A Train Station in Japan You’ll Never Be Able to Leave
Here's the google maps link to this station (Just be aware the train doesn't come that often)

Umi-Shibaura Station is a train station with a unique twist-you can’t leave the premises unless you work in the nearby industrial area. Located right by the sea, it offers a peaceful view from the platform, making it a hidden gem for train enthusiasts and those looking for something a little different from the usual Tokyo train experience.
In this video, I’ll take you along to explore the station and its surroundings. Whether you’re into Japan trains or just curious about lesser-known places, this spot is worth checking out.

I'm reposting my favorite video from my old channel. I went to Ibaraki Prefecture. This was made in February 2023, so the attractive prefecture rankings will be based on the one in 2022. Because I took more time editing more in the past, this video will be shorter than usual. My videos here will mostly be on the longer, chill side! Hey this looks like persona 5!
There is a station in the UK that you can travel to and from, but cannot leave. It was built for a steelworks which surrounds it, but has since closed. I believe the station was left open because the process for opening and closing stations in the UK is incredibly beureaucreatic, and takes a long time so they left the station open to passengers because, at some point, they wanted to build housing on the site of the old steel works., and wanted a railway station to serve that housing.. th-cam.com/video/5QCB6UdlnVw/w-d-xo.html
I really appreciate how considerate you are of the employees! Many people would just say “oh, they’ll drive you, you’re entitled to the ride!” But knowing it would be hard for the staff and respecting that is wonderful.
Fun video on this great train spotting area ♥
Liked so much your videos, love "unknown" places like this
this means that Oji station is the OG
I like how I got an ad from bookin directly before this, as if they think I will immediately go to this station myself as a mini vacation
many many many years ago in my first job I got sent to Japan on a business trip and one of the places I went to was the Toshiba facility in Yokohama. Of course, we didn't get a tour or anything, just met with the engineers and managers for a day meeting. Was still an eye opener for young me. Also got to visit a bunch if other places like the Fujitsu facility, Chiba university and the NTT-AT office in Shinjuku.
I am fascinated by people who communicate excitement and love about their homeland (can relate haha). Have you reached that waterfall since? :)
Hm
I should have used my 3 week JR pass to get here 20 years ago. Instead, I went to Kamakura.
This reminds me of when I solo travelled to Japan last year. You encapsulated the feeling perfectly. Japan is the perfect place for being alone, which is good and bad in its own right. I'm also really happy you chose not to use music in this video, it makes everything feel much realer.
Perfect for love birbs
I randomly went here on my trip in November, goddamn that was one of the best kebabs I've had. My Lebanese friend also loved it!
this is such an interesting video. Thank yo for sharing
I heard about of this station in passing. Thanks for sharing.
this looks like the kind of train station Sam would've hide during Jet Lag if he doesn't go for the old Narita Airport station
5.30 It seems like a Japanese edition of Necronomicon! Ok, seriously: great video, lots of interesting places!
He’s so cute!! I would love to travel with him 😆🥰
I briefly visited Asukayama Park last year when I saw the monorail/elevator at the entrance and there were so many people waiting that I didn't go on it and I didn't get far enough into the park to find out there were old trains there. Definitely need to go back when it's not sakura season lol.
Hey tanner. Know you might not read this. But wrapped up a trip to Japan to visit my gf. we also traveled to quieter areas and your videos help me be at ease with our LDR. makes me look forward to seeing her again and watching your Channel helps me discover more places to visit with her in the future. ありがとうタナーさん 😄
Damn, I thought it was the Kisaragi station
0:54 The style of this station is almost identical to the Odakyu Line’s (smaller) stations lol
I have never before searched for or watched a video about trains (let alone trains in Japan) but i'm glad i clicked on this random video that popped up in my recommended. You have a very likable personality and i hope you'll get to explore and experience many more beautiful train stations in your life!
I am planing a trip to japan in a few months and am looking for some low key activities to do while i am there. thanks for the content i will be subscribing and checking out your videos in the future.
4:36 Oh you!
I was half expecting a mention of the Kisaragi Station urban legend
I bet that park has one of the most annoying to get to Pokemon Go gyms in Japan Only those who would also be an employee might regularly have an access for it.
Why are you wearing a face mask?
Omg that’s so cool :o but the “runs not that often” was kinda sad because it runs more than my bus 😭😭😭
I do like how the display rotates to English
why cant you walk it is connected to land i don't get it.
I once tried to leave that station when I was in Japan
how do train fees work in japan? You said you have to pay the fee, when getting off the train, but didn't you also check in, when entering the station?
That place looks awesome at sunset. I read about this station a while ago and put it on my bucket list. Looks like a very cool place to go.
Hypnotic waves.
Great video!!!❤
The waves are actually majestic
Hope this doesn't get flooded with tourists....
ahh this looks so cool what the heck
maan i went to japan last year and im coming again this year, and your channel is just making me so excited again wooooo
stoppp im so in love, found you from the train video but this is such a wholesome and cute way to start the channel, you are the sweetest guy ever!!! i hope your channel and videos do well, il be here always, much love from the UK
I've barely started studying japanese, but I find it kinda funny how japanese text frequently uses western numbers. I wonder why
The numbers are Arabic. But hey every culture & language borrow from one another. We all appreciate goof things.
I'd rather be stuck here than Kisaragi Station.
I really love the Laview, the announcement chime is so classy, the seats are comfy and the windows are huge!
Shomaru and that whole line is great for hiking, I have used that station a few times
In Australia a 2 hour trip is just normal and a lot of people drive for 2 hours just to get to work. Almost no Australian train stations announce the arrival of a train and you must get to the station 15 minutes before the scheduled time just in case it is early. Australia is the 6th largest country in the world but only has a population of around 26 million people so travelling long distances is a part of life, I even had a job where I was a 2 day drive from the nearest person which Is something that is basically impossible in the majority of countries worldwide. It is always enjoyable watching how people in different countries live and no offence intended but it does make me glad that I was born in Australia if for nothing else than the open spaces and being able to see more stars than what seems possible.
