See a quick overview of Shapr3D’s new Parametric Update and the benefits that come with it. While rough drafting has slowed down a bit with added steps, you will win in the end with adjustable models if you set them up correctly. I typically design kitchens in 2020 Design Live, but I can take many of those ideas and put them into Shapr3D, for which later we can use the AR view to preview the en...

Long awaited update for an old video of mine. I made sure to record myself on a seperate camera as well so you don/t skip a beat. One issue did come up where I accidentally made revese threads, so make sure to follow along with the video prompts as they come up. Good luck and good learning 😁🤘 For regular threads. Just download a .step file from Mcmaster, but for CUSTOM 3D printable threads, you...

good video, but why did you make the square tower object that you later hid from view?
I created a plane to work on, otherwise I would be trying to sketch in the air 👌
It might work sometimes without it, but this way it’s guaranteed.
Very cool!
Thank you :)
my wont stop changing idk why
It’s in demo mode.
I fixed it im dumv it has the red dragon thing on the top left corner logo but it is a ibuypower i fixed it :v

You make this looks easy! Thanks for sharing your experience.
You’re very welcome :) it’s only easy because of all the hard lessons in the past 😂🤘
Thanks 🙏
The pen will go away soon ;) In about two months time i’ll have a youtube setup in my office where I can record myself working and all the videos after that will be full screen shapr and little me in the corner for those who missed a movement :)
THIS IS CRAZY OMG I THOUGHT MY KEYBOARD WAS BROKEN BRO UR GREAT IM SUBBING RIGHT NOW
Glad you got it figured out 😁👍
@JLake3D I also have another question there was a time where only the area of my wasd and around it was lit up and some like random keys like PgUp and space how did that happen?
You have to download their software and then you can make custom keys light up 👌
@@JLake3D oh ok thanks
More please! Thanks

I have that keyboard and it work!!!😊
than you so much u are the best
You’re very welcome ;)
@@JLake3D I have a problem I have all the colors except the red one, did I do something wrong?
and I also have the same model as you
Could be a defect, it’s supposed to have red since its “R”gb :) try reaching out for a replacement.
cool, story and great videos! I like your videos better than Shapr3D's tutorials. You should reach out to them to see if they will hire you.
I did apply a long time ago when I just started, unfortunately they wanted everyone to live close to their headquarters. In terms of video, they don’t sponsor my channel because my videos are not fancy enough to show since it’s just screen recordings 😂 that’s ok though I do this stuff for fun anyways. If ever make money doing it, it’ll be a double win 🤪✌️ I also recently ended up getting a job pretty close to my house as a kitchen designer. Learned an entirely new software in a week because of my experience with Shapr, so now I also know how to use 2020 Design Live software 🤘 it’s a pricey kitchen design software :)
Really helpful! Thanks!
You’re very welcome ;)
This is excellent. Super helpful. I was doing this via extrusion/shell/split body and then doing an offset of half the wall thickness then extrudung the base and lid separately.. For some reason it kept leaving an artifact face when I extruded the interior of the lid down. I am going to try what you just did amd see if it works better.
Let me know how it works out ✌️
@@JLake3D it worked fantastically well. I printed it without adding any tolerance and it was pretty snug so I went back and added some tolerance. But the main thing is that I never would have thought of extruding the bottom face as a new body and then subtracting. I'm new to this so that was a huge time saver! Thanks again!
I’m very happy to help! ;) I remember what it was like when I first started so I really enjoy helping people out with these videos :D
you really made it ! thanks a lot that's perfect!!!!!!!! i love it😍
Won’t say no to a fun project ;)
Thank you this tutorial helped me. Now I could make bead rings without inside band.
Glad I could help ;)
I like the idea of your future videos. Good stuff man! :)
Now to find the time 🤞
Good to see the progress! Congrats! :)
Thank you 🤘
Good to see you and another positive, helpful video! 👏👍 I’m getting back into Shapr after a break, but excited about the new features.
New features are great! I do wish we could have kept both ways of design but we can always find workarounds for everything ;) Welcome back ✌️
If i am clicking on revolve the sketch isnt visible anymore, so i can not proove if i revolve the correct Dimensions. In your video your sketch is still visible. Any advice?😊 Thanks!🎉
With the parametric update we’ve had some changes, so what I would do is make your original thread sketch, then copy it over and in the history settings remove the association. Then when you revolve, this sketch should stay there since it’s no longer a part of your process 👍
I’m working on a project that will incorporate a couple custom threads that will be done with the updated shapr, so keep an eye out for that on the horizon 👍
Exactly how in the hell is someone supposed to follow this?? I'm a beginner and learning specific things as I need them and I need threads. This looks like a great way to design them but I have no idea what most of what you're doing is. But hey, if ANYONE on this thread can lead me in a direction to make inside threads, that's what I'm trying to do and for the life of me, I can't figure it out. Thanks.
So making threads isn’t really a beginner tutorial, as it takes being familiar with the software to be able to work it out. However, I’m here to help. First of all, if you need spec threads, it’s simpler to go to mcmaster website and download the step file, but if you need custom threads this video is helpful for that. Did you have any specific questions I can help you with?
thanks for the tutorial ! btw how to make a pypurka vase in sharp 3d🥲
Make a cylinder, then pattern a sphere around the cylinder in a brick style. Then union and shell 👌 might make a video tomorrow since its quick 👍
Also it could be that I misunderstood, what did you mean by pypurka? I googled it and it was a vase made with spheres, or is it something else?
That's right, the vase surrounded by many semicircles. Thank you very much. Looking forward to your video!!!
Great, i’ll make it later today 👍

@@JLake3D Fantastic! Thank you!
@Uberdemon0666 you’re welcome ;)
Hey there! My guinea pig is recently paralyzed and a local neighbor printed out your wheelchair, sadly he is way too big to fit. She asked if I could reach out to you and ask if you could increase the width of the seat to 5-5.25 inch? 0:25
I believe you also reached out on printables? See if your neighbor can just scale it up in one direction to make it wider. If they have a hard time with it, comment back here and I will upload a larger version for you 👍
Yes I did reach out to you anyway I could find. She is worried about the wheel size changing and a waste of filament. I’m guessing she would like to have a bigger size scale to accommodate him and his girth.
Send me a private email (link on my page info) and I will forward you the modified file ✌️
Items like this where its transparent (Really Nice Design btw). My question is, am I supposed to remove the lid in order to print? If I were to print it with the lid on, would it print the lid to the bottom part of the box?
Yes it would melt together so for printing you would have to separate the pieces and orient them correctly or just use your slicer to do it. Most slicers these days have options to orient parts and lay them flat on the print bed. 👍
i have interesting shape for you to make it in shapr3d ;) how can I send it to you?
“Quick & dirty” 😂 perfect!
Thanks for that. Great workflow
You’re very welcome ;)
thank you for the video. Can you demonstrate how parametric modeling could be used in jewelry design on this app?
I’ll make it happen 👍
Im finding that everything slowed down with this update. Ipad app is unusable with a lot of crashing. Also sketches can’t be deleted without breaking your model of that sketch. Is there a workaround for this?
The update has definitely slowed down rough drafting in Shapr, but it works fine if you only need parametric designs. It’s just a different process and takes more steps to get everything set up. I’m gonna be making a tutorial soon that will show some of the ways its different, and Shapr has some tutorials on their youtube page as well.
🙏🏾
wow this is really helpful and detailed. i was able to replicate in onshape, the only tricky part over there was figuring out how to move only part of a face, but I figured that it worked with "draft" and 1deg
Awesome! I learned most of my skills with tutorials from other programs as well. The trick is to think in 3D and know your tool, then every tutorial becomes a tutorial for you 😂🤘
Fascinating. I need something similar but I need 1 in and 3 out with the 3 out being at 120 degrees at 45 degrees up. Just need to add one more output to yours and all 3 outputs at 120 degrees.
Yep its very easy if you use the correct process ;) glad to help 🤘
No need to be ugly on tutorials about modeling. I don’t even see how that’s possible
It wasn’t so much on my tutorials, but toward Istvan because of the complications with the update. While feedback is good, even negative feedback, theres absolutely no reason to be rude about it.
Looking forward to the future tutorials! Thank you!
Great format...yes would agree to turn the music off (but hey it's nice idea) one qq if I delete the circle around the center the body goes back to its origin position....no clue what to do, have you an idea what doing wrong?
New tutorials have no music :) With the new parametric update, many things have been interwoven and instead of deleting sketches you simply have to hide them by clicking the little eye in the item menu. Personally, I hope they make it optional and add an on/off button for the parametric history, but having history is in itself a very useful feature.
I have a 7 year old girl that has bad arthritis and has lost the ability to walk for any significant distance. I'm going to try out this tonight!
I’ve had a bunch of people reach out and say it really helped :) good luck 👍
Dice ALWAYS equal 7 on opposite sides
That they do 👍
See 2:26 where I mention that exact point :)
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I watched the thread video. That’s a good way. Your videos are really helpful. If you make a video with draft angles for tooling I think that would be really popular. Thanks.
None of my videos are too popular because this is a niche channel 😂 but I will add that to the list as I have some projects coming up that require draft angles anyways ✌️
@@JLake3DHahahah. As shapr gets more popular your views will go up. 👍
It’s all good either way, I enjoy making the videos even if it’s only for one person, because I used to be that one person 😄✌️
Very useful. Thanks. Do you have any similar videos that allow for tolerances and draft angles for mold tooling?
I have a video on how to make molds, but I did not include draft angles into it. For tolerances, if you watch my new threads video, I somewhat go into that a bit. For draft angles, a simple way to make them is when you extrude use the little arrow that pops up to set a specific angle. Or if you are doing it after the fact, you can use the sketch, sweep and subtract tools to get the job done. I might make a video on this topic in the future, but super busy atm.
U DONT KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN
This is a follow up video to the actual tutorial, so I get your criticism, but check out the actual tutorial first 😅

Thats cool mate. Id love to see how you did the bearing thingy on the bottom
I can make an updated one, but theres a super old video on how I made a 608 bearing in the same style if you want to know in a hurry :) it’s one of the first 10 videos on my channel I believe 🤔 Lucky for this one, i had enough room to make a slot so I could pack my bearings instead if having to print in place.

THANK YOU!!! I thought my lights were broken because they were off and I didn’t know how to turn them back on. It’s been like this for MONTHS. My redragon keyboard only has one colour pattern, so I clicked FN + PgUp, and the lights turned on. First time I’ve seen them in so long. Thanks again, liked and subscribed.
Glad to have helped ;)
I can not select the outer or inner circle. Nothing happens if I left mouse click on it.
You have to select shell for something to happen. Either go to tools>shell, or once you select it, click shell in the quick select menu.
Hello, since you are the only one who did a hollow video about Shaper3D, I wanna ask something. Is there like a way, u can make a tutorial for a hollow pyramid? I really need it for a school project which counts a lot to my final grade. I’m in 10th class and this is my last year in school. I would be really happy, if you would make a Tutorial:)
I have a couple videos that might help, try these and let me know :) th-cam.com/video/y6KZVZugfu4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=H3MKCQ8JJqQQYuWR th-cam.com/video/Zz1dkcCaqQQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7Mc1Xwn9xAKoLnRK
@@JLake3D i watched both of them, sadly both aren’t the thing I am looking for :(. I want to make a pyramid, but which is hollow in the inside and has a hole in the bottom. Basically just like 4 sides (triangles) creating a pyramid without a filling :)
Very easy, so go ahead and make your pyramid, double click it to select it all, and use the shell tool. Then simply sketch a circle on the bottom and extrude it through :)
@@JLake3D Yes, this is the part that I know, I’m using Shaper3D for a while now. But I want a Hole in the pyramid js like a pyramid you know? Like the bottom is a square and then the hole goes all the way up to and sharp end. Basically a pyramid hole in the pyramid:)
Even easier, after you draw your pyramid, click tools>shell and then select only the bottom face of the triangle. It should make a pyramid, with a pyramid hole in the bottom :)
thank you. like the video
Thanks :)
