An amazing day in very Wintery challenging conditions up @ Drumochter Pass taking on Carn a' Caim & A' Bhuidheneach Beag with Tam @themunrobagger & Craig, we almost were'nt going to tackle them as it was blowin a hoolie while we were sitting in the car in the layby but it calmed down just enough to persuade us & im so glad we did go ahead....Fantastic, Re - edit from 720p to 4k original from 04...

A tough but amazing day on the Glenshiel Ridge with Tam aka @themunrobagger we did the route anti - clockwise, cycling down from the Cluanie Inn & locking the bikes up in the woods across from the starting point, a long day 9hrs 41mins, 25.73miles including the cycle & 6,768ft of ascent, so the wee dook in the falls & the beer at the end of the video were amazing, Re - edit from 720p to 4k, ori...

Brilliant again Brian at great walk up on the ridge and good looking scrambles aswell that wind that day was mental need to get myself up there to do the ridge sometime. Atb Ally 👌 👍
Aye it's a great wee ridge walk Ally, obviously with you being on Bynack More that day, you know how crazy the winds were 🤪 cheers bud atb Brian 👍
Brian, excellent video! That definitely looked like fun. My dog was in the same room as I watched. Whenever the team dogs howled, my dog heard and joined in... Call of the wild. Thanks!.. Chip
Cheers Chip, a fantastic experience with beautiful huskies, I'm glad you're dog 🐕 appreciated the video, does that count as 2 likes 🤣 cmon the dog's 🐶 atb Brian 👍
👍😀
Environmentally friendly to the butter end! Lol! Butt I'm sure there's a blur tool for faces and faeces LOL!
Where about are you Brian? Is it Finland?
This was Swedish Lapland Angus a couple of years ago, I found a lot of wee short videos on my phone, thought I might as well share them, cheers atb Brian 😲
@@thelifeofbrian282 Quite right, no use wasting them. lol!
@@thelifeofbrian282 Ive been to Finnish Lappland, really enjoyed my time there, great people also. ATB, Angus 👍
Cracking day Brian! Loved that wee bum slide.😂😂
Strangely enough one of my favourite days in the hills and you can't be a wee glissade Paulo 🤣 cheers atb Brian 👍
Wow you get up to some high jinks Brian!😂
One tries ones best Terry 🤪
Exciting stuff Brian! Those tinted goggles were a good idea in those white out conditions. A few years since we did that bum slide with the club😂 brilliant if you mind any boulders 😂ATB…Terry
Aye sometimes the tinted goggles come in handy Terry and the big wean loves a wee slide on his bahookie avoiding boulders at all costs of course 😉 cheers Terry atb Brian 👍
Awesome video Brian. I remember doing Ben Macdui a couple of years ago. I didn't realise i downloaded the wrong route and took me upto the ridge. Kinda shat myself and decended down the boulders and across the field till I got to the tourist path. Thanks to a couple on the ridge who did offer to guide me along but I was still fairly new to munro bagging but declined the offer. They did point me in the right direction to the tourist path. I was ready to give up but pushed to at least bag Ben Macdui. Brilliant watch mate. I hope I eventually build up the courage to do this one day. ATVB Alan
That's going to live long in your memory Alan, I'm glad you got down safe and still had enough in the tank to go and do Ben McDui 🏔 💪 I'm sure you'll get round to the ridge when you're ready, cheers mate atb Brian 👍
Cracking Brian 😊 never done that ridge before and now want to! That’s definitely going to be a summer trip for me…nice one mate. Paulo
Well worth a visit Paulo 👍
Thank you for sharing this hike with us. Amazing view. Greetings from Poland.
Thanks very much from Scotland 🏴 to Poland 🇵🇱 atb Brian 👍
Fekk that's cold Brian, I've seen -27 where I grew up in the north east of Scotland, our house only had one coal fire, had to sleep with the clothes in the bed, or they were like card board in the morning and you couldnae get them on!
Its ok in the big down sleeping bag, they provide you with but as soon as you have to get moving OMG 😲 🥶🤣
Superb Brian 😍👌🏻..That scramble looks amazing mate ..Defo on my list ..Enjoyed that Brian 😁 Cheers Murchie
Aye you would love it bud 🏔 cheers atb Brian 👍
🥾👍😀
Cheers 👍
Nice one chaps 👌 good wee scramble that eh. Altho you get right into it then boom, ends quickly. A fine day anaw Bry albeit windy. 😎
Aye could have been doing with some more ridge Kev 😩 but aye a guid day albeit a tad windy 😜 cheers mate atb Brian 👍
Another brilliant but scary vid Brian! 👍
Aye not for you this one mate 😂
Those narrow rocky ridges combined with that wind made for a great scrambling adventure. Well done, fellows. 👍 Thanks Brian.
Aye the conditions 💨 certainly spiced it up a wee bit Chip 😜 thanks again atb Brian 👍
Brilliant mate, what a day eh. That’ll live long in the memory bank. Some stunning footage there mate esp going up the ridge which was fantastic. Just a tad too windy for the drones 🤣🤣 great recap of our day, till the next time. Adios😂
Absolutely fantastic day and something a wee bit different, like you say, it will live long in memory, aye we will need to do it again when it's not so windy 💨 to get some drone footage 😀 Superb bud 👌 atb Brian 👍
Cracking video mate, loved it. Just subscribed from a fellow TH-camr 😉👍
Thanks very much atb Brian 👍
👍
@@PhilDodsworthOutandAbout I returned the favour, looking forward to checking out your channel 👍
Hi Brian. I nice old breezy one for you. Stunning views though mate.👍⛰🥾
It certainly was Dave 😮 but aye great views 👌 cheers mate atb Brian 👍
Looks like the wind added an extra dimension to the ridge Brian…bet you enjoyed that…🤙
Aye definitely Dave, sometimes just as you were mid - step the strong winds would almost blow you over, not a normal Saturday but very enjoyable 😜 cheers bud atb Brian 👍
Fair play to you guys that looked a proper challenge, Brian, especially with that wind 😮 Well done 👏 great video, as always mate 🤜🤛
There were a few squeaky bum moments due to the wind Dave 🤣 cheers mate atb Brian 👍
@thelifeofbrian282 I would have shat it to continue.. 🤣
@DG.ADVENTURES 🤣🤣🤣
Nice one Brian and well done taking it on in those winds. It's a cracking wee ridge.Only found out about the ridge the day before I was going to do Macdui.I had always thought there wasn't any in the Cairngorms so this was a Brucie bonus.😂😂 Now had the pleasure of taking it on in full winter and summer conditions.😎👍
Aye it's cracking Andy, I wouldn't mind going back to do it again at some point, very enjoyable 👌 cheers atb Brian 👍
Fantastic hike and climb 👌
Cheers Stig 👍
@thelifeofbrian282 👍
That looked a stunning ridge to go up.Brian. I remember the view I got of that Corrie when I did those Carn Gorm and Ben Macdui. ATB Andy
Aye i really enjoyed it Andy 👌 cheers mate atb Brian 👍
Over 9K raised is awesome! Would have been a bit better if the whole event wouldn't have cost several thousand 😂
Its a fair point but I think 🤔 it's the challenge which has captured people's imagination and and encouraged them to make a donation, there's no way your raising that amount of money by doing nothing 😉
Brilliant Brian😍👌🏻..Some nice shots there mate..You can’t beat going up a hill in the snow and wind even like our trip up to Earls Seat..Enjoyed that bud Cheers Murchie
Aye fantastic conditions bud 👍
Certainly was windy💨, i was there😮
It was indeed Alistair especially up on the ridge 😳
Παρά τό χιόνι και τό πολύ κρύο οι εικόνες είναι φανταστικές μπράβο 👍 Καλημέρα σας από την Ελλάδα 🇬🇷
Yes it was a fantastic day, thank you very much atb Brian 👍
First 😁👍🏴
Looks breezy. Certainly not windy!
It was a bit windy💨
What a magic wee video. I loved it.
Thanks very much Scott, I really appreciate it, cheers atb Brian 👍
Even my dad who has completed ALL 282 munros in Scotland, wouldn't be stupid enough to go out in that weather. He has skied in the Alps, same Swiss resort about 20 times, America and Canada, trekked in the Himalayas, been to Everest base camp, got to 1000ft from the top of the Eiger, before the weather closed in. He is 81 and still skis and hillwalks.
It probably looked worse than it actually was tbh, I've been in the Alps, Andes, Himalayas, Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp (which was amazing btw) almost finished the Munros (hopefully this year, if not next year) your Dad sounds like one hell of a guy, I hope you manage to achieve half of what he has , atb Brian 👍
@thelifeofbrian282 He completed them 15 - 20 years ago
@thelifeofbrian282 He is far far fitter than I am, I am 52.
@thelifeofbrian282 I also think he has completed Kilimanjaro.
@thelifeofbrian282 Out 2 nights ago with good climbing friends for their regular curry night. He is retired consultant surgeon in Glasgow, they are all retired police officers, some high ranking, one a retired Chief Superintendent. All members of the climbing club.
Can remember you telling me about this trip mate was good to follow along on it 👍
Good old Cairngorms bud 👍
Brilliant Brian, I did this the same way as you, cycled down from the Cluanie at 6:30 am, and started with Creag nam Daimh, did it in July 2024, met a lot of fine folk coming the other way, including the head of the Gaelic college on Skye, nice lady. Took me 13 hours, but I did a lot of yapping. We had brilliant weather, and the ridge was one of the highlights of all my hikes, thanks for showing this, (a wee tip for the Gaelic pronunciation, if (thats okay?) an H after a letter makes the letter in front silent, except for B with an H makes a V sound, and M and an H makes either V or F or W, and C followed by H can make a gutteral sound) 👍ATB, Alba Gu Brath, Angus
If you don't have 2 cars available, then I would say anti - clockwise is definitely the way to go, the ridge itself is absolutely fantastic walking with glorious views in every direction, a long day but well worth it, as for the gaelic pronunciations, thanks very much with the tips, I need all the help I can get 🤣 thanks very much Angus atb Brian 👍
❤That initial clip was brilliant Brian! Could have been the South Pole 😂 5:00 is amazing too! Nice to get over Munro altitude. Great atmospheric hike 🫡
I must admit it's one of my favourite day's in hills Terry, epic Winter conditions 🥶 absolutely loved it 😀 thanks again Terry atb Brian 👍
That looked like brutal conditions, yet beautiful! I enjoyed watching. Thanks, Brian
You summed it up perfectly Chip, brutal yet beautiful 🤪 cheers Chip atb Brian 👍
When did you do this Brian? I did last year but the other way. Was a long one but very rewarding ticking off 7. All the best for 25 and hopefully meet up for a hike sometime. 👍
This was a few years ago Andrew, I'm not sure 🤔 which way is best tbh but I wouldn't fancy cycling uphill towards the Cluanie Inn 🚴♀️that much I'm sure of 🤪 but then two car's 🚘🚘 is definitely the answer, all the best for the coming year and I'm looking forward to meeting up for a hike 🥾 cheers atb Brian 👍
Excellent ridge tough going so well done cracking views cheers Andy
Its a great ridge with fantastic views Andrew 🏔🏔🏔 but yes tough going 😳 cheers atb Brian 👍
Much better in 4k Brian 😊
Thanks for that Paul, it makes all the effort worthwhile mate 👍
😊👌
Thanks 👍
Looks great 🙂👍
Beautiful but very windy Stig 😳 cheers atb Brian 👍
Great vid Brian 👍
Cheers mate atb Brian 👍
Thanks Brian, I camped at the ruins of Corrour 11 months ago, was deep snow and down to around -10, my water and energy drink froze and TBH I was surprised I woke up the next day! Climbed Carn Dearg and Sgur Ghoibhre. I cycled in from the Rannoch end, was a memorable trip. ATB, Alba Gu Brath, Angus
That sounds like one hell of an adventure Angus 😳 it can be tough going at times but we still go and do it again 🤪 cheers atb Brian 👍
Thanks Brian, I love the Fannaichs, first climbed them when I left school, was working as a shepherd not far away in Glen Achall.
Its a beautiful area Angus and it must have been a privilege working in those surroundings, I will certainly be back at some point, cheers atb Brian 👍
Nice one Brian and doing it from the other side . You will need to get up on the ridge it's superb a few sketchy bits but doing it on a good day in the summer always helps the views are unreal along the ridge. Atb Ally 👌 👍
Aye it's on the bucket 🪣 list bud , cheers atb Brian 👍
Better than sitting oan the couch indeed lads. Altho abit wet, boggy n miserable eh 😁
Very Kev 😢
😂😂that looked totally miserable mate, hope you had more than 1 can of beer tae droon yer sorrows 🍺🍺🤣🤣 Good story telling tho👍 ATB Franko
Aye it's was miserable and yes i definitely drowned my sorrows 😢 cheers bud atb Brian 🤣
Hi Brian. What a brilliant adventure. You found yourself a nice secluded camp spot there. Always nice to get in the tent after you’ve been walking in the pishing down rain. Can’t believe you missed the opportunity to rein-act the ‘it’s shite being Scottish’ scene! 🤣🤣 All the best mate 😀🥾⛰🏕️🏴🏴
Aye great wee camp spot but the amount of rain 🌧 was horrendous Dave 😳 i did miss a trick with not re- enacting the famous train spotting but I didn't want to rain on Tams parade 🤪 here's the link to Tams video where he does a brilliant Ewan McGregor impersionation Dave just about 24 mins in , cheers mate atb Brian 👍 th-cam.com/video/Ni3qFnDv2po/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JP3efxV2WevIkCRI
@ 🤣🤣 Just watched it, brilliant 🤣🤣
Enjoyed that, thanks. Brought back some great memories. I bet you wish you could have stayed out longer.
On this occasion eh ..no 😏 couldn't wait to get off the hills, cold wet and miserable 😢 thankfully it's not always like that, cheers atb Brian 👍
