Anytime you purchase from the premium store, it will give you a free cat pet in return. I believe if you purchase more than 1000 gold (combined from one or more purchases) you unlocked all 4 types of cat companions and you can equip them at anytime. Hope this helps!

There isn’t a region but you do have to be in the same instance. Press O and you can invite your friend to a group. You both have to be in the same map, Kilima or Bahari, and then you can invite them to your instance. Hope this helps!
