Beef Cattle Research Council
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 12 ก.ย. 2012
The Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC) funds leading-edge beef, cattle and forage research and communicates research results to advance the Canadian beef cattle industry. The BCRC is funded through a portion of a producer-paid national levy as well as government and industry funding and is directed by a committee of beef producers from across Canada.
The BCRC’s mandate is to determine research and development priorities for the Canadian beef cattle industry and to administer Canadian Beef Cattle Check-Off funds allocated to research. As Canada's beef cattle industry research agency, the BCRC plays an important role in identifying the industry’s research and development priorities and influencing public sector investment in beef, cattle and forage research.
The BCRC facilitates and encourages collaboration and coordination among researchers and extension specialists, other funding agencies and industry to maximize the benefits obtained from all investments in beef research.

why chains are better than ropes? I saw couple of ppl using kind of ropes to take out the calf
Proper calving chains have rings on the ends to create the first part of the double half hitch described at around 4:06. In the second loop of that hitch, the chain links will bind against each other, helping to prevent over tightening and keep that twist point from rolling to the side. Chains are also easier to attach to pull handles or a calf jack, and easier to clean and sanitize.
The main concern with using ropes is that they cannot be properly disinfected prior to use. When used properly, chains pose no more risk of damage than ropes do, as long as they are properly placed to ensure adequate force distribution.
many thanks for this very informative video regarding the rigth ways of injecting.i jst started to raise my 14 cows.

Woow nice explanation
Fine dysticioa handle
This was very helpful thank you!
This is a great video so far I've seen on the management of Dystocia. Kudos to the team behind these great animations..
Don't ever tent the skin. Great way to inject yourself when the cow moves.
Thank you for your comment. The safety of both the cow and the person injecting is always foremost when giving an injection. Proper restraint is the first step in preventing injury to the handler, needle breaks, and injection site lesions. The video also shows two different injection techniques, a tenting technique that involves the use of two hands and a one-handed technique. When done properly, both are effective in safely delivering medications to the animal, and it is up to the handler to determine what technique is best for the circumstance.
Please accept my friendship as a thank you

What is treatment of your diagnosis???
Here is the section of the featured video that discusses treatment options for respiratory acidosis: th-cam.com/video/rJl0nuyqrGI/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared&t=167
Thank you!
So should we be using the powdered colostrum that you can buy from a Vet clinic or Peavey Mart?
Thank you for the question. If you do not have any fresh or frozen colostrum from your own herd on hand, the best option is to purchase a commercially available product that has been pasteurized to ensure no disease pathogens are present. This product should contain a minimum of 100 grams of IgG.
@@BeefResearch Okay Thank you!

11:46 is there other options if you don’t have the transfer needle.
Thanks for the question, @taylerwagner5776. If you don't have a transfer needle you would need to pull all of the liquid up with a syringe and needle, then inject it back into the dry powder.
