TRANSBRATIONS: My cousin, James Preston, an Altadena resident lost two homes in Eaton Canyon Fire.
In this video clip from over 25 years ago, my mom shares a lighthearted moment with our cousin James Preston at his home at 365 Mariposa and Marengo in Altadena. Also featured in the video is my Uncle Clinton Williams from Texas.
I hadn’t seen James in over 15 years and had forgotten he was still alive until I asked my mom about him and the house, which no longer stands.
I look forward to hearing James' story of escaping the fire.

The focus shifts to some of Norneice’s kids and foster kids and then to two ladies. Next, my family gathers for a group photo w...

BEAUTIFUL INTERVIEW Y'ALL!!
Thank you for your support!
Hey fren 🤗🥰 you can give the girls a run for their money honey 💃🏾 😂
Why the us against them mentality?!? Can’t we ALL be great?!? Nope because that doesn’t fit your narrative. Divisive is all some people know how to be smh.
Hey fren!! Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you are enjoying some goat meat as usual.
@@Love4life527I don’t think they are being divisive. It’s like when black people compliment one another and then a yt person comes in the comments and says ALL lives matter… they do, but that wasn’t the conversation being had.
So beautiful 🕊️🕊️💕
Are you tupacs god daughter? Are you related to orlando anderson?
NO! And NO!!!!
@transbrations but you met tupac right? Says on Wikipedia
Are you tupacs god daughter and how?
I spent two ears in the fifth grade in Marshall in the fifties while Dad was watching Hydrogen bombs explode in the Pacific. I went to Sam Houston and Crockett elementary schools
Nahshon Dion' I have been reading some of your interviews throughout the years! And? May I say each one gets better Then what I read prior. There's a great future for you. But this particular one with' Ms. Cortlyn Bridges has touch me very deeply!! It's so unfortunate what happened to her daughter.. But Ms.Bridges strength and her spirituality is so strong' where it reminds me of my mother who I lost in 2001.. Before her passing my sister died at 25 years old.. And I'll never forget her words' That she said. It doesn't suppose to happen this way.. She Said my daughter should be bearing me instead.. But the strength that these Mother's draw from is amazing how they carry on! And continue to carry on with their lives... Living with the hurt from day to.Day. So I commend women like Ms. Cortlyn Bridges And my mother.. That wears that Is crown of Pride and Bignity!! Continue to hold on Ma'am. Cause as you know' God got your back..❤️🙏🏾👍🏽🌹✝️
This interview is so amazing!! You should have your own talk show..❤
Thank you for your support.
Wow this guy is such an awesome person
I used to live in West Hollywood off San Vicente blvd and sunset back in the early 2000s and I loved it
What exactly did you love about it?
Yes my happy day we have the super pack . Bobby Kennedy is going to bring good health to America. No GMO or Preservative or additives in our food. Musk and Vik and Gabi and Trump. We will have balance world.😊❤ It is sad he left this world before seeing the changes that will save America from it self and hopefully will follow the jet stream to other countries ❤🎉
As long as he's not hurting anyone and not trying to push his ways down other people's throats, he's good. Not like the cult members of the three competing monotheistic death 💀 ☠️ 💀 cults that all base themselves on competing fictional storybooks, all written by humans and based on mythological malarkey and superstitious hogwash.
This is so interesting... Thank you for sharing this... ❤
Zeke was my most unforgettable neighbor, and I'm happy that I discovered this content of him.
I thank you for sharing it... He must have been an awesome person...
"what is this nonsense getting recommended to me for" "oh. Oh no :( rip you wild old dude"
This guy rocks. A true sage if there ever was one.
Yeah, I like his channel. different and sweet . Hippie use to be the norm, maybe we need this again?
I think you could be onto something ❤
One of the most corrupt little towns in texas.a depressed economy and low income people.everybody’s on disability might as well be Shreveport La. Just as bad.the sense of entitlement is everywhere .I’ve lived in Texas all my life and this is definitely one town to avoid unless you like trouble.everyone is from there why because they can’t get out of there fast enough.its no different there now than from when this show was broadcast.this is not a true representation of the town color.
What would be a true representation of the town color?
All I can say is WOW! About this documentary. I am not from here originally. I am from Colorado. I have lived here off and on in different locations of East Texas since 1983. My dad would work in Colorado and here in East Texas. Growing up i knew some things were different and some was the same. I now at 48 years old can still in some ways, see there is a difference between people here and people in the mid west. I choose to call East Texas my home because of the warm and nice wonderful people.
I remember her in the 90s at the Crenshaw mall where she worked as a makeup artist 💄 🎨 👄 👗 👠 👛
She's now working at the Slauson swapmeet.
🎉 cool
Creepy, ive seen another hospital close to this one and its abandoned too... besides that theres this other Hawthorne plaza mall that closed now 30+ years ago . Its creepy
Has anyone gone in there while abandoned?
ima try it in a few weeks ill lyk
@@JrosvriDude fr? My friend and I were planning to go but lmk how it goes.
I don't think it's that possible now to sneak into tho, I've seen lots of big tall fencing... Who knows maybe u guys could trespass
don’t go, too high security. 50 arrests made at property in past 3 or so months
I remember when it was closed. And I remember hearing that they said it would be reopened, maybe? Obviously never did. Closed for 20 years and this county needs hospitals. At this point, it could be changed into housing.
I was taken to this hospital on July 4, 1997. I was treated by Dr. Stockard. That night was very haunting, just like the persons footsteps in this video.
Oh, it freaks me out if there could be any ghosts or souls roaming around here.
Thank you for posting this it means a lot for the ones who where not able to join so thank you so much Ebony

So many Congrats, Nahshon! 🎉
Congratulations!
I was growing up in Marshall in 1984, I was 10. This brings back so many memories of growing up then.
Was this your first time viewing this program?
This was so beautiful and amazing. I’m at a loss for words. You were the perfect person to interview my brother. Thank you for this!
Glad you enjoyed it.
This was a very amazing and inspirational moment. It meant so much to the west coast and the performers. I love this. Its beautiful! You did an excellent job.
Thank you so much!
We grew up enjoying our Dad’s enjoyment of all of Bill Moyers programs on PBS My dad would say “we are from the same small town. We need to support his work.” Then “Marshall Texas” came on. My dad said “quick, get a tape” So we taped it. My dad knew half the people who were interviewed. He got the biggest kick out of the two school teachers. “They have taught everyone in town”
That was my favorite part the two teacher sisters!!
Kathy is trash !
This interview was everything! I loved it!
Thank you Noele. Part two will be published on the 20th.
No doubt sourced from the MacArthur Library edition.
