Fizik Terra Artica X5 GTX VS Scott Heater Gore-Tex Shoes
From a designer’s point of view I compare the design and materials of the Fizik Terra Artica X5 GTX Gore-Tex boot with the Scott Heater Gore-Tex boot.

A very informative summary James. I think this video came up as I purchased a pair of the Scott heater road (rather than MTB) shoes/boots and having had them now for about 3 weeks I love them. I suffer with cold feet and they have made a big difference. Not had very cold weather in that time to test them at around zero, but think they will hold up very well.
Was there a reason you didn't look at the Northwave winter boots? I've had mine almost 3 years now, I love mine.
I hear they are good although I am pretty sure they are wide and I have narrow feet.
Would these shoes be too hot for tropical climates that rain a lot? Want something to deal with the rain half of the time, but when the rain stops, and the sun is out, it gets real hot.
Oh man! I think you need two types of shoes! I don’t think there is a do-it-all shoe for your riding conditions!
The GoreTex would make it quite warm, a waterproof overshoe might serve you better for warm climates
I have both the road and gravel versions of the Fizik GTX, and they are both of excellent quality.
Why would you have both versions?
I'm enjoying them so far. I am having to dry them out after the huge downfalls we have seen lately but they are the driest shoes I have ever had in this kind of weather.
