Well, the good news is that toys r us is reopened. Only it's not a stand-alone store anymore. It's in Macy's.

I'm in the south San Francisco bay area. Here property is so expensive now that we don't get abandoned malls. Instead they get sold, torn down and replaced with high density housing or office buildings. BTW I'm just 2 miles from Google's headquarters. We once had 3 malls in town, 2 of them indoor. All gone now One is housing and the other became Google's self driving car division.
