I have a Gradberg Alaskan Chainsaw mill and its a pain to deal with, and my 70cc saw has great difficulty cutting, even with the proper ripping chain. I found that the vertical method is likely better and this AGS mill looks like the best on the market! Nice and solid, unlike anything else out there. I made my order today and its coming to me here in Japan!

I just ordered one of these vertical mills off amazon 2 days ago and waiting on it to ship. I just found out about the horizontal mill. If I like the vertical mill I will most likely get the horizontal mill as well. I will be sure to give a review compared to the mills I am currently using.

one common problem with new operators using the jig: they tend to cut the timber in one pass, which is not a good move, and the result shows. Instead, do 3 passes to cut the timber, and each pass made by keeping the chainsaw in 30 degree angle. The angle reduces the pressure put on the chainsaw and the chainsaw can keep the cutting straight.
