Don’t talk about politics or religion. This axiom, once light-hearted advice for attending dinner parties, has become a loaded gun. Research Enneagram. Its basis is witchcraft. A spiritual director needs to research the background on modalities. In my discernment I never felt good about Carl Jung. Carl Jung was into the dark arts and admitted to having 4 spirits visit him and give him the information he taught. I was at Tulane University in a graduate program for clinical social work (1988) and was investigating witchcraft. God led me to the basement floor of Tulane’s library. There the Lord led me to a book on the bottom shelf. I pulled and it opened to the page about Carl Jung.

I have learned so very much from Dallas Willard. Spiritual transformation is both easy and difficult at the same time. First and foremost is the discovery of how "other" Jesus was and is than we have always been and how He is so outside of what we see in churches today. As time passes I find that I do not fit in anywhere but able to fit in everywhere. ONLY Jesus Christ can accomplish such an incredible work within a person as to be Him. I realize now why it's the "narrow" path and why only a few find their way to saying, "it's no longer I that live, but Christ."

I do not see how a church encouraging a man's love for his sex doll is very spiritually affirming to anyone. The guy needs psychological help not affirmation of his sin. I do not believe it is formational for a shy person to fall in love with a sex doll which one of the presenters says in this video.

As someone who has suffered from Chronic Fatigue standing has been extremely hard. I simply chose when to stand and when not to. I chose not to worry about what others thought. I have been asked why I didn’t stand so I just explained. I didn’t feel left out when everyone else was standing. However I did find it frustrating when I struggle to see the words to the songs that were on the screen. - Just my story.

"As much fun as it is when a familiar formula is well-executed, this movie is also an altar to America's obsession with youthfulness, its exaltation of white super-men, its worship of heavy artillery ... and (sigh) its objectification of women as trophies." "As entertainment that rewards your senses without challenging us to consider anything of real substance, it’s great! Director Joseph Kosinski, who made an entertaining but unfulfilling sequel to Tron more than a decade ago, and whose 2013 sci-fi adventure Oblivion surprised me with its extravagant visuals and its playful genre references, is likely to have the biggest hit of his career with this film by delivering everything the studio could have hoped for, everything Tom Cruise could have hoped for, and everything they might have anticipated moviegoers could want." "But I’m not one of the moviegoers they were thinking about...." ~ Jeffrey Overstreet on "Top Gun" Maverick ~ The fact that you (and your like) Mr Overstreet....were NOT one of the type of moviegoers this movie's creative team were thinking about....IMHO....more than adequately explains why this movie has been so well received and so liked.... by "so many." There's nothing wrong with being a more or less lone-standing contrarian who senses distaste and folly where so many others sense fun and raw escapism. I myself have often looked down upon many a "blockbuster" with a kind of shrewd disdain, unique only to my own rationale. ET, Grease, Ghostbusters and ALL of the "Beverley Hills Cop" instalments being but a few of the movies I've taken great pride in realising....were obviously not made with "me" in mind. Top Gun Maverick however, serves its intended audience well. One might argue that it ought not to have done, and that it really ought to have used its anticipatory platform to try and "lecture" its audience about modern sensibilities.... simultaneously disavowing and critiquing it's own heritage with a kind of apologetic, embarrassed nod to the values portrayed within its original format. This is NOT however, what moviegoers want.....even if there is an ever-growing platform of people who believe that this "lecturing content" is what moviegoers ought to be given.....and ought to be paying for in order to have the privilege of receiving. Even if the "lecture" is sound and justified....if its obviated so much that moviegoers can actually SEE the writing room...and KNOW that they're predominantly being "messaged" rather than entertained, then they will not respond favourably to this....no matter what the "progressive" critics say.

This world is full of suffering and it is a mystery why God let bad things happen. Many would say God does not care. If Gods care means the removal of all suffering in this world, and to be just it had to be ALL, that would be an end to this world as we know it. Which he will do some time in the future. Create a new world and those who followed him will reign with him. His promise now is to go through sorrows together with us. The loss of your life was a terrible loss. Just tell him How hard this was for you. Everything. Just take half an hour every day and pour out your hearth. In Jesus name. The anger sorrow bitterness and grief. If that does not work we are ALL in trouble 😢❤.

This is a great discussion of numerous topics. What stood out for me are Gary's summaries first of salvation and second, not just Dallas' book "Renovation of the Heart" but also his overall work. At 48:00, "Salvation is the synergistic interplay of grace and effort in the journey towards union with God". Salvation is that journey where each aspect of the person moves towards union with God in surrender to His Love. From 1:05:23 to 1:07:15, Gary then summarises Dallas' "four critical concerns" that are each dealt with in one (or more) of his books: 1) "The Divine Conspiracy" - There is an invisible "real" that is all around us with which we can interact and from which we can draw knowledge 2) "The Spirit of the Disciplines" and "Hearing God" - We can interact with that reality 3) "Renovation of the Heart" - We are uniquely designed for this interaction and are dying as a result of not interacting with that reality 4) "Knowing Christ Today" - When we live in this interactive knowledge of God, there will be real and measurable change in our lives And these are just two of the great topics discussed...
