That's all fun and games until you get pooped on.
The funny thing is that 20 minutes after the rain stops the streets are dry.
I live in Merida. Nice to meet you. Excellent video.
I noticed you are paying with coins. Where did you exchange your money and do a lot of places take credit cards?
nice, they all got canopies for shade
I liked your opinion because it is so true those differents. In the USA they bother you every momentt, where so ever with their political opinions and in a terrific fanatic way. For me it´s an ugly country, specially the white population. Amen
Great and informative video, were there locals trying to sell weed etc..? I know in Cozumel its kinda annoying with so many locals trying to sell "party favors" Such a beautiful port!!
I hear you can get inexpensive massages on the beach. $30 or so? Did you see anything like that happening?
What’s with the stray dogs?
The beach clubs have some of the best food I have ate in a long time and the prices are very inexpensive
Great job on your video of Progresso, really helped me plan on what to visit the day of my cruise there with family thank you
Very interesting look into a part of Merida’s history . Thanks
Nice to see different parts of Merida
Good video. Tanks
Lots of good info. Thanks.
Es ilegal ondear una bandera extranjera en tierra mexicana (7:14).
People smile and nod hi to me here in the US. Of course many do not say hi, but I would say it is about 50/50. It also seems that if you smile and say hi you are more likely to have people reciprocate. Maybe it is you that isn't happy in the US?
@@bobsacamano7653 I smile and nod at folks in the US, and frankly it's such a very deeply ingrained habit, I can't seem to get myself to stop when I am in other countries, either 😅 I'm sure sometimes I throw other non-americans off ("why's the guy smiling at me, do I know him?"). What can I say, you can take a guy out of the midwest but you can't take the midwest out of the guy! Thanks for supporting the channel 😃
I prefer the cold
@@bobsacamano7653 sounds great, hope you're living somewhere nice and chilly that suits you too 🙂
I'm from Chicago as well, and I just returned from Oaxaca and noticed all that you've said. It's been a struggle. From the chemicals in the water and food, politics, etc. We got it backwards
@@jwattz3628 I hear you amigo/a, hope you can get back to Oaxaca soon. I haven't been there yet but I hear incredible things. Viva México 🇲🇽 ✌️

I had the weirdest experience moving from Minnesota back to Maryland. Now I should have been freezing in Minnesota and trust me I did ,get back to Maryland and 35 degrees felt like 0 degrees 😆🤣🤣🤣I shook a lot this is something never happened before. Maryland is coastal so you get the humidity and dampness where as Minnesota is a dry cold . I know you are talking about Mexico and going somewhere else after that but even state to state can most certainly differ in weather and so much more.
Fantastic video! Thank you so much!
@@antoniodiminno7868 thanks for watching!
Would love to check the cemetery, if not for the spooky factor, but for the stories and history surrounding it and the area.
Yeah it was surprisingly a good place to learn about the history of the area. Thanks for watching!
You really bring us the most interesting yet down to earth content. This was such a cool video, keep em coming!
I appreciate it vivaflork! Thanks for bringing down to earth comments and support.
Just found your channel. I really enjoyed this cycling tour.
@@amydecker6207 thank you! I have a few more videos in the works and will be adding some more biking tours to the mix soon. Appreciate your support 🇲🇽✌️
Do you know the name of the trees they were calling enchanted?
It's a Ceiba tree. 🌳 or ya'axché in Mayan.
I moved from Mexico City to New York and I miss Mexico
The Cake House was built by Pedro infante. Basically the Elvis of Mexico, killed in Merida in a plane crash with his girlfriend presumably.
The food in Mérida is trash
@@bamkobe1 I was raised somewhere that "cooks" almost exclusively with highly processed low budget packaged foods so I'm sure I'm easy to impress 😆

Good to see so many American migrants speaking about their good experiences in Mexico. Cheers!
@@mjlpbn glad you enjoyed the video, take care! 🇲🇽✌️
I also fired America and moved to the Yucatan. Love Merida for its restaurants and culture, not to mention the guyabreras. Yes, it's hot and sometimes wet, but as long as the electricity is on and beer is cold a couple outages a month are a small price to pay for the laid back lifestyle, the simple pleasures of good, cheap food, beautiful beaches, relaxed tranquil settings and relative ZERO crime, not to mention ridiculously cheap transportation, medicine and medical services. Living better and healthier for less in Mexico is the reality, not the exception
@@NunyaBizness-z8f couldn't agree anymore amigo/a, it really makes you want to cherish and take care of this very special corner of the universe. I'm so glad the Yucatán is treating you so well too 😌
I feel that when Americans go to certain countries. they want to get away from blacks. Even black Americans want to get away from their people. Of course, no one is going to admit that. If only the mexicans would work hard to make their country better. Instead of running illegally to the USA. Smh
No has it gotten expensive now in Mexico. And the new government is very scary now be careful things are changing in Mexico
@@RexPonder-y6b no doubt that inflation has touched just about every corner of the world post pandemic. I still remain very grateful to be here. Cheers!
The meat and chicken are so fresh in MEXİCO IF YOU BUY from markets and small chicken or meat shops and veggies are so cheap ay markets .I don't know why someone would buy anything from supermarkets in Mexico but ı see foreigners do that a lot even though everything is much much better at markets..
@@Catsandnature-1234 access to fresh food is such a great advantage of being here! As for shopping at supermarkets, some might prefer that for familiarity or convenience. Either way, happy snacking to all ✌️🇲🇽
Found it to expensive. And the new government is very scary.
@@RexPonder-y6b for sure Mérida isn't the least expensive place in México. Hope you find the spot that feels like home to you.
Really nice do the whole route that would be awesome 👌
@@reyosuna7026 thanks for the feedback!! I'm working on a few new videos now, once those are done I will get back to bike route 😃
Very enjoyable video to watch with great sightseeing and not overwhelmed with too much info. Thanks, look forward to more!
@@gilbertedgett194 thanks for joining along the adventure, and for the kind feedback! I appreciate the support 🇲🇽✌️
It looks very quiet there. No one on the streets. Is this normal?
@@maclawa in the middle of the day, it's quiet if you're not in centro ("downtown"). Folks are at work or school, and outside of rush hour, people stay inside until it's cooled down in the evenings. The parks come alive around 8pm, and it's not uncommon to see kids playing soccer at 11pm. In other words, I'm the only one crazy enough to be out on asphalt in the midday sun 😆
I lived there for a year in 1992, I wish i could figure out a way to move back permanently, not sure how to make a living
im a yucateco, and I really liked your review of my state and city, congrats. come back soon
@@beto86 thank you so much for the kind words, it means a lot 🇲🇽✌️ The Yucatan is such an incredible place and I'm very grateful to be here 🙂
I've been living in Mexico for close to 5 years and only returned once to Canada. I couldn't wait to get back to my new home, México Lindo❤ I immersed into the culture and the local communities. Although it took time to adjust, I do not miss anything in Canada. Soy Mexicana ahora😊
@@MadeinCanada1970 thanks for sharing your experience! So glad your "new" home is treating you well, too :)
I mean I don't think Mexico is much less violent from the experience of my friends and family, but I think I know what you mean. My grandma once said the same thing about Americans, that they seem to just hate each other. I think it is the excessive individualistic culture they have which they take to an extreme. That is why I prefer neighboorhoods with hispanic people overall. When it comes to work, Americans tend to be friendly coworkers, but not as strangers or even as students so much. I do have to say that I had some pretty good street tacos in Ensenada. They were much better than anything I have ever had even in nice Mexican restaurants in the U.S.
Great content - planning on a “cost of living” post? Appreciate
@@William_B_TV thank you sir! I am working on a few new videos now and will add your cost of living video to my to-do list. I appreciate the support!
... por qué no te quedas ... ??? ... claro ... you know better ... !!! ... tú ya sabes lo que es bueno ... !!!
All of the advantages including the healthy relationship with nature are part of the culture. If you visit the place, take care of it.
The only time when a waiter will politely ask you to leave is if you stay there until the restaurant is about to close. Otherwise, they'll likely never even think of rushing you
Fabulous video! Very enjoyable! I felt like I was right there, which I hope to be soon. Thank you so much!
