Great video. I did the same to my compact. Yours looks great. I kept the stock liners and scales on mine.
@@sleepinglysithia thank you very much! 😁
Hey can i get one please i cannot order it from India please help me i have seen all your videos the are so good and relaxing and also i get motivated when i see you struggling so hard it makes you my inspiration please message me back 😊
@@varunshah4678 helloooo! Tnx for your comment! How can I help you exactly?
@Dadoimp i want one I am genuinely fond of swiss army multitool knife a lot but there's no victorinox store in India can you help me with it? Like I want it

You can also restore scratched up scales on Vic's with Car Headlight restorer kit, and 3000 grit paper, I literally can make them look like brand new, you should try it, that way you can keep them original 🇺🇲😎💪
@@bigGeo5460 i do do them with 3000 grit. And then i go to 5000, and then to 7000 haha
Welp me being a SAKAHOLIC in all your channel is pretty much exactly what I need, I can finally stop the shakes now thanks for all the beautiful SAK's your showing, I feel better now 😂😂
@@bigGeo5460 ohhh man! This comment made my day! 😃 I have a good one upahead! Just waiting for some parts to arrive and to have some free time haha
@@Dadoimp I just found out about your channel I absolutely love Vic's I have a fair amount of them, and still growing, and I'm pretty sure I won't stop thanks for the response brother can always use another SAK channel
@@bigGeo5460 tnx for your support! This is what motivates me to keep making new videos and inspires me to have new ideas!
@@bigGeo5460 ohhh do you like longer style videos or shorter (like this black sportsman)?
@@Dadoimp Long or short really does not matter anything to do with SAK's I'm in on it, I have a lot of other knives but I gravitate towards the SAK, I luv everything about them, there very reliable and always have good snap, you can change their look there just an awesome platform for a knife, I'm also collecting Wenger knives too, I like the 85mm size a lot but to be honest my heart is in the SAK's I also make my own fixed blade knives too Bowie's and Tanto's and small EDC's, but once again I always have a SAK on my person, thanks for letting me take sum of your time brother, really appreciate it 😁
Looks great. I’ve been thinking of trying to replace the corkscrew on one of these with a Phillips. Do you know if this is possible?
@@thomast6823 with a regular philipsm like on an Explorer? It is not possible without heavy heavy modding because the bottle opener and the philips are not the sam thickness. All tools in the same layer have to be the same thickness
@@Dadoimp while I’d love the inline driver, I actually meant the Phillips on the back to go instead of a corkscrew. I was thinking of trying to do it to a waiter so I could have a very small tool with all the functionality I need. I don’t have an 84mm with one of these backsided philllips so would have to harvest from a 91mm
@@thomast6823 yeah! That is a no problem mod for me! Fun fact: there was a model called the Apprentice. It was just what you wanted: waiter with a philips. All you need is a waiter and a tinker.
@@Dadoimp oh really, that is cool, I haven’t seen that one before! I’m going to have a go at doing this. I’ll let you know how I get on. Thanks for your help!
@@thomast6823 np! 😃
Nice mod. Did you think about removing the "hook" left behind by the can opener?
@@raphaelvilamiu i would like to remove it but i am afraid that that is not possible... Here is why: that "hook" that is left behind is what hits the backspring when you close the tool and rests on it. If you remove it and close the tool, the tool will fall so deep inside that you would not be able to reach the nailnick ever again.
Love the colors!!
@@salvadorbarron6906 tnx!
Odlicna kombinacija boja 👍
@@ivansanto8525 hvala!
Victorinox themselves do not recommend usong wd40 because it generally congeals and thickens with dirt and grime that may end up defeating the purpose But thats for regular maintenance. For restorative purposes, Maybe. My first victorinox has a rounded dull blade. Just an fyi
Great album. Awesome build!

is it possible to put an awl? on the back spring of the magnifying glass and philips? thanks.
@@arghiesambrano no. But you could put an awl insted of the hook, behind the scissors. But it needs some modifications because they need to be the same thickness
Appreciate the reply, thanks. im thinking I could use the back spring of the awl of the explorer to replace the back spring use in the magnifying glass and philips. I assumed wrong. Thanks a lot.
Great video very informative. 👍
@@dornierdo2172 tnx buddy 😁
Loved your video! I would love to be able to do that!
I like your modifications.... great ideas.... I might use plus scales in white.... would give you a pen to take notes too. You can prevent most of the chipping on the micro screwdriver if after you paint it... you find some clear epoxy to coat it. Nice job!!
@@rcsteele coat itttt! Ofccccc! I will do that 🙂 tnxxx
Good job. Next time will be even better. The main thing is not to stop and do what brings you pleasure from the process and the final result. Special thanks for being interested in news from Ukraine and for supporting the Ukrainian people in this difficult struggle. If I understand correctly, you are from Croatia? That's a great set of tools!! One of my dream saks! another one could be the same with pliers instead of the scissors!!! Great video!
Great job, friend!! I really enjoy the video and learn some new stuff
@@salvadorbarron6906 you are sooo very welcome 😁
You did a rather good job. Practice makes perfect as you said, you learned a lot. You put 3 knifes into this? Wouldn't it be better to just add a saw-layer to a Compact? Thus, you would have another "tool" with the nail file on the back of the parcelhook...
@@frederikbruck5210 putting a saw on a Compact would have much more sense but i had these knifes around and i got them for very little money sooo i did it that way 🙂
Not much of a bump on my Climber, just visible, but no “bump” on my Alox Pioneer X….

great job with the SAK and very good video!
The slightly older main blades are a little thicker and don't require a washer. If that helps any.
@@travisyork3915 yes i know that but i dod not have and older style.. xD
Don't over peen the 2.2 pin with the grommet. If that helps. In some scale, replacements that are metal. They're just a floating pin. They're not peened. Keeping spring free.

That's really cool and it looks great! To make it more medically themed you could also put a serrated edge on the main blade to make it cut seatbelts easier and round off the scisors tips like you did with the main blade to make them safer to cut bandages with!
@@a70r that with scissors is a great idea! I did think about the serrated blade and i did try it behind the scenes but i dont have the skill to do it properly .. it would be s total fail lol
Oh my goodness. If this existed I would absolutely buy it. With a compact hook with the nailfile instead, that looks like a WONDERFUL edc tool.
Yeahhh. I dont use the nail file on my nails. But that is a good thing for someone who uses it. I personaly dont sooo i dont miss it...
Finally a very nice edc and well made, congratulations.
An excellent video showing your skill and the quality of the parts of the Swiss Army components, well done, #FlickrSpelio
Thank you for this video. The Yeoman w/ Plus scales, especially with this layer configuration, would be my perfect Victorinox EDC, and its perplexing that Victorinox discontinued it. The Compact (+ inline-Phillips/magnifier), or Scientist Plus (+ scissors), or Explorer Plus (+ combo tool/-can opener/-bottle opener) would be obsoleted for me. It's a pity, as if one wants the inline Phillips/magnifier layer, the only current productions options are the Explorer (4 layers) or frankly ridiculous Champ (8 layers), Champ XLT (11 layers, or Champ XAVT (15 layers). My aging eyes really like the idea of always having a magnifier in my pocket on shopping trips.
Ty for your comment. Victorinox can not make a perfect tool. That is not good business model. That is what i am here for... 😎🥲 Btw next video will be soon (i hope so) 😅
This one even in alox would be great
Yeah! But i do t know how that philips and lens would work in 93mm model... I may try one day! 😁
13:34 you’ll see a channel you can open up opposite end to the scale tools. Would give you another place for a tool. Also you could make a second pinhole for a sewing needle right next to the pin.
What a great tip 😁😁 tnxxx !
I want to mod a Compact to have a back Phillips. 1 day I might attempt it.
Super easy. No mods. Just take out the corckscrew and put the philips 😁 ill do it for you
