It worked but mine wouldn’t go over 40
my big dog LS screen is set at 40 kh and wont' advance higher.... but the default wheel size was 24. any thoughts anyone?
Mine was the original 2020 Cruiser. They may have limited the newer models since then. 😢

Mine was the original Himiway Cruiser from 2020. I’m not sure if this will work on the newer models.

Every other video I've seen stops at 40. Are they just simply not pressing the button any more than that because they don't want to get into trouble? I'm picking mine up in 2 weeks, so this will be one of the first things I do.
I’m afraid they may have limited to newer models to only go up to the “40” setting. My Cruiser is the 2020 original model.

Does anyone know if this works for the UK bikes? These have 250W motors and are restricted to cut out pedal assist at 15.5 mph.
I’m not sure Ben. I posted this video back when I first got my 2020 Cruiser model in the US. I don’t think it works on the newer US Cruiser models made since then.

Well it did speed it up from 17mph to 20-21mph..
Mine was the early 2020 model. They may have made some changes with the newer models. 😢

Hi! It will use the battery up faster, if you use the higher speeds constantly. But, I haven’t noticed it being any harder on the motor. I’ve had mine three years this month and it’s still going strong! Enjoy!
@@ncaverync Ok. I’ll try it today. I’m pushing 400 miles on mine. I average around 30 miles on a full charge, but I weigh 250, down from 315 last year. 👍

@@ncaverync Ok. I thought I had the older model. Mine wouldn’t go past 45. But I’m thrilled. It still worked! I took it for a run this morning. My top speed was 22. Now it’s 28, so I’m happy with gaining another 6 mph! Which is enough speed for me on an Ebike! 👍

I understand there may have been some changes/limitations of the newer models. I got mine in June 2020. It was one of the very first batches.

It may drain the battery faster if you’re going at top notch speeds. I rarely go at maximum speed on mine.

All new himiways in the last year or two are locked. Even with an aftermarket screen
Can you reset the miles on e-bikes?
You can reset the Tripometer back to zero, but not the total miles ridden

Hey Glen, My Cruiser is the 2020 model. They may have changed the newer ones, unfortunately! (I’ve been told this by others.)

@@donwiley4081 Yes, but there's a new code. I believe Himiway has it on their website, but it voids your warranty because it's not legal. Still, though. You paid for the 750 watt motor, so you should at least get commute speeds. 25 don't cut it for 2 grand...

Can you help me? I only want to set the Himiway Cruiser handgas as a start -up aid without driving full throttle? So e.g. on 5 miles when I open the hand gas fully.

DO NOT BUY A HIMIWAY. Himiway is a struggling company and they are Huge Liars. They tell you the bike is "In Stock", but when you order, suddenly they have several layers of bullshit reasons why they can't ship in a timely manner and if you DARE try to cancel the order, they 1st try and shame you, then they tell you they will charge you 8% if you cancel your order -- STAY AWAY FROM HIMIWAY
Hey Mr Boulware....I recently bought a new 2022 Himiway Zebra. Pre ordered several weeks ago. It took what seems like forever. Had it for 2 weeks, put less than 2 miles on it so far. Huge investment for me, so I'm going over the instructions as to get a greater understanding how to operate "Frankly" the right way. Oh! Franky is short for "Frankenstein of all bikes"...lol I'm reaching out regarding your choice of bike saddles. I bought my saddle the same place where you bought yours. I bought a different brand. "ROCKBROS" was my choice. It has everything you have plus sides zippers on right and left that release what I call side saddles. After you unzip the flaps it gives you even more room. Also the unit has a shinny leather texture. Take a look..... Ride Over the Mountains to Reach the Sky!!!....have fun guys and ladies...🙂

I was able to do this with my bike but I think they updated the software or something because it won't let me go past 45. They must have figured out people were doing this or something

Mike, I think the newer models are being limited. I got my Cruiser in June 2020.
hey I dunno if you're still wondering about this, but yeah the newer models are down to 45 now. Upgrading the display will change that, providing you get the right one.
They have changed it so you can only max out at 40 you can't put it up to 90 anymore. Mine was said it's 36 I put it up the 40 which is the max setting. I just got my bike today went for a little night ride around the neighborhood in boy don't this thing light up the stripes on the tires glow when the lights hit them

Hey why are all you changing the password ? Mine is in 0. I just pass it without touching I set what ever I want and it works. ! What is the pw for ?
I didn’t change the password.
You can stick the alarm under your Himiway Cruiser rack, stick it there to that wooden surface. Make sure that the input charging slot of the alarm is neer the edge of the rack so you can reach it easily when you want to recharge it.
Hi Dean....it looks like you have some sort of turn signal indicator on the handlebars.....could you supply any info on that...much thanks.
Hey Doug! The turn signal works with my Lumos helmet. There are turn signals on the helmet itself. I actually have two different models of the Lumos helmet. The remote device you see is the older one and I actually like it better than the new version.

I live in California and just got my Escape. I went to settings and max out the speed it only goes to 45 max instead of the 90. My max speed at full throttle is 25mph, tire pressure 25 psi. Maybe the bike ship to CA are more regulated.
Manifest, Unfortunately, I think all the newer Himiways are being more strictly regulated. I’m hearing all the newer ones have the same limitations that you’re encountering. You’ll still love the bike!
They limited top speed on newer 2021 firmware from burning out hubs and controllers.

@@badimpulses17 upgrading controller will give you more amp to go faster. You will need the compatible battery specs required to run whichever controller you get

Hey so I Just tried that exact process and it didn’t let me go past 40. You went all the way to 90 and it only let me go till 40, then when I locked in the setting it went to like 26, definitely faster then 22mph which was what I was maxing out on, but just was wondering does it go any faster then 26? Why did it not allow me to go to 90 like you. Thank you for everything
Hey Jared, I got my bike in June 2020…I have heard that they’ve made some changes on the newest bikes, possibly limiting them to the “40” setting. You’ll still enjoy it going to 26 (and probably faster downhill). You’re going to love the bike. Still riding mine almost every day!
@@ncaverync same here, it definitely drains the battery much much faster, if I set it back to 22mph the battery will go back to lasting a long time?
Jared, Probably….but it all depends on what pedal assist levels you use. The higher, the quicker the battery will discharge, of course.
i got mine yesterday, and I have the same problem, I think the company started limiting them at 40. I’d like to find an override to this limitation

It is a very nice bike! I have over 2550 miles now! I still love it!
3 reasons I chose the Himiway Cruiser over the Rad Rover was 1) costs $200 less. 2) longer battery life and most importantly, 3) top speed of about 32 mph. Sadly, Himiway has apparently set a lower max speed on its newer criusers, WITHOUT INFORMING ANYONE!!! I got my cruiser on July, 21, 2021. My L5(S) is set to a max of 45 NOT 90 and equates to about 28.6 mph. Now I'm hearing people who got their cruisers in the last couple weeks saying it can only be maxed out to 40, which they allege equals to only about 22 mph. 28 mph is okay, but I would be VERY UPSET if it were goverened to only 22 mph.
Yeah I just got mine 2 days ago and it's governed at 40 which is about 26 mph. I'm kind of bummed but I have many hills and 26 is good enough for my area. How is your battery's life? Mine I rode for about 23 miles and today only about 7-8 miles and lost 2-3 cells. (On the display) and today I was peddling a lot more.....I dunno. I'm happy with it. I made some bad decisions in the past year and this helps me get around now 😉
@@DarkEmpathy187 my pedal assist configured 2 (35%) and 3 (42%) and no throttle only did 32 miles with a bar left. I do have so up hills too

Hey Mad Boy! That “L” shaped thing is not used at all. Some people have tried using it to mount the headlight higher on the front fender, but it will eventually break. You don’t need to do anything with it. There are lots of jokes in the Himiway community about it. Somebody even had some T-shirts printed with the L-bracket on it! Lol

Hi - I have a new bike, just got it, the 2021 version. The "LS" only goes up to 45, not 90 like the old model, does this mean it wont go as fast as the older model? Can only get it to go up to 21mph, where people with the older model say it can go up to 31mph.
Do you know of a way around the 45 limit, to make it go faster like the last version?
Hey Joe, I’m really not sure. Others are reporting the new bikes top out at “45” also. I don’t know how this affects the top speed limit now. Mine is still going strong at over 2200 miles!

I need help. I bought a Himiway and received it 2/15/21. All good out of the box and for 3 rides. On my 4th ride lost all power had to walk it home. After checking all connections and finally getting to tech support it was determined controller was the problem. I paid $99 to have a new controller. It has been 11 days and my controller has not been confirmed for delivery. Please help.
I am not affiliated with the Himiway company at all. I just own a Himiway eBike and am a happy rider.
My speed limiter stops at 45, can't go any higher.
Are you sure you’re on the “LS” setting and not something else?
On the newer bikes they may have set a limit on it so you can't reprogram it for higher speeds. Just a thought.

Yes! Absolutely! Some people just think even the lowest setting (“1”) is too powerful.
@@ncaverync cool thanks , I took mine out for a short ride today , I still have to tweak it a little my battery dropped 2 bars and I really rode less than 5miles.
