Rather than having a valve to block the airflow from the compressor and into the tank, have a valve that simply allows you to bleed compressor air to atmosphere. In other words control the airflow by bleeding air off. It will prevent compressor stall. Install a tee fitting in the pipe from the compressor to the Combustion chamber and put the ball valve in the tee going straight to atmosphere. Open it on startup, gradually close it to throttle up, then adjust it to obtain a steady running state. Use 3/4 plate on that hatch and drill the holes don't oxy cut them.

Here's one way to improve it. Fill it then weld it shut properly. Get it lit with a propane torch. Make a contraption that can inject alternative fuel in the inlet after the compressor. Like diesel with a high pressure pump or liquid propane. Could use a high pressure washer for the diesel.

I've been thinking about making a turbo smoker. I want to turbo smoke my meats, I want to make it a two-stage unit, beginning stage with cold smoke second stage heats it up a bit, and of course to get the cold smoke you're not to use a little bit of intercooling. I'm working on it I got a plan for a proto type. I don't want my cold smoked meats to be overheated so temperature control will be the number one priority with it. I want to be able to go from 400° 450° do ambient temp, slightly above

Forget using wood, jump straight into using sump oil, you can either gravity feed it into the turbo inlet to atomize it or pump it into the tank under a light pressure, either way its fuel on demand, less fuel less sketchy, more fuel oh fuck run! 🎉 😮 😅 😊
