department could afford him, then he really worked wonders. The entire process could have been a disaster but his music was sublime and is so perfect for the series. I love everything that this show was aiming to achieve, and regardless of it's flaws and scientific errors (which continue to become more obvious, because of course they do with the admixture of time; although _some_ errors were known even back then, but sort of fudged and winged for expediency and convenience) it is true, landmark television. 1,200 animation shots; live-backdrop filming locations in Tasmia, New Zealand, the Bahamas, New Caledonia, California, Chile and Australia, as well as on sound studios in England. It was done on a relative shoestring budget (although the BBC was always very keen on boasting of how much it had spent on it, the truth is, it was 'bargain basement' according to Tim Haines himself) About £10 million in today's money (about £6.2 million, back then) When he went to ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) in 1996, scouting for a quote for their animation services, in California, they got back to him with a figure roughly amounting to $10,000 dollars per _second_ of animation (completed and rendered) That was simply, unacceptable. Remember, they wanted a 6 episode series (typical of British series, in the 1990's as well as today; whereas American tv shows in the 1990's often had dozens of episodes, due to better funding, straightforwardly enough) The British silver-screen could not fork out for that, from taxpayers money. It would never have gotten off the ground. And right there and then, in 1996, it could have been Goodnight Vienna for Walking With Dinosaurs. However, a pilot was made for about £6,000 (in 1996 money) with Tim Haines essentially going to Eastern Cyprus for a while running around on the beach and having early models of creatures to be commissioned, with early animations of prehistoric animals, to illustrate the Late Jurassic; there are snippets of it on TH-cam these days; due to people trying to sleuth the thing back into the limelight; an example of the hunt for lost WWD media of any kind, still ongoing, amongst enthusiasts. The brief pilot was convincing enough for the BBC to greenlight the entire series, and the rest is history. At many stages, the Framestore CFC folks like Mike Milne could have stepped back, and he had considered turning Haines down. Thankfully, it all just clicked, and came to together just right. It was almost as though it was meant to be, the more you learn about the production process. It reflects the best of British in so many ways. Sincerely, it would be appreciated if you could enlighten me about how you found these, and if it is at all possible to discuss possibilities. Again, it may seem peculiar to be so desirest of a set of cereal boxes from a magical time in my life, though I would honestly appreciate whatever you can help me with or tell me about, because they matter to me. I appreciate the fact that you have stills and what seem like scans (and freeze-frames) throughout your video, as it helps to read the text on the back (which I am genuinely going to transcribe myself, box by box, based on your video) I do that with various palaeomedia to record it for posterity, regardless of if I can get a copy of them myself. Even (or perhaps ideally) 'flattened' cereal boxes I could keep in a glass covered picture frame, would be ideal (and yes I am serious) I want them for my collection. I'd appreciate your knowledge on this matter. Thank you. Sorry for the novella above, I just wanted to explain it properly. My eyes widened just before I was about to turn the television off and fall asleep, scrolling through TH-cam subscriptions, when I saw this video's thumbnail and title. I've been waiting for this for a long time. Please could you tell me about how you found them? (etc) and if they are available (and yes I'm willing to purchase) Thank you. As obscure as they may seem, I am sincerely very interested in them. Sincerely, ThePalaeontologist. P. S. - _Liopleurodon_ is pronounced, 'LYE/LEE-ou-PLOOR/PLERR-ou-DON' (meaning 'Smooth Sided-Tooth', in Ancient Greek ) with the specific name of 'ferox', simply meaning, 'ferocious', contextually (in Latin) _Ophthalmosaurus_ is pronounced, 'Opp-FAL-MO-sore-us' (meaning, 'Eye Lizard', in Ancient Greek) with the specific name of 'icenicus' (I _think_ at least) referring to the Iceni tribe, latinised (the Iceni being from what became Eastern England; though the Ichthyosaur in question is typically from the Mid-Late Jurassic Oxford Clay Formation, indeed, in Oxfordshire) That said, I am double-checking that part. Not sure if it is referring to the Iceni though it's my best guess (specific names/species names can be quite difficult to pinpoint at times; it seems like a Latinisation of the 'Celtic' word, 'Iceni', referring to that tribe if this is the case)

Hi - wow, that is certainly a lot of information you have gathered on this set....truly an expert and enthusiast 😊. I sold a set of these packets to one of the team involved in the production about 12 months ago as they wanted to give them as a present to someone else involved in producing them too. I think I may still have a few packets around if you want to drop me an email. My contact details are on my website www.cerealoffers.com Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for watching and also for all the information you have recorded, quite amazing

@@cerealmad Also, the thought occurred to me that with them being from multiple Kellogg's brands, maybe a box or two from different cereals e.g. Cornflakes and Coco Pops would be nice to demonstrate that fact.

Definitely remember both the drink and these ads from my childhood days, but what is really interesting, and what actually prompted me to look for this particular ad on TH-cam in the first place, is that um bongo is now back on the shelves, certainly at farm foods anyway. Managed to get some yesterday, and can’t wait to see if it is still as good as I remember it being back in the 80s.
