Webull Keeping Funds Frozen! BY SLOOOW MOVING FUNDS!!!
I used $SH and $SPY to give an idea of how sandwiches behave over different time periods. Also leveraged versions of both SPY and QQQ, sandwiched with their respective inverses. My thoughts: if the underlying sticks around, amd you have 2-3 years to hold, you'll be just fine matching investment values, buying and holding and forgetting about it.
I am doing these sandwiches that were originally inspired by Oracle! Great video !
I am taking a bit of a different direction and closed a few sandwhiches today (before the Powell speech)
Keep working it, time will tell. But NAV erosion an’t not joke
The sandwich tastes like manure Great video These funds misbehave by not maintaining NAV well Best to trade them whenever the underlying enters into a bull market
I've seen traders buy right before ex dividend date. Sell on ex div. Use the cash to sell deep itm puts or itm cc weeklies then buy back in before ex dividend with the extra funds so on and so forth
@@theworkinginvestor I've played puts, calls and shares repeatedly on YIELDMAX but overstayed too long and over traded them at times.....the option liquidity is poor for these funds
A big piece of this puzzle is how good are the fund managers really? We will see as others come on the scene
I agree.
First
So with dividends how have you done? It is nice to see the sandwich method working so far
Let's see how it plays out next month.
Hi so if you withraw allyour div nav keep going down and down? Maybe yqqq is good hedge aganist qqqy and no qdte?
I have seen others make videos thinking its a good idea. On 1st thought I don't think it is unless Defiance (qqqy) fixes the perpetually nav errosion problem as it goes down and never recovered even when the underlying was going up. Yqqq is still so new and needs a bit of time to reveal how it performs.
Since beginning of May 2024, TSLY/CRSH has lost a total of about $6.50 if you had bought one share of each.
You may be on to something, but looking at NAV alone is lacking from the equation. To calculate for total retun, one should backtest for total return: as Total return= All Dividends collected since may then subtract the NAV. Bear in mind that it's not as linear as I am constantly reducing my cost basis for free by ripping off an overpriced position and placing it on the inverse. I might make a video on this. Seems interesting to analyze. Thank you for your comment.
@@theworkinginvestor Agreed on the dividends. When I choose to invest, I focus mostly on the NAV without considering dividends. If the total return is positive, but NAV is declining, I lose interest.
@theworkinginvestor What are your proportions for each sandwich?
Like it !! Fast Money !!
In my opinion, less than 1% for a high yield dividend stock is amazing. I’ll be honest, I love seeing my account barely drop on the day the market drops. I’m personally looking for monthly dividend income to live on so nvda/dips, cony/Fiat, Tsly/Crsh and Qdte/Yqqq sandwich’s sounds great to me.
Another great honest video, thanks ❤ I'm also considering to add more YQQQ to hedge qdte and xdte. You might be also interested in YQQQ
Thank you! Re: Yqqq to qdte I made a specific video on that. For now, I'm going to wait and see.
Another great video; keep them going 👌
Yes to see it after dividends will be very interesting because right now your point is to try to keep a balance The icing on the cake will be the dividends
Never worry about the length of your videos longer videos are always better We listen to videos because we enjoy the person who's making the video so obviously more is better just a thought
Doing shorts and longs with YieldMax Won't work. You'll get NAV erosion on both ends. These ETFs are taking 1% from you for expenses, then they are portraying at least 40% payouts when over half the payout is your own money. You can't make more than a standard covered call strategy because of the theta erosion on everything. Better off buying deep in the money leaps and setting up calendar spreads.
agreed
The Tsly, Crsh sandwich is. Disastrous Better to track the underlying
I like it, been following the “O” for a while. Good luck with your Strat. I will keep watching you.
Beta is the volitility of a stock in relation to the index. If a stocks beta is 2 then on average it swings up or down twice as much as the index would on during that time frame outside of external factors. If you were trading options and did not know this (you can see the beta of any stock which is a very important component of trading in general) its not surprising you were underperforming. Additionally yield max funds supplement the payouts with return of capital which is just them literally giving the money back AND its taxed. Between that and the high expense ratio which they disclose both of these things in the prospectis you're basically burning your cash overtime in the name of "income". Once you factor in the tax bill you will always underperform because you can use money you didnt spend on taxes to invest more the next year instead of getting a taxable event only to reinvest into a NAV eroding investment where the dividend payouts will decrease over time unless more capital comes into the fund (this is literally how ponzi schemes work except this is legal because its all disclosed but people dont understand what they are buying). As you've shown, just buy the underlying asset and leave it be instead of risking the funds implosion for the sake of "income" which will cause you to underperform the underlying stock in the long run in almost every case.
Will you consider doing a full account overview? Interested to see all of your positions and preformance
That sounds like a good idea, possibly at some point.
So Working Investor where are each of the sandwich plays as far as capital put to to current NAV?
I'm considering possibly making a progress video on it at some point.
My video today was inspired by your question.
YQQQ is capped to the upside like other Yieldmax products.
Inverse funds, so yes, but I believe you mean capped to the down side of the synthetic covered put.
Wow i realy love your channel. Glad i find it
Glad you enjoy it!
YM managers did horrible trades for gooy, I own goog, and the way the stock moved in comparison to the the YM CC option was almost opposite of the underlying stock price, their calls were way off in comparison to MSFO.
The funds are only as good as the fund managers running it.
Ulty is ETF pornography it's just wrong lol
😅
Is that a technical term a collage lol it's epic
I'm down with the core compounding but a lot of this inverse stuff you're doing bro it's really out there lol
I'm trying to test out different ways to play these inverse funds.
I really like your videos
Are you sure YM is beating you? Maybe on NVDY and CONY but that’s because they were long those tickers the whole way up. They won’t be beating us in a two way market
Because of its slower growing movement and many other factors Amazon is still the best stock for this type of ETF but I'm starting to think that yield max has written their prospectus in ways that limited their abilities This is why new funds will come and do it right even a new tesly
I agree. The fund is only as good as how the fund managers operate the fund.
A big part of this that everyone misses is the ability of the fund manager s. You can pit two options traders against each other and one will kick the other ones ass so there's a definite difference here and I think yieldmax may not be as good as we thought
You will become a millionaire fast been running this about a year now. 3X is the way
Are you saying that there are NAV erosion in these YieldMax funds?
There is no denying that. Open up any YM chart. Some go down more than others. However, when it comes to these massively paying etfs. They do not function like growth stocks as some of these funds pay 50- 100%+ per year. I personally look at the total return.( I'm a retail investor/not financial advice. Depends on your risk tolerance and comfort. Talk to a financial advisor to get their take on your personal situation.) Thank you for your comment.
@@theworkinginvestor in my opinion most YieldMax funds sux. It’s not passive income if a person is forced to reinvest into the fund to maintain NAV. I preferred something like TDVI with 7-8%yield but have a great price appreciation
It’s cool watching an following your market journey! I like that you show your thought process on the different ways you use the market.. Thanks for posting your journey!
Thank you!
Good video I run TQQQ call LEAP OPTIONS during pullbacks and average down cost basis if necessary if I entered too early
It's good to know others are also deploying leaps on tqqq! Love your content as well. I find some good value and pearls of wisdom.
Nav doesn't really mean much for many of us!!! For example.. i got in cony from day 1.....next month dividend gives me more then my total return back, i chucked in 50k...i have all that back next month and more... and then playing with 100 % house money baby.
I did the math and you’re right. Your 2,529 shares have yielded you $49,500 over 11 months. You’re 50,000 is worth $41K now. $9000 (I know you haven’t sold) is not too much to pay to gain $49K. I have 500 cony at average price of $20. The problem with these yieldmax ETFs though is that almost all of them are losing share price every month If CONY drops to $5 or even $10 I think both you and I won’t be happy with the position.
@@johntaylor4817 I understand what you are saying, but I don't care about the price... because next month I have all my money back, so October onwards is all profit which I am banking!!! Huge returns which I have captured... its all free money now basically
It all comes down to NAV erosion. The high yields are great, but if all they are doing is giving you your money back and the funds go to the basement, what's the point? Oh, and if in a taxable account, you get to pay taxes on that money they are giving you back, too! In the end, the fund has to hold value, because a 40% return of nothin' is ... let me carry the zero ... nothin'. Some have been pretty good at that (QDTE/XDTE for example) while others plunge every month (IMWY is basically a set of stairs on the chart - avoid!). Personally, I'm in QDTE mostly, with some smaller amounts in the YieldMax family. QQQT/SPYT are also interesting as they hold their payout to 20% to help combat erosion. Finally, don't forget some more cash-like funds like SVOL and THTA that have been very good about holding NAV, but live in the teens for % return.
Not all funds are the same. You made some good points! Thank you!
Yeah, my thoughts too. I hold 4 of the yieldmax funds and I question If it’s wise to.
How fo u deal with the nav erosion on some ym funds?
I hedge with inverse funds. (I made a few videos on it) For Some funds, I don't, but if total return makes sense, then I have no issues with slight erosion. They way I look at it is If say you get 60% in divs and 20% erosion your net total return is still 40% for example. Sometimes, I need to reinvest the divs as a form of lowering the cost basis.
@@theworkinginvestor I don’t get the wisdom of investing the divs to lower cost basis, You’re still buying shares at lower prices that may continue to go lower. It seems like the sales philosophy of if you’re loosing money on each sale you try to make it up by more volume.
@johntaylor4817 with the sandwhich method, I am lowering my cost basis over and over again with no money out of pocket. I made a few videos explaining how I'm doing it. For the non hedged funds, the NAv historically has been more preserved and I have a very bullish thesis. As long as the difference between the dividends minus NAV equates to a healthy total return, I am fine with it. I take it 1 day at a time and running this experiment. I'm not married to these funds. Not all the funds are the same as we have seen. Some perpetually go down, and others fluctuate. For a falling knife, I get your question, but for those fluctuating, lowering the cost basis while down seems to make sense to increase the yield on cost. Again, with these cash products your not making money on the growth as much and more so on the Cash flow so if it stay where it is or down a bit, it's a win. Something paying out 50%-100% in a year and drops up to 30% in value is still beating the market. Past performance is not indicative of future gains and that's why I keep tabs on it. I appreciate your comment.
another great video!
Thank you!
Are you gonna do the sandwich and own both of these stocks?
Not just yet. I'm going wait and see how this funds performs. It also demands 100% margin requirements in the 1st month.
@@theworkinginvestor keep us updated please and thank you
@Nicogambino2 I wish there was an exact inverse replica from roundhill 0dte qqq synthetic put where you can have a daily strangle on the nasdac where they also use options on futures. Though there is so much positive drift in the nasdac, I might have adjust my allocation and tread carefully as betting against the nasdac might not be the best idea. Tsla is super cylical and with cony there is the cycles of the crypto winters.
Great to see these sandwiches plat out..keep us informed.thank u
I only invest in inverse funds only in bear market while still buying the dip on funds then I sell my inverse funds when bear market over with.
There are many ways to play it. Normally, not high yield dividend funds, its a zero sum game, but they way I see it and my hypothesis is with the high yield dividend funds, I get payed handsomely while more or less trying to keep my portfolio stable. In all honesty I reinvested and rebalenced most of my dividends on my last distribution, but bear in mind the entire market was down. Time will tell to see if this experiment will work out.
How do you reinvest? Do you reinvest equally in the sandwich.
Correct
Great video...I used to do my own strangles and now I get paid to let someone else manage those positions...
Thank you!
Great video thx
I created the sandwich and nobody gives me props.
I started this all with the tesly sandwich I wouldn't eat it myself because Tesla is disgusting
I want to know what you're going to do with the new fund for it to balance me out I would have to buy so much of it to counter my round hill
You know you are right! You were the first person that I recall mentioning it. Now it's taken off like wild fire. I'll mention it in my next video. It's crazy how many things you brought out there: core number compounding, the sandwhich Method, and application of margin to catapult returns the khmer also has done margin for a while, but no one at your scale 4X (heloc+ margin). I appreciate all the value you provide. No "buy my eguides" nonsense, lol.
Combining core number compounding with the sandwich method is very unique I never put the two together that's very very good
@@ORACLEFASTMONEYTRADERThank you!
great video; I use CRSH and FIAT
How do you like FIAT? Is it working for you? I have 200 shares of CONY and it ain't doing shit for me
YQQQ this morning
Wow, they finally came out with an inverse Nasdac Yieldmax funds!
how would taxes work in this strategy genuine question just trying to understand
speaking in the part of cutting off the top
Pretty much everything is a taxable event with realized gains. So, some of the proceeds need to be put aside.
Good video. Do you generally reinvest all the dividends that come in? I know you said sometimes you'll do that if nav has gone down but if it's stable do you still add in more shares?
Great question. For now, either keep the dividends to reduce Margin or buy more shares when NAV is down or start/build new position(s), set aside for taxes. Can change as it's a moving dynamic goal and target.
