@J3N_13 because my dad's transphobic and homophobic, in general he probably won't let me go on t, or get a binder, but i can cut my hair short, wish he was more accepting of this

​@@aidenbanana1234 That must be tough. If it feels safe, try to find a time and place where both of you can talk privately, without distractions. Try to explain yourself calmly, while being honest and try to be always respectful avoiding to raise your voice or use a bad language, even when it's hard to not so. I suggest you to make it as non-confrontational as possible but while still being clear. It may not be a quick thing to process, make sure to give him time to think if needed, especially if it doesn't end well, try to not force the topic and give him time. Consider that by time he could be more gentle with you. Avoid getting into arguments and be prepared for a bad reaction, but don't overthink it. Try to approach the situation step by step and put your focus only in the actual stage of the situation and observe it, as the situation develops develop your thinking of it and take proportionate measures to it. (example: I see a man in the bus and I feel uneasy around him but the man doesn't seem to have bad intentions, to avoid giving a biased judgement I try to not panic and just continue my ride while still paying attention. If something happens, I will behave accordingly). Just be sure that you know that if you get disrespected it is NOT your fault and you are wonderful. Especially your father, everyone has to treat you with respect and kindness, even if they may not support the LGBTQIA+ Community for some reason. (As an example, I may not agree with every aspect of the LGBTQIA+ community, but I believe that everyone deserves respect and kindness, no matter their identity. It’s important to always treat others with dignity and understanding, even if there are differences in beliefs) Don't bottle up emotions, crying is fine. Reach out to friends and trusted adult( it could be another family member or your favorite teacher). Remember to set clear boundaries and don't tolerate any kind of abuse, if something happens prioritize your safety and seek help. Consider if needed having some support from experienced people such as therapists or counselors. It's going to be better, you are great. I am here for questions, dialogue or anything you need.
