So interesting hearing the myth of Sedna. I saw an interview with Snow Raven on Just Tap. Her people are from the Russisn Tundra. She wanted to play the drums but she had yo have permission through a Sharman ceremony to play them . Her drums were made if reindeer skin femine energy. There are lot of songs. Ravens connect different worlds, dimensions. In the story Melanie read She said parents. What was her mother doing? Although it seems that Although mothers have had arranged marriages they eill still sacrifice their daughters in the same way. Just some more thoughts to add. Love the interview ❤

Excellent topic and discussion, thank you both, I would have listened to an even deeper dive into this for hours. One thing that stands out from this myth for me is that Orestes is torn not only between mother and father but also the Divine Masculine and Feminine archetypes - if he favors his mother/Feminine he is denied and punished by Apollo (Leo/5th House, self-identity, play, creativity, children) and if he favors his father/Masculine he is tormented by the Furies/Feminine (unconscious, Plutonic, 8th House, shared resources, intimacy, destiny, rebirth...), showing both the individual and collective consequences of false values and "laws" being modelled and proliferated through descendant generations. The Christian approximation "...For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquities of the fathers on the sons to the third and fourth generation...(Exodus 20:5)" seems to have been equally misunderstood and misapplied; you'd think that after so long, there should have been the realization that it isn't a commandment to be followed, wouldn't you? Yet here we are, the "nut" still doesn't fall far from the family tree and we still largely fail to question our misspent labors, preferring to blame the fruit itself for poor outcomes ( "the kids (politicians, corporations, etc.) these days..."). I say YES!, blame the mistakes of the parents, and the cultural narratives and false values, and everything else that contributes to the intergenerational decline of the planet and the human condition, so the dysfunctionality can finally be called out and corrected instead of repeated. I've seen too much - it stops with me, I will NOT visit the iniquities of my fathers and mothers on another generation, if it means being the last in line, Apollo and the Furies and all other jealous gods be damned.

As far as I have been able to look into it, it seems to be the person with Yod(s) in their chart combined with their lifestory that has a potential to break through. This discussion is timely for me, with finding myself in a situation that has been ongoing for 6mnths, and with realising how unwell it is making me (in body and mind) because i havnt kept sturdy boundaries and have felt as though i cannot say no to these people😬. I could not offer only a "👍" on this one Ana, I would be consumed with self-loathing if I did not properly express my gratitude for the sensitivity and equanimity with which you and Lianne approached the ongoing 2500+ year life-and-death struggle for balance between Masculine and Feminine that the Lilith archetype (whose name has been and often continues to be maligned and spoken in vain) is tortured and torn between. Conversations like this add richness and an opportunity to explore greater depths of Her meaning beyond the all-too-popular appearances in the arsenal of (all too un-Feminine) "gender politics" operatives - after all, what is so "nature"al, "nurture"ing, or "liberating", about four generations and counting of motherless children? It's about damn time She was finally given a fair and balanced hearing and reasonable advocates not intent on revenge, maintaining the status-quo, or turning the tables. A bit of a "unique" perspective: As a Schizoid man, with a very Feminine and very wet natal chart ( Lilith/Chiron/Saturn conjunct in Pisces 2nd house trine with Neptune in Scorpio and Jupiter/Juno in Cancer, opposing Mercury/Sun/Uranus/Pluto/Venus/Vesta in Virgo 8th/7th - kite pattern) I find many of the Lilith descriptions to be too adversarial or alienating to relate with. My own interest in the archetype centers on Her as an Anima figure recently emerging as what I interpret as a "part" in a spontaneously unfolding internal narrative. She first "appeared" when She stepped out from the shadow of a dragonfly on a windowpane (psychopomp archetype; Hermes) cast from the light of a sickle moon, wearing nothing but her symbols of power and a sharp-toothed smile : "You know me. You have always known me, though you have forgotten. I come to you neither naked nor ashamed, but as I was created, as were you." She has a thirst for Life and definitely likes being "on top", but She also leaves gifts - new "rosaries", rose-colored "love bites", and long-stemmed roses complete with thorns to prick fingers and draw forth a few precious drops of Life to fall on a cold alabaster tomb : "Why do you tease me with mere drops of yourself darling, when I have waited here so long? Come to me, give yourself to me, and you shall have all that I am - there's room inside for two." Later, following Her "resurrection" and dressed in a hooded "gown" fashioned from her burial shroud, a few of Her choice words from an air-clearing exchange concerning Her "vampiric" nature : "...Who drove the stake through YOUR heart? What evil were YOU accused of...that would cause you to hate me so much that you would drive the stake with your own hand? 'Fall on my own sword'...'Honor'...you dishonor yourself for the satisfaction of those who are dishonorable and dishonor Life itself!...Life or Death, Ronin, me AND you, or me OR you? CHOOSE!" Her language has an archaic quality, but it is crystal clear that She feels She was mortally wounded, savagely wronged, and demands justice and respect; and seeks understanding...and reconciliation. Maybe, with conversations like this one, it won't take another 2,500 years.

Robert E Grant in a conversation with Emilio Ortiz I watched two days ago, said the following that gave me an insight into the importance of myth to our collective psyche and potential for healing:- “We have to realise that in a matrix of mind all the mythology is true and what we are living is not what we are living. The mythology that we’ve basically heard about is what we are doing we’re literally living this stuff over and over again and that creates an echo through this Möbius strip of time. So you hear about a story that’s a myth it’s actually a story about you being told through thousands of years of time over campfires and everything else because what we consider to be our distant past is also our distant future” I wrote this in my journal because I understood why myth is so vital and the more I listen to fabulous astrologers like Melanie Reinhardt, Pam Gregory and Heather Ensworth the more I sense a timeless connection to the Cosmos and how our individual lives are integrated into all that is. That was wide-ranging and informative, thank you Ana and Melanie. The disturbing incident in the myth of Sedna about the ‘severance of hands’ by her own father, could well be a sign of the times with Uranus soon joining Sedna in Gemini. Gemini is about communication, and the ‘severance of hands’ is symbolic of women being unable to communicate their situations due to being deliberately silenced, cut off or killed. Sedna was literally frozen out by patriarchy. Even pre-arranged marriages are symbolic of women traditionally having no say in the matter. However, signs of the ‘divine masculine’ are encouraging as we are already seeing positive changes in sexual and gender politics. Astrologically, Sedna is about transcendence and rising above a situation. So, hopefully we can rise above the frostbites of patriarchy that have subjugated us for so long. X
