Invincible class aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious(R06 now a helicopter carrier) departs from Tyneside after a short visit in March 2012. Also shows off one of its Augusta Westland Lynx helicopters.

Part of the Cunard ship QE2s 40th anniversary tour. The QE2 was built on the Clyde, Scotland but this visit was to commemorate another famous Cunard ship RMS Mauritania(1906) which was built at Swan Hunters in Wallsend in the North East of England. The QE2 was used as a troop carrier during the Falklands conflict in 1982.

This was filmed while waiting for tall ships during Newcastle Gateshead segment of the Tall Ships in 2005. It was originally named the 'Dana Anglia' and appeared in series 2 and 3 of the BBC Soap 'Triangle'. A series set onboard a North sea ferry.. From 2009- it is owned by the italian Moby line .
